Man With Axe Attacks 4 in Chinese Restaurants: Cops

- Blood-stained paper napkins lined the floor of a restaurant after a violent attack in Auckland, New Zealand. Police say a man with an axe entered three different Chinese restaurants and started attacking people. Authorities believe he acted alone and do not believe the attacks to be racially motivated. The four victims who sustained injuries in the attacks were taken to the hospital. At least one has since been released, officials said.

So, let me get this straight. If someone attacks me with an axe they can just say I wasn’t trying to kill you, just do some bodily harm. This guy was trying to kill people for sure.
At least in New Zealand that seems to be the case.

I may be wrong but i think both charges of attempted murder and the one he was charge with have similar if not the same charge. both carry a max sentence of 14 years

It was a Chinese national that did it, and the 7 injured were Chinese, just look up the attack on RUclips, you’ll find at least 3 different videos that give more info on this attack

That's attempted murder.. Why only one charge?
They always charge with a lesser crime to keep him locked up. Then proceed with the investagation, to later upgrade the charge. I think they do this so the defence council can't use a downgrading of a charge, to show police incompetence at trial.

with the amount of high chairs those restaurants have all the customers had to do was pickup those chairs and fight back. Just don't get it.... if I was eating and saw a man with an ax in the restaurant I would immediately pick up the high chair and ready to defend myself or attack the man with the ax if he was attacking someone randomly.

It actually ranks the 129 least safe country to live in out if 163, and the biggest reason for kids dying, is gun death.
