Thank you. Full of positivity and encouragement. Too many channels try to sound very clever and techy. Only to frighten people away instead of encouraging.
The reason people need the “fancy” equipment, is because they want to overload their tank. A sump just adds extra capacity to your display, so the bio load doesn’t exceed the available bacteria. And if you want to overload it even more, add a protein skimmer to remove the solid poo before it has a chance to pollute. It’s a simple fact that newbies don’t get told. If you want 100 gallons worth of fish in a 70 gallon tank… add a 20 gallon sump and a small skimmer. Now you have 90 gallons of water, rock, & sand… with the protein skimmer taking up the missing 10 gallons worth of load.
This is very encouraging for people thinking about getting into the hobby. I ordered a 60 gallon cube and stand and am intending on using a Seachem 110. Could you share the exact contents of the filter with me? I’d like to use the same as it seems to be working very well.
Yep I am getting ready to do same thing getting rid of some red slime algae been up and running for 6 months I have uv,two power heads and two HOB Fluval 110 on a 75 gal bow front.
you could add one of those small electrical internal skimmers (Examples: Eheim Skim350, Juwel EccoSkim, AquaOne Aquarium Skimmer, Oase CrystalSkim 350, Amtra Skimmer Surface, Tunze Comline) and couple its output to the intake of the hang on the back filter, to make sure that everithing restarts properly in case of power outage🦊
All down to bioload, low fish volume; low nutrient export needed. I have a 50 gallon mixed here with an internal filter and mini hob skimmer. Am splashing out big bucks soon tho for a tidal 55 haha. That tank would look better under whiter light :)
They use a Seachem tidal hang on the back filter and the lights are Red Sea 90’s. The Red Sea lights are a bit pricey and ai prime led’s would work just as well.
I have simple 100 gallon tank (no sump), filter floss connected to a Maxijet powerhead, and hang on back skimmer. Mixd reef. 20% waterchange monthly. Hands are in the tank to clean. Stir up the sandbed, weekly, which allows the skimmer and filter floss to capture the detritus.
I'm a huge fan of the Tidal 110 filters. If I could get away with these on a saltwater, I might end up with a tank sooner than later. Just been thinking and keep holding off. This might just change my opinion. AND the top was the perfect solution!!
i've been using two powerheads and an HOB in my 40 gal tank. I also use tap water instead of RODI. I dont know how great mine is compared to other places but i doubt its anything special. I have Pulsing Xenia and a rhodactis doing good. I wouldnt risk buying anything too expensive or fragile though.
I just bought a Kessil a80 for a 25 gallon bubble aquarium. It’s beautiful, but I’m learning as I go. I’ve spent $1,500 over the past 2 months just buying fish & corals. I know have two fish (fox face & clown fish).

Man that's great. Truly a beautiful tank. I do have a few questions. What size tank is it? I'm guessing at least a 75g. You said you service the tank every 2 weeks. What percentage of water do you change out? Finally, how the heck do you keep the anemones from wandering around and stinging the coral to death?
@@aquariumservicetech2891 sounds great is it oke to use seachem matrix as bio media , and combined with polyfil and seachem purigen ? Or do i need carbon for the filter

Pure water vapor is the only thing that can evaporate from your tanks. No salts. No minerals. The solids stay, so your tank is becoming saltier and saltier as the water evaporates. This means that all you must do is to replace your evaporation loss with RO water, and your tank will return to it’s original salinity level. 👍

Tank looks great, imagine the simple setup just keep the pads clean, change carbon as needed etc with water changes.
That's the plan!

Salt water talk your main filtration is alot of rock and alot of sand and 20% water change every 2 weeks that is it

Wow, so no sump or protein skimmer? You just put rock, instant ocean salt and let it cycle?

75 g- 40/50 percent water change- and pure luck and chance with the nems.
@aquariumservicetech2891 well alright then. That was a good honest reply. Thanks.
Verry awesome want to start a salt water tank aswell now seeing this , how long needs the lights to be on ? How many hours
Depends what you are keeping. If coral’s usually 8/10 hrs. If fish it’s your preference.

Excellent presentation. Is there a skimmer involved?
Ty and Nope
How many gallons is this? It’s beautiful!
75 g
Wow amazing!
I'd want to avoid making a sump 100 gallon reef setup. Would it be okay for 2 hob filters for a 100 gallon saltwater tank?
Absolutely. Just get the proper size and have a healthy tank maintenance plan.

What kind of background “stones” do you have ?
The customer bought those. I believe they are the ones for cichlid tanks not sure where from.

60 gallons
Aquaknights all the way baby. V2 is best because the timers
Was you doing any dosing or just WC
Just WC
How many gallons in this tank ?
I think its 75.

How many gallons is the tank on the video?
I believe standard 75g from petco
Does it have to be in a dark or low light room
No not at all
tank has almost $1000 in lighting...
This looks just like my tank! lol
How often are you changing the filter floss?
We change it every visit which is down to 1 a month but the customer might change month. Once a week should be fine.

Depends a lot on your bio load. Water changes, nitrate removing media, all work to get nitrates down. Maybe add a natural filter like some soft coral.
