its not the best platform to modify tbh, if the Q's have the same tranny as G's then you'll need to rebuild it with stronger parts etc, better off getting the 3.0tt since the turbo's are already there.

They’re not all that slow with the 3.7. Granted it’s a heavy car, but they have good transmissions and with basic bolt ons will make over 300whp so it’s not exactly a turd. I do like my Vr30 Q more than my previous VQ37 Q, especially tuned, but they are both really nice moderately priced sport sedans.

I have a hybrid q50 and it's the best of both worlds :D it has a 3.5l so still sounds the same as a 3.7, but also has the extra 80-90hp from the electric motor. More than enough to keep up with 3.0ts and 5.0s

Not trying to fan boy I love most cars and can dig anything besides evs and super stanced cars but. Find a car that’s better or same price with better reliability and performance just saying like 🤷♂️ I love v8s and german cars but when you can get a used g for around 9k maybe an older q for 13 to 14 with moderate miles and put down close numbers and even beat a lot of cars that are twice the price sometimes 3 times the price in most fields with mild mods. People hate on the underdog it’s not some feat of god when your 40 to 80 thousand dollar muscle or German car barely puts 1 car length on a car that cost a quarter of the price. Plus the gs and qs can take abuse other than the transmission which on some occasions due to Nissans quality control can be ethier great or terrible.
Touché, I traded my 2015 3.7 Q50s. Had the Infiniti Motorsports exhaust on it….got the 2017 Redsport and haven’t looked back in 7 years of ownership. Same issues as your with blend door actuator, etc.
On some real shit its a good motor but really no different from a j series, ford cyclone, chryslers pentastar, gms lqx. Most manufacturers nowadays have very peppy vvl and vvt n/a v6’s that sound good when modded. Now the vr30 is a whole different animal. It gets sickening to drive a n/a car for a while when everyone around you has a boosted car. I can say from experience those n/a v6 motors are reliable, fun, quick, cheap, but its lacking something. REAL SPEED, I could spend a ton if my money to get it where I want or I could do the smarter option and sell it for something better. When I think of something better I think of the vr30 or a n55. Thats a real step up towards the right direction.

The Q 7spd auto has far less lag than the G trans and I’m not sure what numbers you were looking at but the base Q (in this video) is lighter than the G37 coupe. The base Q is just over 3500 lbs while the lightest G coupe I see is over 3600. Styling is obviously subjective, but if you’re looking at performance overall, especially if considering stock or basic upgrades, the Q50 is a better car. I’m a huge g37 fan, but i can’t deny the numbers.

Easiest motors I've ever worked on and they can hit 300k easily if you kept up with proper maintenance . I've owned 06 maxima( vq35de) , 08 g35( vq35hr) and a 08 g37 coupe( vq37vhr. ) best v6s ever
