Wow, what a beautiful car in NEW condition!!! .... I currently own the last of the very large Caprice Estate Wagons. A maroon 1976 with red interior. Also in like new condition!!! It was the first year for rectangle headlights. My third seat faces forward and my rear window rises upward into the roof. These wagons drive like Cadillacs!!! I'm keeping mine forever.
When the downsized Impala/Caprice was introduced It was the first time the Caprice Wagons had a true Caprice interior In previous years the Caprice Wagon and convertibles had Impala interiors with no upgrade availability.
Beautiful wagon!!! Reminds me of the cars growing up. A couple of friends growing up had these, my mom had a smaller station wagon, she had a 1980 dodge aspen White with the slant six engine and standard shift. That car was a beast and still ran when she got rid of it 20 years later.
I bought an 88 Caprice Estate wagon right off the showroom floor in early ‘88. Identical interior but a slightly lighter copper/brown. What an awesome car!
The BEST looking wagon GM ever produced, loved the 77-79 with the 350V8 We owned 3 of these and they all floated down the highway Best riding car ever! The problem with the late 80s engines were the 307 Olds motor. it was a dog severely under powered for the weight of the vehicle.
My dad bought a late 80’s in 99 or 2000 and it had the 307, was a gas guzzling dog and had a lot of carburetor issues - thing would stall time and time again; it had its function but he was really glad to get rid of it, the guy who sold it to us told us it had no issues but he clearly wasn’t honest - good built car but that 307 was a total disaster
I'm in love! Always wanted me one of those but never managed to get one as I'm in the UK. I've only ever seen two over here and they're in bad shape. Beautiful; you've made my day!
Wow this car brings back a lot of memories my aunt had one exactly!!! like this one lol we had fun in that boat especially in that backseat we used to drive our aunt crazy cause we used to piss off the drivers behind her making faces, flipping people the bird, throwing our candy at the cars behind us dfl we we’re terrible but wow the memories ❤️ I can’t remember how many times people tried to run us off the road cause of us kids dfl😂😂🤣🤣🤣
2:22 - I thought my 2010 Honda Accord was the bees knees because by double clicking the door unlock button on the key remote, one could quickly lower all the windows on a hot day..... Until I saw what you did with the handle on the tailgate of this 1988 stationwagon! After you jiggled the handle or whatever, the rear window recesses, allowing opening of the tailgate, instead of having to run up front to open the window from the dashboard location. Those 1980s car designers knew what cooked! lol
Omg wow I remember my aunt had one just like this one brand new, i also remember hearing her cuss everyday when she’d come home from having to park that big ass boat she hated parking it dfl oh the memories
Gorgeous wagon, perfect other than that 307 olds engine, they loose compression around 100,000 miles, I have had 3 that I have had to replace, but I’m sure that one will last forever in that show quality car.
I agree with you on the Olds 307 engine. In my opinion i think GM tainted the full sized Chevy, and Pontiac wagons when they replaced the Chevy 305 with that engine after 1985. I have driven both wagons with the 305, and the 307. Granted that both engines were not powerhouses the wagons with the 305 were more enjoyable to drive compared to the ones with the 307. Also they were easier to fix. Don't get me wrong the Olds 307 is not an entirely terrible engine. I think it was a good engine from 80-85 until GM choked the performance out of it in later years.
craig1974 , agreed, I had a blue painted one in my 82 lesaber wagon ,and it ran great , they say the non roller engines ran better than the over smogged out 85 up 307s , give me a 305 or a 4.3 any day!
wow my uncle francisco vielma rip was got the sedan 4 door caprice in 1988 beautiful great sedan in wine color so fine elegant he carry us my a aut veva perez my mothers sister my mom and me early day from moclova coah to morelos coah. it was september that year i remembered
Gorgeous!; Akways liked the Caprice Wagons(& Kingswood)until the early 90s. That's when the"dead whale" body style took over, and the *fake* 4-door SS's!
I Had&drove several of these cars,I had 1977 Caprice classic...Wgn..got in 1984 from Russian immigrants GREAT FOLKS,Had 1985 Caprice wgn,1987 it was cheapie put engines in all of them except an 83 Caprice got from Goodwill (guy sold for them), Had 1978,Wow I loved Chevy wgns then got silverado...
I feel like there are two kinds of people.... those that "get" the appeal of these wagons like myself and people who don't . Kind of like SUV's and pickup trucks I know people that love them but I personally don't and have never owned either one.
I don't understand why the caprice wagon had a 307 c.i.d instead of the 305 c.i.d like the coupe and sedan did. with the 307, you lose 30 hp to gain 5 lb ft more torque.
The Chevy 305 with TBI was much better at this point. It was good for around 165 bhp and the throttle was way more responsive. The 307 felt like the throttle linkage was made of marshmallow.

