So glad you guys are watching this, when I commented recommending this show over a year ago I never thought you’d actually start it, I’m watching it through for the 15th (yes fifteenth) time. I love this show!
It may be common now, but back then it wasn't that often that you saw a stereotypically labeled "bully" show some humanity on TV and actually have a reason to be so self-destructive. It's crazy how these characters will develop over this show and how wrong your first impressions were.
Yes, this show does a good job showing that we are all the same just different.

Sayid said something like "Thank god for fireworks smugglers" when he took out the fireworks, so someone was just smuggling fireworks in their luggage.

Sawyer never said he had it, everyone else was just assuming he had it because they think he’s the «bad guy», so in order for them to learn a lesson he didn’t defend himself.

The kiss was a bit extra. I feel like they were playing it up for the audience/to push a romantic triangle while disregarding that she thought he was holding the medicine and blackmailing for a kiss. Who would want to make out with someone who was like that?

The reason to me that Sawyer wasted their time by not telling is that everbody treated him as they already "knew" it was him that got the medicine, while he had nothing to do with it. Any normal person wouldn't take this lack of trust and accusing assumption very nicely either

Yes. And the level of stupidity on display in this episode was amazing. Sawyer didn't help matters by simply stating where he found the book.
Also, why were you guys making these assumptions about what was going to happen to Sayid? Why? You just watched an episode about four characters making an assumption about one particular character. Then your response was to make your own assumptions about Sayid's future. Couldn't you have waited to see what would happen to him in the following episodes?
