Excellent. The Southsea promenade was relaid to mark HM Queens Silver Jubilee. Too bad the summer weather that year was poor for the local events.

that scene with the trampolines just made me cry, i used to love playing on those as a kid. i never thought i would see this again - especially on film. thank you

That was the year I started my degree at Portsmouth Poly. Hard to believe that it was 47 years ago.

I was thinking the very same thing myself. I moved to Portsmouth for my four year course at the former Portsmouth Polytechnic not so many years later in 1981. Yes, the time really does fly!

The year I left school! I'm pretty sure it was free to visit the Victory back then.

Yes, it was. I remember going on board and being shown around on a tour by a Royal Naval sailor for free in 1981/1982 when I was a student at the former Portsmouth Polytechnic.
