"Pawn Stars" follows three generations of the Harrison family as they assess the value of items coming in and out of their Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas, from the commonplace to the truly historic.
"Let's go up front!" I think Rick thought it was his store. 😂
lmaooo
chum go write him up... oh wait were not at the store lol
HAHAHAHA
"I'm gonna give a call to an expert on this sort of thing."
*calls Nicolas Flamel
Good one
“Since we both have a mutual friend in Rebecca..”
Me: um where is this going?
Wa
Rebecca Romney is really HOT, that Adam needs to sell anything just to see her.
I feel like pawn brokers try to haggle everywhere they go...
Gas station clerk: "thatll be 10 bucks"
Rick: "will you take 8"
Gas station clerk: "pay me or im calling the cops"
hahaha
Rock Lujano Rick: “Ok ok ok, 8.50 I’m taking a risk here I have to walk out of the door and get back in my car”
LMAO! Finally an actual funny take on the signature Haggle.
Hahahahaha 😆🤣😂
😂😂😂..good one
.
Lol Rick was acting like it was his book store lol let's go up front XD
The show may be fake but that excitement when the deal was made by Rick was genuine. He loves books, and i love that.
In the antiquary book world it is beyond rude to offer less to a dealer who extends you the courtesy of the book dealer discount of 20%. If there were no film crew present I believe he would have wished Rick a good day. That being said we didn't see Rick actually purchase the book and depart with it. I think words were exchanged after "cut" was called. As for first refusal Rick will not be culling that volume from the future sale of his collection to fulfill his agreement. My opinion.
ay it also seems kinda weird that at the end the old guy is like maybe he'll be a repeat customer and we can hopefully build a working relationship or whatever that seemed more scripted than usual of course he isnt going to be a repeat all he wanted was that book so you might be on to something
If i ever meet the pawn stars i would thank them...it's been a ride hasn't it what a show.
when i see book mentioned i was hoping for rebecca.. kinda dissapointed
limpbizquick me share the link pls
Massive Propaganda yea
limpbizquick me liar
her last instagram post was in march, nice try
Rebecca is the one that led Rick to this seller...
"We've priced the book for $50,000."
"I'll give you tree-fiddy."
"Goddamn it, Loch Ness Monster! Get out of my book store! I ain't sellin' it for no tree-fiddy!"
mike lowwwwwrey
at first i thought he said "since we both have a beautiful friend in rebecca" lol
buying a book about immortality whose author died hundreds of years ago... lmfao
@@emaime27 Yes he did now stfu
Maybe the author just changed his name to Keanu Reeves
@@jegeriufanen4415 That would be so awesome!
vEn om - Hint, he runs a book store.
Author created a horcrux
Book Store Owner: "We have priced this book for $50,000."
Rick: "I'll give you $25 and, that is as high as I can go."
Not a penny more. I'm taking all the risk here...
That bookcase seems very secure for a 50,000 book
Juanscum381 plus he just grabbed it out like ut was a cartoon book like here u go, here it is😅
hahahah
Juanscum381 hey it’s worked since the 1970’s. Guess he doesn’t get hit often if at all
LMAO
To be fair it’s a good spot to hide it. Who would see it there and know it was worth that much.
Rick laughed for everything 🤣 😂
its irritating
That old book ain't worth 35k unless Rebecca touches it
Who else saw “Book” and came here for Rebecca? 🤔
Hahahahahha
KeepIt Real yo get out ur momz basement and get laid kid friendly
To heck with Rebecca
Zips pants back up
@@leeellenwood5461 kid friendly
Looks like we're getting another hundred years of Pawn Stars
I just love how people thorw around money like it grows on trees in their back yards. . .
Rick to other people's joke - 😒
Rick to his own cringey jokes - 😂😂😂
If mr brown had this book him and immortality would of got along famously
Rick accepted the offer of first refusal because he knew he'd be selling that book as part of his collection and if that guy wanted to make the first offer it would have to be on the whole collection.
I love the look on Rick's face. A verbal contracts worthless. Lol
I didn't know Rick was this cultured... New respect for him. I've only seen a few episodes, I used to watch it with my dad before he died when I would visit.
I watched this till the end because I thought Rebecca was going to make an appearance. This is what Rick means by taking a risk!
Rick walks in the shop
Owner: $50000
Rick: how about $58
Owner: Get Out!
so im realizing now that Rick may in fact be a Wizard...
“Hey Mr.Bookshop Man, I’m here since part of the deal was to offer you first refusal. However I’m selling it as part of my entire collection so I’m asking for $5 million.”
Lol I was thinking the same thing..
