- Does the super moon really look that much bigger than an average moon? Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson brought comedian Chuck Nice to a pizzeria to bring his perspective to this cultural phenomenon.

@@jennimorgan394 Exactly about flat earth and moon. I was just thinking while watching this episode. What science and religions would have been if (a BIG IF) the moon has never been locked by Earth gravity? I mean moon could turn on itself as Earth do and then since the beginning humans could have seen it turning. Flat earth would have been a thing? Science (Astronomy... etc) would be the same?

Anything that gets people to stop and look up has to be a good thing though. It might cause some people to start asking basic questions that inevitably leads to bigger questions that creates a new love for science. A foot in the door so to speak.

Keep in mind that the 15" pizza is 176.7 square inches and the 16" is 201.9 sq in. That's actually 14.26% bigger; a whole extra slice!!!
Would it be easier and more effective to build spacecrafts in space (or close to its frontier) and send the parts required in smaller quantities instead of the entire thing from the earth?

I'm glad that Startalk is back. I actually have doubts that the allegations made against him have truth to them. If did this back in 2009 and 1984, then why did they not come out sooner? Why now? It's 2019 and these things happened years ago.

Glad I was eating when I was watching this.
Here in Germany we have small (20cm / 7.9inch), medium (25cm / 9.8inch) and large (28cm / 11inch) pizza... A 40cm / 16inch pizza is sold as family-pizza. I'd call any of your pizzas a "super sized pizza".
Also your pizza looked like a moon, it was missing some toppings like sausage, pepperoni, onions, garlic, tomatoes, mushrooms, bell pepper and anchovies and so on. If it has a bit of everything, it can be called a super pizza.
Now I'm hungry. :-/

In Australia the pizza companies keep reducing the pizza size secretively, ever since Domino's came here and put those that tried to be honest out of business. So I'd call that a super pizza even though I don't really use the term super moon. I just say wow the moon looks big tonight.
