Flashback Friday post to earlier this month when I got the chance to go for Tautog in the Long Island Sound with my big bro Todd from Long Island Lethals and friends.
Excellent fishing! I pulled my elbow out of the socket bringing in my PB 59lb Black Drum 10 days ago... that was too much fish for the sista lol! I'm going back out into the deep at the end of the month. A November to remember!

@PhillyGirlFishing I'm heading out with Rudee Tours again. We're looking for Black Sea Bass, but Black Drum, very large Blues and the occasional Tog are also outchea. The elbow popped back in place, just a little sore - I bought a new JJ Wahoo Slayer jig (I caught the PB on a slow pitch joint, then lost the jig on the next cast, lol).
@@lindaholleysgonefishing9813 noooo not the new jig gone after the PB?! Say it ain’t so 😩😩. Well I’m glad the elbow is almost back to tip top shape. I still need to check out Rudee Tours one of these days too. Keep catching them up big sis 🎣
After seeing the video, I noticed you cutting the crabs in half alot. We usually only do that for the first couple drops. Then switch to whole crabs, uncut. Crack the shell or snip the horns and the bigger fish will come. The little guys get into those cut crabs too easy. I had fun with you guys, hope to see you soon.
Good point! I’ll keep that in mind for the next trip 🙌🏾. And word that was such a fun and chill trip. Always a fun time with you guys and it was nice to meet Scott too! After next weekend I’m probably sticking to NJ or DE but hopefully we can get one more trip in. Are you fishing any of the tourneys (IC or Gypsea) tomorrow?
Hey, this is off topic but I want to go on a blackfish trip on a party boat soon. I know I can bring my own rods but do they supply bait like green crabs? Or do I bring bait with me? Thanks
So I started fishing longer leader when I fished in MD and VA. I think it all depends on how heavy the current is where you are fishing. Shorter leader works better in RI and Montauk. I like the longer leader in NJ and south
@@PhillyGirlFishing yea I used longer leaders In Rhode Island but I wasn’t feeling the hits that well. my hookup ratio improved with the shorter Leader. But you spend more time on the water wanted to get take on it
@@civic30045 yea I never saw leaders so close to the sinker until I started fishing in RI lol and they were catching biggins lol. Then I went to MD with the same short snafu and caught no keepers until I switched over to the long leader sliding hook 🤣

Try the sound bound boat and charters in Rhode Island for black fish. Keep up the awesome episodes.

Most usually supply you with green crabs and white leggers you usually have to pay before some charters provide both