Rick hasn’t payed the man an he’s taking it to his “desk”😂😂
It’s crazy how that man is still selling to Rick... It never CHANGES!
In the right hands to those who can really understand it's meaning that book is worth more than gold.
Rick: "$50k, huh? Well I see what looks to be a signature here, might be just a smudge tho but I don't want to take a risk. Let me call in my buddy Steve Grad, he can tell us all about it and hopefully low-ball you- I mean give us a fair price?"
Nice! I love books especially old ones. I have a library in my townhouse. lol
Being in Washington, Rick couldn't call in Rebecca on this one. At least she still got name-dropped.
I personally would have paid 40k for that book. It is a masterpiece.
You can afford 40 000 dollars for a book?
@@jimmywpavlovic Not very often, maybe once or twice a year, but for rare books like that, it's worth the investment.
RICK KNEW HE HAD HIM 👌👍😉😌😂
1st right of refusal means he has the opportunity to match Ricks highest offer and make the purchase in priority to anyone else.
That is the copy I owned 2,400 years ago...
"Fingers crossed!". The best Rick can do is uncrossed fingers (0:19).
This guy made me google “first refusal”
Well i just called buddy of mine who is expert in first refusals
Rebecca is so popular that even without her presence, her name was mentioned. Nice and good looking Rebecca that millions of boys dreams and long for.
Seller: "I'm asking $60,000. Rick: "I'll give you 20 bucks and a pat on the back." Mr. Brown famously read that book.
Dealer : I am asking $50,000
Rick: I can do $1800 and I am taking all the risks here
Mr Brown is famously known to live forever
This is when you have so much money, you dont know what to do with it..
Wait. Rick's want to live forever?
He'll wait 100 year, and then all of his merchandise would have a sky rocket values. Smart move.🤔
T M S - Karma, it would be worthless.
Customer: hi can I have change for a dollar
Rick: I can do 63 cents, look man I'm taking a big risk here
Abood Albadani lmao!
Hahahahahahahahahahaha.. Best
50,000 dollars!?!! And the book is stored vertically jammed between other books... and on top of that , they touch it with their bare hands. They should at least use gloves... wth
Endeavor - I was thinking the same thing.
Gloves diminish sensation to a small degree and lead to tougher handling of the book. The reason some older books are handled with gloves is some older papers heavily dissolved with the sweat and oils in your hands, modern paper is more robust and thus the risk of gloves does not outweigh the relatively small benefit. As for the storage method, I agree completely.
Jon Short if that’s true, it’s understandable... but then why is it stored in between other books? That books wayyy too much strain on the binding.
Yeah, the way he stored it was kinda sketch, but the point on wearing gloves is moot. He'd be more likely to damage the book with gloves on than without.
Sad ignorance is so prevalent and gets 17 likes in 1 hour (pls edit your comment ty)
"According to the Library of Congress, wearing gloves while handling antiquarian books may do more harm than good. Portland State University Library Special Collections follows their advice to handle most rare and valuable books with clean, dry hands.”
“Before handling any collection item, thoroughly wash and dry hands. Contrary to widespread belief, gloves are not necessarily recommended to handle rare or valuable books. Gloves (nitrile or vinyl) are always recommended if there is reason to suspect a health hazard (e.g., mold, arsenic). Clean gloves (nitrile, vinyl, or lint-free cotton) are also recommended when handling photograph albums/photographs or books with metal or ivory parts. Aside from those specific situations, it is generally preferable to handle your books with clean hands, washed with soap and thoroughly dried, rather than with glo
That glass cabinet door and tiny padlock would definitely keep that 50k book secure. 🤣
I'd rather read about Robert McIntyre's brain cryopreservation technique, perfectly preserving every synapse.
He is getting it for $35,000 wow such a deal. I never spent that much in my entire life on books or clothing. I would like to photo copy it at Kinko's LOL
What did he mean by he gets first refusal?
same question. didnt understand
It means if Rick decide to sell it , first he need to negotiate back to seller !
agofficial1
Right of first refusal (ROFR or RFR) is a contractual right that gives its holder the option to enter a business transaction with the owner of something, according to specified terms, before the owner is entitled to enter into that transaction with a third party. A first refusal right must have at least three parties: the owner, the third party or buyer and the option holder. In general, the owner must make the same offer to the option holder before making the offer to the buyer. The right of first refusal is similar in concept to a call option.
I would've told Rick $40k take it or leave it. $15k price reduction is alot.
Can some please explain the process of "first refusal" to me?
Evocati Unlimited same
@@BenGilmore93 Im sure rebecca will buy that book.
