You know, and I think that Everyone would agree, Stairway to Heaven is the Greatest Song ever written and I could listen to it all day everyday. It's so good and perfect and everything.
It amazing that someone hasn't actually attempted to do this! I loved the old K-Tel record commercials. I think I just dated myself! I'm the only one that does! Lol
I always wanted a commercial like "Where were you when you first heard "hits from the bong" or something like that. I am always making K-Tel scenarios.
When you hear a radio station playing "Stairway to Heaven," it probably means the DJ is on a bathroom break! "They'd laugh at you, but not because of your looks..."
"Luciano Pavarotti" performing "Stairway to Heaven" sounds much like in the same style as the late, great Karel Gott performing "Rot und Schwarze", the fabulous German language cover of "Paint it Black".
I would never have thought as a teenager watching SCTV and later Kids in the Hall and Mr. Show after that that my generation was making it's own profound and brilliant impact on comedy. Now it's all Mancia types only worried about being cool. Not funny.
Due to scheduling and time constraints, the Melonville Baker Boys, aka Earl Camembert and sidekick, Monster, Chiller, Horror Theatre's Count Floyd were not allowed to reprise their hoary an' old ditty..'Stairway to Leaven'..
Here's a fun fact, Jimmy Page played lead guitbox on two or three songs on a very early Al Stewart album. At this time in his career Jimmy Page was an in demand session musician.
RIP to the Great, Joe Flaherty. 😢
From Guy Cabalero to Count Floyd , totally underrated !

Slim Whitman always breaks me up...After a few brews the laughter tears are rollin' eh! Beauty!
Yeah, same here only without the brewskis...!
Didn't they have Slim Whitman in the Indira musical too?
No , it's Beauty eh ! Did you have a beer while wearing a hockey jersey on , when you said it ?
These people were geniuses.
I bet that Devo cover would have been epic!
I'm old enough to get the Rich Little joke!
If you went to a record store they'd laugh at you..
SCTV...the best ensemble comedy of all time
I wonder how many people sent money.
Wonderful attention to detail: The LP is cued to the right place for the song.
I would have loved to hear Slim Whitman do this song!
I’ll Never Forget how I Fell Apart the first time that I saw this a kid! absolute comedic Brilliance, like so many more of their sketches!
I would buy this album in an instant.
I've just ordered the 8-track, since they didn't seem to know what a CD is.
I so want to the hear Devo version.
A 5 Neat Guys version would have been icing on the cake!!!!
OMG I’m dying 😂😂-SCTV was the best!!!!
I gotta have it. If just for The Village People with Rod McKuen.
It amazing that someone hasn't actually attempted to do this! I loved the old K-Tel record commercials. I think I just dated myself! I'm the only one that does! Lol
Oh no my friend! I grew up in front of the boob tube. I remember all those K-Tel commercials. I miss them.
I always wanted a commercial like "Where were you when you first heard "hits from the bong" or something like that. I am always making K-Tel scenarios.
A couple of my earliest LPs were K-Tel records.
COMIC GENIUS!!!!
This is as good as "Gordon Lightfoot Sings Every Song Ever Written."
"If you asked for this in a store, they would laugh at you. Not because of your looks..."
When you hear a radio station playing "Stairway to Heaven," it probably means the DJ is on a bathroom break!
"They'd laugh at you, but not because of your looks..."
They'd play "American Pie" if they had to snap off a few chocolate torpedos.
Slim Whitman and Buffy St Marie killed me in this one!
Five Neat Guys……😅
The Pavarotti version is hilarious!
30 versions at 33 1/3!!
4 neat guys, they shopped Candy out.
But why?!
It may have been on the season when John left before he returned.
John was not in that season.
Only 4 Neat Guys in the picture? Lol. I remember watching this 40 years ago, Pavarotti is the best, I'll never forget that. Thanks for posting!
John Candy was not in the 1980-81 season so his image was not in the photo.
John Candy was not in the season the the sketch was in.
John was not on the show at the time.

rich little's interpretation is almost hard to believe
I'm glad they got the original cast of Beatlemania to do a reunion before their John Lennon died.
I want the Rich Little version.

Dolly Parton did an excellent cover IRL.
Due to scheduling and time constraints, the Melonville Baker Boys, aka Earl Camembert and sidekick, Monster, Chiller, Horror Theatre's Count Floyd were not allowed to reprise their hoary an' old ditty..'Stairway to Leaven'..
Beleive it or not Dolly Parton covered Stairway in 2002
The Village People with Rod McKuen. 🤣 Most people in this day and age wouldn't get that.
Smokey Robinson!
The only person missing is the legendary crooner Tom Monroe.
Tha would have been a hoot.He might have sung it in the same chord as his other covers.
Didn’t the Happy Wanderers do a cover of Stairway to Heaven as part of their “Rock & Roll, Schmenge-Style” special?
"Stairway To Heaven" by The Chipmunks?
Here's a fun fact, Jimmy Page played lead guitbox on two or three songs on a very early Al Stewart album. At this time in his career Jimmy Page was an in demand session musician.
how about a Stomping Tom version
I'd pay to see him play that!
Record executives are lower than Jerry Lewis when you miss the cry cue.
Not a bad idea
😂😂😂
