You can tell this meant so much to Vesta to be asked to sing a part in this song! her singing career has always been drastically underrated. They never gave her career a chance to flurish...she got bad deal after bad deal at a time when music was changing! R.I.P. lady...you are forever in my heart and ALWAYS one of my favorite female vocalist of all time!

Vesta was so bad, my goodness! There were times when I didn't know if I was listening to her or Chaka, and we all know Chaka is a powerhouse. Vesta was one of our greats and she's greatly missed.
Vesta’s time as an R&B powerhouse would have certainly come around again.
VESTA has that song on her 1st album Once Bitten which I still own and the cassette. When Ms.Hathaway did it, I was overjoyed, because she did it properly in her own way with a twist. Vesta Never got the accolades she deserved, but True Fans knew who she was and what she could do!

May sound crazy, but This song by Vesta changed my life in many ways back in the day. I suddenly looked at life differently. Not because it was a love song (had nothing to do with a lover for me), but, because it simply spoke to me in a volume, tone and rhythm that moved my soul to the point where I felt the need to change my life. I was 19... and I did. God bless her.

Just the mere fact that Lalah & Vesta shared a personal & professional relationship was great in itself.......the fact that these 2 truly God-gifted women shared the same stage for this 1 magical evening was certainly special......the fact that some individual had the presence of mind to VIDEOTAPE this performance......to be admired & appreciated for eternity........PRICELESS.

I hate when people try to make everything into a contest. Any civilized person knows, that Lalah was honoring Vesta. This was not a contest. i htought the two of them singing together was a beautiful thing, both are accomplished musicians in their own right.

Ray Alexander Humm I didn't think it was a contest...I missed that. Vesta had a bold voice and personality. Now when Lalah beckoned for her with her little finger and called her Vestas I thought she could have done that differently. Then she asked her if she knew the words to her own song lol. Now that I think about it, Vesta was probably trying to show her up lol.
Crob you might want to reread the original comment and then read your own comment again. You seem to be looking for something that isn't there. It was a joke when she asked about the lyrics, and friendly banter when she called her Vestas.
I did re-read the original comment and I stand corrected, however regarding the rest of my comment it was MY opinion and MY observation. Whether banter or not I didn't see the finger thing as a friendly exchange. Neither YOU or I knows the true extent of their exchange/their friendship so all WE can do is speculate.

I still can't believe Vesta is gone. It kills me to tears. I use to rock so many of her songs, like : congratulation and once bitten twice shy. This was music and singers then. It is only a very small amount of singers today that can do that. She was just too young to die, it isn't fair. But as always God giveth and only God can take away. Rest well sweet Vesta.

Man, this is one of my favorite songs ever! Once listened to this song over a hundred times while pulling an all-nighter in college (drove my roomate crazy).
I would have loved for those two to have recorded a version of this song...that was some of the best singing from Vesta, un-rehearsed but raw, all soul, heart and feeling...you can't fake that! Rest in Peace Ms. Vesta Williams, and thank you for blessing us with your love and music!

High blood pressure is the silent killer. You don't know anything's wrong and feel fine, then you drop dead or find out it's quietly destroyed your kidneys.
I was just diagnosed with HBP myself a few weeks ago and I'm not even 40 yet. I'm taking meds, dieting and doing cardio to get healthy.
