    This makes me sad, I worked at World of Disney during my DCP in 2016, and I absolutely loved it! There was no focus on making sales like you mentioned, it was a completely different experience. Hopefully once all the construction is finished at WOD it will go back to focusing on making magic!

      Jordanne Morrow sadly what I talked about with next level courtesy started at WOD last summer and they’re only spreading it further across the resort as time goes by 😔

    I’m just like you!!! I was stationed at WOD spring 2019. I absolutely hated it, and I wasn’t going to let that ruin my program so I worked in over 40 different locations and worked at world of Disney a handful of times! I really enjoyed this video it took me back

    I ate at the Crystal Palace 2 days ago, on the table 2 places away from ours was a little girl. It was her birthday ( I know coz they sang happy birthday to her ) and she had gone to Bibbiti Bobbiti Boutique. She looked so cute and Pooh Bear was skipping around with her in the celebrations. The interactions they had were soooooo cuuuutttteeee!!!!!! Disney truly is magical ❤️❤️

    Hey Emily, just found your channel, and it is cute and fun. We love MouseGear (and Epcot in general). Funny story about HTH Gift Shop. A couple years ago, during night time Xtra Magic at HS we rode Tower a couple times in a row. The folks in the shop were super nice and it was super slow in the shop, so we started playing the special edition Jenga game with one of them at the counter. We probably played about 10 or 15 minutes & all had fun. Love CMs like that. Thanks for sharing.

    Hey, I was an opening team cast member for Big Top. Pretty sure there are just a handful of opening cast left, but sorry you didn’t have a great time. I miss that place so much. I can’t believe the store was quiet! That never seemed to happen except during party nights towards the end of the night. Then your next place, FWS, was my college program location. Pretty sure I know a few people there still. Loved being at pin central the most, the character cart and pin cart, not so much. 😄

    Hey Emily! Thank you so much for this video it is incredibly helpful! I've just been accepted for the Australian DCP in merchandise and am so excited about the trading aspect of the job :DDD Did you at all have to get traded shifts approved by disney? Like for example when you agreed to swap shifts with someone on the Facebook group did you have to contact managers to let them know you've traded? Also how often were you able to swap your shift a week? (were you able to swap every shift or did you have to work a certain amount of time in your home location?) Thank you again I really love your channel and it's helped me so much through the application process and everything!

    High pressure sales techniques make me so uncomfortable and angry that I will boycott a place for life...Like Lush I will never buy a Lush prodect or even take one for free even online because they assault you and make you want to hide. They even demo on people without permission and I dont blame the workers I blame the company for making the workers do things like that. I feel that the vast majority of people do not care for that sort of thing and will leave in a rush without buying anything once those 3 refusals start up. I have left a store that I fully intended to buy a good bit of merch from because they tried to force sell me things to the point I didnt even want to be there at all

    I noticed that you almost always (sorry not sure) had a pin trading lanyard on. What do other Cast Members think of pin trading? I really don’t like it when Cast Members have a scrapper as their mystery pin because I’m trading a real pin for it. Do they know about all the scrapper (garbage) pins that are being traded?

    • @emilyswanderland
      @emilyswanderland  5 лет назад +1

      We love pin trading!! It's so fun and a quick, easy way to interact with guests. It's pretty sucky if a cast member puts their worst pin as a mystery one and they shouldn't do that generally

    I went to disney this year twice for the first time in about 5-6 years (although i have been there about 30 times).. The last time i had gone "disney springs" was downtown disney... I was SO disappointed with what they had done to the place. There are only like 2 main disney stores, and everything else is like a regular mall... So upsetting. I loved the Mr. Potato head factory growing up where you could build your own potato head, and then do the parade... Really sad, but I guess the profit is what mattered.
