Multi-species grazing can also be useful in breaking up the parasite load, particularly for goats and sheep. Many parasites are species specific, so if haemonchus eggs hatch from the goat feces and are ingested by cattle instead of goats, it's a dead end for the parasite and it's removed from the cycle.

One of the biggest benefits is grazing different parts of the plant and also totally different plants, many more woodier plants are good fodder for goats yet unsuitable and sometimes inedible to sheep
