I did this but now I wait until the candle is half way set after pouring and do a few drops and swirl them with a stick

hello, so what worked for me was that I kept my candle in a soft state right before it solidifies. Then I added the dye and poked my candle with the bamboo stick, exactly how I show you in the video. :)

How do you get a very good adhesion of the wax on the sides of the pot

I actually do not get great glass adhesion, wax shrinks once it starts to cool, so wet spots are unpreventable, sometimes the wax shrinks a little [ like the picture you see on my thumbnail] and sometimes the wax shrinks a lot. I wish I could tell you differently.. :\
