1st class workmanship despite the crude methods and lack of proper fixturing of the workpiece. Notice how much the bow head flexes when the pernambuco tenon is chiseled down, I am surprised it didn’t break then. Unfortunately this type of repair will always be visible to the naked eye.
This is the only way to repair a broken head. Unfortunately since the grains are no longer aligned, the sound will be affected. No choice. But well done. The use of file made me nervous.
@@old-violin-international Sorry, I didn't take videos for those repairs, but I can provide some photos for you. May I have your email address? or please tell me how should I send the photos to you?
@@old-violin-international For your request, I just took a video to show the status after they are repaired. The video is here: ruclips.net/video/0hrQIT_gzHQ/видео.html Thanks!
The young lady is a consumate craftswoman . Very expert. Honour just to watch her work! Thank you! Such a joy to watch.
Allways nice to see ladies working with things like this. At the end a really good touchup of the very bow.
Most excellent work, as usual.
Bravo!

Very interesting. Never saw this done before.
The bow also needs a new ivory, or ivory substitute tip. It's missing the front part of the tip. Why wasn't that done in the repair?

Could you post some photos or video of your repair?

Very thin CA glue would have worked just as well if not better.
What type of glue did you use?
Probably a good modeling CA glue like Zap a gap.I would used a dremel tool to shape the splice modern tech helps once in a while.
Hide glue is used for most violin repairs.
In this case should use more permanent glue instead of hide glue.
Super glue is ok. I used the super glue to repair two bows. Both have being worked without any problems.
