My friend: I don't like books, they are so boring Me: just watch Emmie talks about books and her passion and her enthusiastic spirit and you will fall in love with books 😌❤️
As a Brazilian, it warms my heart to see foreigners appreciating our literature (beautifully represented in this video by Água Viva, by Clarice Lispector - who was actually born in Ukraine but raised in Brazil)
I ADORE the Narnia series. Even as an adult, revisiting those books brings me so much joy. The last book made be bawl. Highly highly recommend reading them all!
This video is like the moment when you are alone and you are writing a coursework for the university (heeeeey, that’s me) and then you see it and just like: “You know it’s gonna be better, YOU have this video to watch while you have a break....an it’s perfect”. Love it ❤️
Because of your last video I picked up Rilke "Letters to a young poet". Fortunately they are avaible for free and legaly on the internet in german. It was a pleasure reading them. Thank you for letting me find this beautiful words!
Such a cosy vlog (as always 😃)! I'm currently reading City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert, Mrs De Winter by Susan Hill (a spin off from Rebecca and would not recommend!), The Middle Parts of Fortune by Frederic Manning (a WW1 novel based on the authors experiences and is heartbreaking) and listening to an audio book of children's Christmas stories by Enid Blyton, they are really young but so cosy! Quite a mixed bag! I hope everything goes well for you getting back into schooling - I know that it can be tough physically and logistically! ❤️
Omg I'm french and let me tel you that it really makes me smile when you try to speak with a french accent, it's just too cute 😍 Thank you so much for those magicals vlogmas🎄❤️
I'm reading The Wolf in the Whale by Jordanna Max Brodsky and The Girl in the Tower by Katherine Arden. So happy you uploaded today. Today was bad for me and I ended up breaking down from nonstop crappy things that kept happening.. but I instantly clicked on your video when I saw it and your videos just calm me down and help me so much. Thank you💙
very much relate to the fear of getting back to work/school after having your brain being messed up. Sending the best vibes and hoping you have support around you! Right now I'm reading a swedish horror/dark fantasy about evil forest-spirits waking up and wrecking havoc in a rural area. Very very addictive and loving it, even though it makes me dream scary dreams lol.
@@emmiereads yep, the very same :) sadly I don't think they're translated to english, but there is a very very similar swedish trilogy, that I love, called the Engelsfors trilogy, by Sara Bergmark Elfgren and Mats Strandberg, that is translated. Very very good!
I remember watching the Red Riding Hood film in cinema back in the day and I will never get those two hours of my life back. 😅 I hope your dad will enjoy Unfinished Tales, it's a great book for big Tolkien fans!
Lovely vlog! Loved the roast at the beginning, haha. Hope going back to school isn’t making you too anxious, can really understand. Maybe it being online will help make it an easier transition. 🧡
I started reading again after I found your channel. I just finished The Bear and the Nightingale and I enjoyed the first part very much, it’s such a cozy atmosphere. I was really sad when I saw that the part people liked the most was the part that I kinda dislike - the third part, with the rushed romance and the cliche. Anyway, always nice to see you.
3:06 I like that Emma didn't try to google the word, she decided that it is a correct word herself "wood cutters? is that a job?..... Yeah" 😂😂 Well, I do that too because English is not my first language 🤷♀️
Hi Emmie! I'd really wish you could switch into diffusing good quality essential oil over lightning candles which scents came from synthetics. Hope you could research about it! I care about you, the first time I saw your video I immediately subscribed. All the best this coming holiday! ❤️
5:38 "That should be illegal" Best phrase in the video. I haven't read the book (and I'm not going to do it), but I can imagine your frustation. Finding such and end, what a horrible experience.
I'm so glad you're getting back into school soon! I hope it goes well for you. Is it OSAP that's giving you a million hoops to jump through? They really are the worst, but they do eventually (grudgingly) reach a point where they're satisfied and leave you alone. Try not to stress about it too much. You've got this!
I'm currently reading Mexican Gothic, and when I was about halfway through I also started Take a Hint Dani Brown, because boyyy I need something light. My current library haul is Mexican Gothic, The Vanishing Half, Remembered and The Night Circus. I already read The Vanishing Half and I loved it, but I think I'm gonna bring back the others and put them on my tbr, because I really do want to read them, specially Remembered, but my mental health is really not in the right place right now, I really need a break from the heavy stuff.
Your dad will love " Unfinished Tales". I will be starting off the year rereading all of Tolkien's books. I hope you are doing well. Everything will go back to normal before you know it. Just hang in there.💜 I am currently finishing up "Misery by: Stephen King" and will be trying to finish up the month with "Halos by: Kristen Heinzman" & "A Christmas Carol by: Charles Dickens "
These reading vlogs have quickly become my favourite! So happy to be so early :) I’m trying to get my hand on a copy of Turn of the Screw based off your recommendation, in my country it seems to be hard to find a non-simplified version :’( I might end up having to order it if it’s worth it hahaha
Hello Emma :) I liked "These Violent Delights" (I'm not a huge fan of Juliette, though) because of the atmospheric setting, the cast of characters (Benedikt, Marshall and Kathleen, especially) and the final plot-twist. It was a fun read, and I'm curious to hear your thoughts about it. ^^ This video was so relaxing, thank you so much for it. ^^ Have a good day.
My daughter and I love your channel and your voice is very calming. We also love to read I'm glad I didn't read Red riding hood lol I did watch the movie and I did like it.
I have a few more exams but my last final is in 5 days, I want to finish war and peace before the school semester starts back up again. I started reading it yesterday night but i have to stop myself because i need to focus on my upcoming examsss
Yeahh, online uni can definitely be a tough ride but it gets better through time just like you said. Also, if you haven't watched it already, I recommend "Little Women."
I just ordered "Lost Boy" which is supposed to be a well known and well liked retelling of Peter Pan. I'm hoping for a good time. I know the author has written several similar books about different fairy tales so I was afraid she had also written "Red Riding Hood" and that it was going to be a complete waste of time as well. I had to check her name, it was Christina Henry. Pewhh! There is hope.
I’m so late but if you’re looking for a nice and surprising retelling of red ridding hood I recommand you to read the « 2 pages » tale of Angela carter in the bloody chamber called « the werewolf »😊 love your RUclips channel thank you for all the videos you create and the passion you share ❤️❤️❤️
Hi! Loved the video, super cozy🥰 I’m really happy that you were reading Clarice this week, because it would have been her 100th birthday on the 10th(and the aniversary of her death on the 9th), she was amazing🤍🇧🇷 Also just wanted to say that i discovered your channel a week ago and it was one of the best discoveries ever!!!! Same🥺

Getting ready to declutter then do some wrapping - was SO happy to see I have this upload to keep me company ♥️
I read Phantom of the Opera and loved it!! Thanks for the recommendation!!
I’m so glad to know Scribd acts like that with other people! 😂 It’s infuriating! Glad to hear you had such a stacked reading week!

Clarice Lispector is such an interesting and talented writer. I read her last novel, hour of the sun, in 2019 and it was really quite incredible.
Another awesome vlog! Our reading tastes are very different but I just love watching your videos. Your voice is very calm and soothing! 💕💕💕
I love your video so much, I was stressed and now as I'm watching the video I'm feeling better

you look like Anna from "Fifty Shades of Grey". The resemblance was especially uncanny when your hair was longer
I am an art historian so I will definitely check out The Painted Girls :)
