    Great video and a very extensive test for sure! I had great accuracy results with my CVS ACCURA with two bullets touching at 50 yards with 290 gr. Hornady Bore Driver bullets and both White Hots & T 7 Firestarters. I was however disappointed that my one deer I shot back in 2022 gave me a very long chase, and I had to finish her off when I finally located the deer. I'm sure it was shot placement and not the accuracy of the round. That said, I've had good accuracy results with THOR and also Federal B.O.R Locks as well. I only shoot pellets and only use two as I find it's not necessary here in New England to use the 150-grain loadings. Nice job on this test!

    • @suburbanhunt3653
      @suburbanhunt3653  16 дней назад

      290gr by chance was that the FTX? I had a buck run about 50 yards with a good shoulder shot and the projectile was still in him. This was with a 40 yard shot. Granted it went through the left shoulder. If not mistaken the ELD-X came out in 2022. Just wanted to clarify as your experience closely matches with the FTX. Thank you for watching.

    Dj first I want to say thanks for all the info and videos. Spent some time at the range with my CVA accura v2 and went with the Hornady eldx and 150 gr of the I.M.R. white hots got 5 groups all m.o.a. With 2 groups at sub m.o.a. Shot a huge doe lastnight at 147 yards and dropped her on the spot. When I cleaned her out the damage was catastrophic holy cow man!!!!! This is my new load for sure. So thanks again buddy you have Ben so helpful. Hope to meet you someday Rich.

At some point could you do a comparison with say the boredriver ftxs, 150gr t7, and just change primers( 209A, cci, fed 209mz, and cheddite)? I know the 209a made a big difference with Bh209 but I wonder if it has the same effect with pellets. Even just a comparison between the 209a (“the go to”) and cheddite (very widely available) would be great to see.

    • @suburbanhunt3653
      @suburbanhunt3653  11 месяцев назад +1

      The drop depended on the powder charge. During the test I was using the Konus’s 125 yard mark. So the group closer to the top of the target would need very little adjustment while the ones closer to the red bull’s eye would need more. I would imagine only a inch or so adjustment would be needed to get you up and running.

As for comparing loose to pellets....I truly feel there is no comparison. If the are willing to take the time Loose Powder is KING!!!! You will have much more consistent loads with loose. The eldx has it's own jag you can buy. A powerbelt eld jag may work but haven't tried it.

      I was using the standard rod. I chose to do so because I believe that Hornady should have provided it if the accuracy required it. Like the ELRs and others. That being said if the jig helps accuracy… brother watch out she a bad B….😜

    Would you recommend this bullet for elk? Don’t really like how it falls apart. Also are you cleaning the barrel with solvent and the whole 9 yards when changing the powder

      As for the elk I haven’t hunted any with it was I couldn’t say. As for the cleaning.. yes I use a T7 foaming cleaning after each group. Making sure that no ring is left that could effect the next group.

      @@suburbanhunt3653 I’ve been using the pre saturated patches as that’s all I can find near me. But after cleaning my barrel my shots are all over the place until about the 4th shot anything you recommend?

    • @suburbanhunt3653
      @suburbanhunt3653  11 месяцев назад +1

      @@brandon22333 I also used the pre-saturated patches. For the White Hots and Firestars they worked ok. But for the T7 and Pyrodex the T7 foam took out the ring better. As for the clean bore try popping a primer to foul the barrel then test. But if you have to shoot 4 rounds to start getting accurate shots I would suggest testing other combos that like your rifle harmonics. See every shot puts more fouling in the barrel. Doing so changes your harmonics slightly. Apparently yours current combo like the dirtier barrel. But to have to shot 4 rounds then Go to the tree stand…. Ouch.
