  • it's a simple process.
    Pigs disturb the pasture.
    we overseed an annual.
    Pigs stir in the seed.
Pigs rotate away allowing the forage to grow.
We use an herbivore to harvest the high value annual as the better converter of forages to meat.
    repeat the process.

Farmers complain that the price for fertilizer has gone up dramatically. You my Sir have followed nature's way and will profit handsomely. This because you believe in, we and not me. Bravo.

You have grass already this year. That looks awesome. Those cows made it through the winter and look really good. Snow and 40 degrees in Wisconsin. Peter from Vindicator brand

I’m glad you posted this. I have an area I would like to try this on for goats. I typically broadcast deer mixes but they don’t take as well without soil prep which the pigs could provide.

That's a good way to do it👍 never thought of that, use the pigs to soft/ losing up the dirt so new plants and spread their roots instead trying to spread roots in compacted ground. Sides it's for pasture who cares how rough it may be. We have old pasture that still shows the old evidence where trees once lived and blow out at 200 + years ago but our cows graze on them just fine. Plus I think it helps on their muscles/ joints by moving different directions/ different angles to switch their muscles but I could be wrong. Plus it also a way of using what God created.

Agreed, often its us humans who worry about a smooth pasture the most. Animals don't care.

@@FarmBuilder exactly it's because most generally the farmer or master of whatever you call it? Has to go over the pasture for you know the thing that's called "maintaining" either it's due to spreading fertilizer, or lime, or spreading poo. I had to hand spread some our cow's rotted poo over our areas where it's to rough for a spreader naturally the grass came back nice and dark green and the cow's loved it of course. Last but not least for a long story short we found out that give the grass some growth time the cow's loves it even more able to take big mouthfuls plus don't have to eat as much grass at 4 to 5, 6 inches tall vs only half an inch if that even. But other then that thanks for replying back p,s have a good Easter.