I love this Chevy Caprice wagon 1988 is my year favorite. 1985, 1986 and 1987 is also years favorites
But which one is your favorite-est?
I spent countless hours in one of these growing up. Damn that brought back so many memories
Same here. Its unreal to see it inside again
These are comfortable ads hell, I picked up a 86 Pontiac safari wagon and its a wonderful wagon, gets compliments everywhere I go

Should never have downsized though
They were remarkable vehicles
The '77-'79 Olds and Buicks with the Olds 403 were sweet.

A lot more dependable than today's vehicles
The best thing about owning a woody is asking people in the parking lot if they've seen my woody.
Lol
Very beautifull this Chevrolet Caprice Estate Wagon 1988. I love this wagon. My favorite
i miss these
I'm in love! Always wanted me one of those but never managed to get one as I'm in the UK. I've only ever seen two over here and they're in bad shape. Beautiful; you've made my day!
I got a 87. I wish it shine like that but it runs like a dream

This is a beautiful car my mom had one when I was a kid
That's a swaggin wagon. I love Caprices.
When big heavy V8 sedans were not only made as usual 4-doors, but also coupes and STATION WAGONS. Such a different era, looking back.
Old American classic car, brilliant.
I love classics americans wagons 80s. I love this Chevy Caprice wagon is beautifull and sexy car. For sale? What is the price? Sold?
What a stunning beauty!!! I'm shocked!
GM had nice looking Estate Wagons of the time. Nice cars as the sedans were.

One of the best looking car i ever seen
A real time machine. That's a BRAND NEW car.
Gorgeous wagon, perfect other than that 307 olds engine, they loose compression around 100,000 miles, I have had 3 that I have had to replace, but I’m sure that one will last forever in that show quality car.

Youre right Ive owned 2 of these wagons and those 307 are dogs. The 77-79 came with a 350 4bbl. That's what I want !
That old's motor is the biggest piece of shit. You're EXACTLY correct about they lose compression and everything else after 100k it's a throwaway.
David Garris I would rather have a 4.3 v6 than a 307 olds
What a wonderful sw car 👍
Very nice video made with full heart, awesome machine I always enjoyed driving it (Masha Allah it's so clean from engine ) ❤️💐👍👏💐👍👏
That is a really nice Caprice Estate :)
One of the most reliable fantastic cars ever ever made by GM
Hope they can remanufacture the same models again.
One of the best cars my family ever had
And id b right there with bells on!
Better than new models.
Beautiful wagon i been looking for one for a memory to my dad are you selling it
What a beautiful car! It's sad that they are rare in Europe.
that is one impressive restoration
Best looking w composite headlights.... color too....!
At Least in this generation, the rear glass was retractable as in the door. For early 90s. It was downsized but the 2 way door remained until the end.
I’ve never seen any other of these models have cloth seats in the rear but mine does? It’s the same exterior paint but maroon interior
Muito lindo!!
wow my uncle francisco vielma rip was got the sedan 4 door caprice in 1988 beautiful great sedan in wine color so fine elegant he carry us my a aut veva perez my mothers sister my mom and me early day from moclova coah to morelos coah. it was september that year i remembered

¿Donde puedo encontrar más como éste? Gracias!
BCN
Grew up in one of these
Immaculate
If i had that, i'd love to put an LT1 in it, instead of having the 140 h.p Olds 5.0 Litre.
Should swap out pretty easily. I believe the 5.3 swaps pretty easily. They do it all the time with Cutlasses.

Terrible camera! Warps everything into a fish eye lens. That looks ridiculous. Could not finish watching...
If you want to buy him a new camera, I'm sure he'll try to do a better job of letting you see his car.

What is Islam read and search
beutiful car with a piece of shit engine oldsmobil 307 🤮
The Chevy 305 with TBI was much better at this point. It was good for around 165 bhp and the throttle was way more responsive. The 307 felt like the throttle linkage was made of marshmallow.
