Trans & hydro fluid are one in the same on the tractors. I flushed and changed it at 200 hours due to the amount I lost the first time when changing my hydro filter. After talking to my dealer they said the next time I would need to change is around 800-1000 hours depending on use.
@@DudeRanchDIY Gotcha...thanks! Just getting ready for my 400 mile maintenance and was going through my parts list before getting started. You video was very helpful...thanks my friend! We love our L3901 and RTV900!

I made floor mats from a rubber stall mat from Tractor Supply. Kubota sells mats now for about $150.00. Stall mat is about $30. I understand there is a rubber air vent under the seat that if plugged with a round object just a little bigger than the hole you will lose very little hydraulic fluid.

Good video. I got some very nice mats for my L3901 from ITC quick attach they don’t cover the hump but I’m thinking of taking it off a spraying it with bed liner. Also I like your grill guard is it a 511?
Thanks I’ll have to check those mats out…yeah I’ve thought about bed lining that panel as well though I’d prefer something not as permanent. Yep the grille guard is from 511, I love it. Very high quality.
Always helps to pressure was or give the tractor a good bath before doing the service to keep everything clean. And why not just change the hydraulic fluid while your at it
Front bearings? I hope I’ll never have to change those. Changing the front axle case oil will happen at 800 hours. Beyond that the front end is pretty much maintenance free beyond greasing.
@@DudeRanchDIY little tip for ya ,if that tractor has hydraulic fluid in the front axle "which is what they came out with" regular gear oil is recommended "per kubota" yes bearings are an issue because of this
This is not true, according to the service manual change filters and fluid at 50 hrs, then every 400 after that. if you changed them at 200 and then not again until 800 is out of spec. changing fluid and filters early never hurts though but the filters should be changed at the same time as the fluid.@@DudeRanchDIY
Floor mats for the L3302 fit perfect. Great video, thanks.
Jake I always enjoy the voice over explanations of what you are doing! Please keep going with this format! Nice job on the service action!
Thanks for the feedback!! I’ll keep it in mind for future videos!
The stuck 5 gallon bucket trick was priceless. Good job on the whole video.
Thanks, amigo.
At 400 hrs. aren't you supposed to drain/change the trans fluid as well?

Great work…do you have a separate video of making all the adjustments? i.e, fan belt adjustment, clutch adjustment, toe-in?
No, I’ve never had to adjust any of those things.

nice video, the L3902 mat fits the 3901 fyi.
Cool trick on the shop vac. Wish I would have known about that 2 days ago haha
Yeah it worked surprisingly well. Thanks for watching Adam.
Nice job with the shop vac. That’s an old mechanics trick for replacing the drain plug washer without changing the oil.
Thanks Elliot, I hadn’t heard of it before for that use. I’m sure it works well.
now that the L3902 is out with rubber floor mats they will fit the 3901 as well.

I’d like to get or make some my pain is all scratched up on the floor boards

This was an excellent video and I'll be saving it. My only criticism is to include part numbers for each item you replaced, otherwise, excellent job!!
Thanks, I’ll try to get part numbers next time
Great vid....thx
Glad you enjoyed it
So you don’t have to replace [change out) the hydraulic fluid at 400hrs?
My dealer techs didn’t find it to be necessary since I did the 50 hour change.
just hit 400, need to order parts and do this
Aren’t you supposed to empty and replace the hydraulic fluid at 400 hours?
Cleaver shop vac tip. Thanks
You bet
As a thought..put heavy srean like material over hole of drain pan
I am confused, my maintenance check list says change the transmission fluid at 400 hrs. and the transmission and hydraulic fluid are one and the same.
Yeah when I did an earlier service I accidentally lost a bunch of hydraulic fluid and ended up just changing it all right then and there.

So do you run 10/30 all year round?
Yes
Doing mined today. Doing the front axe and the three filters and changing the Hydraulic oil. Came to $317.00 with tax here in Upstate NY.
Yep sounds about right, good luck!

I don’t have a 4701

My 2650 is change hydraulic oil at 400 hrs
I did my hydraulic oil at 200 hours, after talking to my dealer they recommend fully draining and changing the hydraulic oil next around 1,000 hours.
@@DudeRanchDIY Interesting! I figured the dealers would follow Kubotas recommendations. She’s ready to go for the summer now.

what's with the shop vac? you are supposed to change oil the hydraulic oil at every 400 hours. drain that shit at all locations.
I had messed up at a previous service interval and drained all that hydraulic oil already around 300 hours so I didn’t change it here.
so if you had already replaced the oil why replace the filters if you had already done that?@@DudeRanchDIY
Because the filters require changing at more frequent intervals than the entire hydraulic fluid system
