Only thing that comes to mind for Elise is running her in a Horsemen deck. Run a deck with almost all spells, but throw in Elise, the two titans Priest has, and Rivendare. Then, if you draw horseman before Elise, then you can use Elise to pull the other three horsemen from your deck, presumably winning once all are dead. But I’m not sure if Priest has enough spells to make that work as highlander.
So as a small clarification for the snake oil, its a 0 mana spell with tradeable that does 0 damage. This does mean things like Spell Damage can increase its power, turning it into a 0 mana burn spell potentially
Regarding the hearthstone and MTG parallels in sets, I found that to be pretty recurring. Back in 2017 for example, MTG released the original Ixalan, and then hearthstone also released Ungoro. And then in 2020 hearthstone released solomance, and early 2021 mtg released strixhaven. I'm sure there are other themes where they're similar and released on a similar timeline too. Maybe WOTC and blizzard are info leaking to each other 😂
I just find it so funny that the kobold miner is a 1/1, but the skeleton crew, which is basically that same kobold but as an undead skeleton, is a 3/3.
That 2 mana 2/2 neutral add a copy of the next spell you draw. I think is gonna be played a lot. Feels like a good minion in secret decks. Or value decks. I prefer getting a copy of a spell I put in my deck than discovering a random spell
So with regards to the Jailer change, yeah, it's kinda a dead card now, but the change was needed for wild. There were a few combos that got pretty toxic with it that more or less locked down the board state or effectively gave the hero immune unless you could wipe the board. And while I'd hardly call the combos metegame warping, they were very unfun to play against. Jailer needs to do more, but full board immunity isn't it.
My elementary school in rural Alabama had square dancing as part of the curriculum. It’s hilarious to me that it was because of rock and roll music and it just never got looked at twice since inception in that district.
1:08:59 New Brewmaster does also trigger your minions’ Quickdraw effects, since it puts them in your hand that turn. Worth considering in the Quickdraw expansion.
That's a really good point. Plague DK with Helya literally just shuts off highlander cards permanently. Kinda weird decision to bring that back with it still in standard. Plus, the Hunter one is just not interesting. It's essentially pre-nerfed Prison Breaker, except with at added benefit of being like Olgra in a class that doesn't really have that many hand buffs. Unless new cards are printed that make it better, I don't think it will see play. The Shaman one, I'm pretty sure will see play, but, depending on how popular it is, it might bring back a viper meta
If Paladin gets some powerful big spells, Dryscale Deputy can be used with Order in the Court to great effect. Alongside The Leviathan for dredge as well.
I loved playing Highlander Hunter. I hope they bring Zephrys in the modern iteration - even if the entire HS software team has to be assigned to work on optimizing Zephrys effect.
I really want to make an ogre package deck for demonhunter with rush the stage and halveria, but I'm not sure it's good enough. I wonder if it can be fit into the reliquary deck.
Can't say I'm a fan of hitting druid so hard. Yes, it's obviously way too strong right now but it's almost exclusively due to yogg (and prisonbreaker to a lesser extent) being broken; the class was pretty much non-existant before the miniset hit and by hitting the druid cards and yogg at the same time it could kill the class entirely. Might be looking at a sunken city warrior nerf situation
i love that you have a different take on corpse farm (12:59). i've seen regis do a quick review and his estimation was exactly the other way around. he see's the potential of a lowroll and much rather have a simple 8/8 statst like corpse bride delivers than a 3mana 8cost-lowroll. both of you concentrade on exactly the other end of the spectrum of rolls :)
Im glad Druid got a hit. Druid players won too easy with such a predictable linear deck. Even if you managed to rat their big cards, they could still deal 30+ damage with windfury and damage boost. Looking forward to play Vs players who actually deserve their rank.
Rainbow currently can refer to Death Knight or Mage decks, that have some focus on playing varieties of something. Rainbow Death Knight plays cards from all three of its runes, and Rainbow Mage tries to play a lot of different spells schools (frost, fire, arcane, etc.).
I'm a bit confused as to where are the balance change thoughts. Since I already had a cards review from Trump, I don't really want to watch the 1h25 video about that.
Kibler decided to sit down for this one I see
there he goes ah sittin again
Sitdown in the Badlands

I would just run the silence all minions tech to counter that bs

Good point. Maybe that 1 mana 2/2 could fit in a Sif deck.
hunter has a spell that adds spell damage to the next spell
Just wanted to say that I recently got back into HS after a lengthy period away and have been really enjoying your content, Brian. Keep it coming! 😅

Saloon Brewmaster is pretty nice with the Azerite Chain Gang. Talk about good stats for the cost.
Don’t forget scholomance coming out at a similar time as strixhaven
The original reference for Maw and Paw, the painting "American Gothic" by Grant Wood, is actually of a farmer and his *daughter*, not his wife.
I just find it so funny that the kobold miner is a 1/1, but the skeleton crew, which is basically that same kobold but as an undead skeleton, is a 3/3.
This thumbnail hits right in the feels because I remember when Kibler used to do it with little Shiro 🤍
Thanks for your time in reviewing each card man

Can’t wait for Rainbow Highlander Renathal Death Knight
skipped the azurite rat when talking about Reksa! excavate the rat for 0, combo with Reksa
theres been a handful more shaman cards revealed but theyre not on the site for some reason, they have translations on hearthstone top decks
I was taught how to Square Dance in the early 2000s in Elementary School, so it was alive and well for a while. Which is odd

Pile of bones with death growl could be interesting
16:42 If you consider cards like Horn of Winter and Howling Blast, Frost does have a mana chest theme

Seeing all these value filled cards makes me happy

I wish it could've been hit even harder.
Kibler having miracle flashbacks PepeHands
Keep up the good work Kibler
Really hope they'll add a Highlander card for Death Knight in a miniset
Excavating is going to be great, calling it now
I feel like there are two humans alive today that could rebirth the Arena Mode in Hearthstone, Kripp & you my good sir. Here’s to hoping.! 🤞🤞
Thunderbringer has to be some what related to Thundermare and Timbermare from MTG in regards to the art and name.
For priest I feel like Elise and the bottle cards are a lot better than people suspect.

Identity thief was bad enough, Benevolent banker on my symphony of sins, instant concede
Theotar still in rotation too
I remember line dancing in school 😂
kibler was great...as always :)
I’m very happy that every class doesn’t have access to a 0 mana mind control now.
Im glad Druid got a hit.

Trapdoor Spider + Ramming Mount is gonna make some people ragequit in wild.
Okay that's funny
Funny how often the neutral cards are pulled from about 2017.
Why do they call it a rainbow deck? Haven’t played HS since 2019

You just skiped the Legendary card who resurect the DK 20 mana and broken everything
Had no idea where the name highlander deck came from. Cheers
Theldurin shouldve been warrior card
What the dog doin
Anomilies killed this game for me
I'm a bit confused as to where are the balance change thoughts. Since I already had a cards review from Trump, I don't really want to watch the 1h25 video about that.
Right at the beginning?
first
You're right. The Ramp Druid / Arcane Hunter meta is unplayable. Super boring.
No walking this time. Good. It's super weird and distracting.
