    This is such a brilliant and helpful video, thank you for putting it together! Hoping to apply this year for 2021, going into my last year at university so this is my last shot fingers crossed 🤞🤞

      Thanks Emma! I'm glad it helped. As the program was cancelled for this summer, I know some people will be deferring their places and going in summer 2021, so there might be less jobs available than usual. I'm sure you will still have a good chance, though!

    This video has just put all my thoughts into words!! I was unsuccessful last year because I was so cocky that I would get through, (because obviously I love Disney duh!!) that I didn't prepare very well. Hopefully my story is similar to yours and I get in this year!! It's been so much of a learning curve.

    • @LisaPreece
      @LisaPreece  7 лет назад +1

      Ohannahmeansfamily Yes! It really does happen to the best of us. If you can, try to get some relevant experience this summer and I'm sure you'll smash the next round of applications! Best of luck!

    Fabulous video as always, still can't believe someone said pumbaa 😂.
    It's so true that your answers in the second interview inform your role choice.
    All my answers pointed towards quick service, (and I didn't realise ) I've worked in retail for years, and busy companies for that matter. But I was trying to sell the idea of trying something new such as attractions, however they don't want to be employing people to try new things during the busiest period of the year! They want people with experience in those roles!
    Thankyou again for all your advice during the application process! -
    (Her tips work guys! I got the job ) 😭😂

      Aw thanks Sabrina! And thanks for making sure I didn't loose my 100% success rate with my application tips. I was very similar! I didn't realise that I was making myself sound perfect for Quick Service until afterwards! It's such a fun role, though.

    I've just applied for the Cultural Representatives Program, which is a 12 month contract! This video was really helpful for me and has put my mind at ease if I do get an interview! It's so competitive, so I'm not holding my breath, but you never know! Haha!

    I want to apply for next year but I'm pretty lost with the application procedures.
    1. Im turning 18 on December, should I wait till I am 18 to apply?
    2. When are the dates that you can apply and what is the website?
    3. In the website it says that you have to send in your curriculum, but I don't have any previous working experience, what should I put? Is that the online interview you were talking about?
    4. Are there different periods for the program, for example during summer or winter?
    5. What types of jobs could I get?
    6. I live in Argentina, do all the countries apply for this program?
    I'm sorry that this was so long, hope you can answer.
    btw I love your videos

    • @LisaPreece
      @LisaPreece  6 лет назад +1

      Sofi Merlino - Hi Sofi, thanks for your comment! You might be best finding out which company manages Disney recruitment in Argentina - you can usually find that from the Disney International Careers website.
      They usually need you to be 18 at the time of application, and sometimes enrolled in university.
      The dates for applying and doing the programme will be different because you’re not in the UK, but I’d guess the main program is still in summer. With the program I did, you could get jobs in merchandise, attractions and food & beverage as the main options.
      Do you have any part-time job experience? Even something like baby sitting or looking after younger family members could help your application.
      Good luck!

    It’s so difficult to get a visa nowadays and I’m so annoyed!! This is my absolute dream, and living in England is making the very difficult! I have a few years yet though, so hopefully things change around, or I will be gutted!

    • @LisaPreece
      @LisaPreece  4 года назад +1

      You're guaranteed a visa if you get onto any of the Disney programmes run by Yummy Jobs, so that's probably the best way. Good luck!

    This was so helpful! I’m planning to apply this year for 2019. I’m from Canada but I was born in Europe, so in my cover letter should I talk about where I was born and Canada (where I am now)? Also do you need a lot of experience because I worked as a lifeguard for 2 years and I wanted to apply for the lifeguard position there would that help that I already worked as one? Sorry for so many questions I just want to get in my first try so I wanna be prepared as much as possible!

    • @LisaPreece
      @LisaPreece  6 лет назад

      Allie Mohn - That’s really exciting! If you’re applying in Canada, I’d focus on that. And then throw in something about how you feel connected to Europe and want to share your experiences of living there and find out about people who live there.
      Being a lifeguard will definitely help! All experience is good experience. Mention how it made you hardworking and good at time keeping etc as that will be useful for all the roles. Good luck!

    I'm not sure if you're still responding to these videos! but how far in advance did you apply for the summer of 2014?

    • @LisaPreece
      @LisaPreece  4 года назад +1

      Applications generally open in August/September, then interviews are in October/November/December to work out there the following summer :)

    Hi! I am hoping to apply in the next round of submissions for the cultural exchange program! I am wondering if you have a choice as to how long your program is, and if not, what is the standard length of the program for most people? Thanks!

    • @LisaPreece
      @LisaPreece  6 лет назад

      Best of luck! It's usually early June to late August. Everyone works for the same length of time of about three months, so it's a really good amount of time. Back when I did it, it was a bit shorter and it went so quickly!

    I'm mixed race so I don't really have one specific place that I'm from, I've just kinda of lived all over the place. If I go to an English uni or a university in America or canada, can I still talk about and represent my own culture(s), or is it about where I'm going to university. It's a little confusing😂

    • @LisaPreece
      @LisaPreece  7 лет назад +1

      Queen Eliane Ooh you sound very well-travelled! I think you could talk about them all, but highlight the culture that you feel almost strongly connected to and know the most about. As long as you have passion for what you're talking about, you'll be fine ✨

    So I have an attendance reprimand from my past program and wanted to ask you if you've met anyone who got rehired after ending their past program with one, I'm replaying and I'm nervious I'll be rejected for it

    • @LisaPreece
      @LisaPreece  6 лет назад

      I'm sorry, I didn't even hear of anyone with an attendance reprimand, so definitely no-one who worked there again! Best of luck with your application

  • @hannaht8005

    How much did you end up spending to do this?

    • @LisaPreece
      @LisaPreece  4 года назад

      It probably cost around £1,000 for the application fees, visa and flights. Once I was at Disney, I mostly lived off my wages plus a bit extra for treats. Then I spent money travelling for 10 days at the end
