    Johnny Vaughan is a bloody genius - the most entertaining purpose I have ever heard. Used to wake up early in the school holidays to see him do the paper review on the Big Breakfast 20 odd years ago. A true one off. If I were a billionaire I would give JV a million.

      Just seen this. Johnny Vaughan at his best. TJ on it! He’s a comic genius to be honest , not just his timing but the stuff that man knows. He’s won science awards , knows so much about history , geography, TV and obviously radio as I listen to his podcast every week. Brilliant. He knows or is related to people who’ve achieved great things like down the line his ancestor designed and created the Rolls Royce engine or something like that. He’s witty, quick off the mark and just a geezer really. Remember other week someone on his show I think Sumter mentioned a year something happened he had to say he didn’t see much as was “ in the big house. At her majesty’s pleasure”. Fucking loon back in the day did 4 years for Coke.

      Plus the accents he does and impressions. Glenn Hoddle is a classic. Yorkshire accent too and it’s not bad as I’m from there. Miss the two slaughter men from years back him and Gavin doing two Lancashire / Yorkshire accents about meat and stuff. Was fucking insane.

    Because of this national humiliation, the Outcasts Motorcycle Club concocted a plan to assassinate Johnny Vaughan, but they encountered a catastrophic leather failure which scuppered them. Turns out that Ken should have bought 4 books.

    I had never seen Johnny Vaughan before this, and I now officially have a crush on him (or at least him as he was eight or nine years ago, when this aired -- although this would hardly make him unattractive to me in and of itself, as I am for the most part a grave-robber -- but one cannot generally predict who will or will not let himself go). I wish that he appeared more regularly on the sort of British gameshows (as this is not really a gameshow -- I wonder how I ought to classify it...) that I watch, as he is entertaining and funny. I quite enjoy this program, and wish that it had run for more than two series. It is pretty obvious that the guests are encouraged to, for the most part, present a heterogeneous selection of shows -- and are not allowed to choose anything that a previous guest already has. Guilty pleasures with a lot of camp-potential seem to rank highly on the list of priorities*.
    *Although: is it really camp if it is intentionally ridiculous, the way it clearly was in something like "Barbarella" (1968) or "Death Race 2000" (1975)? And surely, the creators of "The Littlest Groom" (featured in the Alan Davies episode) and "Flavor of Love" (featured in the Jimmy Carr episode) were well aware of the hilarity that such a setup would yield (especially if the people behind the scenes manufactured situations to encourage the participants to be at their most ridiculous and outrageous -- although, if the clips are anything to go by -- this appears to have been much less the case in "The Littlest Groom" than "Flavor of Love", the makers of which, I submit, took extra pains to recruit the most tarty and irascible and also reasonably-attractive women that they could find, whose propensity for violence was great, but stopped short of being dangerous -- as many figures as a reality-show murder would -- alas -- inevitably draw, no producer wants to risk his life being destroyed by being prosecuted for manufacturing such a dangerous situation.
    My favorite quotes:
    "Things in rubbish bins usually *are* free. In fact -- I'm gonna give it to you straight -- they're usually *free*!",
    "NO, we can FIGHT BACK!" (It is funny in context. *smile*)

    • @elbecko7969

      Yeah. He's funny, but he's also quite intense and domineering and I believe that's why he was apparently difficult to work with. Personal taste, but I prefer Sean Lock's rhythm. Johnny's sitcom with Ricky Grover was good though

    • @Gubalicious
      @Gubalicious 3 года назад

      Johnny is a radio presenter and a very good one at that. He is hilarious on the radio. Its a different medium and type of humour where he is the lead. It's what he does for a living. Sean was great on this because he could just sit back and let others be funny and laugh while still being funny himself.

    • @neilmoore5387
      @neilmoore5387 Год назад +1

      Simple reason is Johnny is funnier, more charisma, a lad , more of a character , a highly intelligent man. Sean Lock may have been some of those things but not all. I liked him on panel shows but thought his stand up was terrible. Other people will get his humour on his stand up it’s just not for me. Sean Locke RIP.