If the buyer, in this case "Rick," decides to sell, he must first give the original seller an opportunity to buy the book back before putting it into an auction or other sale.
Watch it already.
Please spread awareness about silicosis which is a fatal disease I had never heard of and worry it will destroy my life we were carpenters that built houses and in the usa have to have tie down anchors so we drilled into the concrete and cut fiber cement siding because they changed from plywood to it no one ever told us its fatal.
People bring in books to the pawn shop just to get to see Rebecca
2:38 "I'll give you 30% off retail as long as you let me buy it back"
What??
YESSSS let's get Pawn Stars on the ROAD!
"I"m going to call Rebecca and check her out..."
These book dealer seems like he’d get u whacked if u didn’t pay up
That's funny! I thought the same thing!
Looks like Rebecca taught Rick to finally not open the books all the way
rebecca was the friend that suggested the book
Does anyone else here think Rebecca should get her own show
Yes, with Adam. And Mike Yamasaki should be half of the show. Books and swords!
What does first refusal mean?
This is what was used in the harry Potter movie or was an idea used in the movie. Nicolas Flamel was an Alchemist in real life who tried to create the Elixir of Life and the person became a central character in the first Potter movie. This book is a cool piece of history. . .
Mr. Brown already knew the formula
Why aren't they wearing gloves when touching this book that's worth 50k and from the 1600s?
Gloves are no longer the standard for touching old books. But I bet you anything they scrubbed their hands before touching it.
Dude, it's not about having dirt on your hands. Human skin naturally produces oils that is harmful to aged materials like paper, metal, etc.
I had the same thoughts
Read up the other comments which has high likes someone explained it that it's a standard in the Library of congress to not use a gloves for handling antiquity books
@@donmega402 Nope. Oils in human hands are often beneficial to old vellum and leather bindings, as they act as a sort of natural moisturizer (the same goes for the vellum/parchment pages in, for example, medieval manuscripts). Moreover, early books (pre-19th century) were produced using cotton-rag paper, which is extremely resilient to basic use. As long as you touch these types of books with clean, dry hands, you won't damage them. Later books (19th-century onwards), on the other hand, started to use highly acidic wood pulp paper, which is starting to crumble and decay and must be handled much more carefully. That being said, wearing gloves is a TERRIBLE idea when handling fragile books of any sort, since gloves reduce tactile feedback and often lead to mechanical damage to the materials (e.g., tearing the pages, over-extending the spine, etc.).
This is thing is the holy grail of holy grails
Life and mr brown got along famously
Wow, he really worked him down on that one.
It was stored in their pool until they heard Rick wanted it.
can we go just a tiny littleeee bit down ???
Mr. Brown and his repeat customers got first refusal famously.
It would appear that Rebecca has become the real "pawn star"!!!
How can the guy claim first refusal when Rick plans on selling that book with his collection ?
if the contract was created that would allow him to still have some form of ownership over the item. so he gets some money upfront with some assurance the item wont be sold for a certain amount without their consent. if things went good then this play could allow one insight into the inner workings which usually brings a form of trust between two. good way to network into situations you may not have had access too.
Gentlemen's agreement rules apply here.
A $50,000 book and rick likes it for the pictures
Rick have wery nice false smile
Saw book and clicked for Rebecca. Pretty pissed off, so I had to google her to find something to beat it too.
The ol' Animal, Vegetable, Mineral system.
Mr Brown and I became famous monks famously
Note to the posters: Rebecca won't be there when Rick is buying books for himself. She works for the History channel. It is unusual to see rick buying something for himself, not the shop.
During hard lockdown
Rick sure got offended by being asked if he ever tried alchemy
how does that deal even work since rick wants the book for his collection so he can sell his entire collection for more money.
The Elixir of Death is also a great read. It has 1 page that reads "bleach".
Came here for Rebecca kinda disappointed I could care less about the book lol
35.000 thousand is the price of my house, come on.
Can't wait to read a pdf version of this
Mr brown got along famously with cocaine he said it a helluva drug
after clout they should've never gave Mr.Brown money he doesn't no how to appreciate it
wish i had a copy of that book, tried multiplying gold though
A book episode without rebecca is like eating an icecream without the cone...:(
Anj Quilinderino no it's like eating a cone without the ice cream
Let's go up front LOL
No proper handling of the book has me quite uncomfortable
I will live forever.... Sound so fun
Let me call a buddy of mine
Mr Brown is the holy grail of American coins
Frank Mazzacca 😷🖕🖕🖕
I don't get his "first refusal" request. So he sells it for 35k. Rick then decides to sell it for 50k and has to ask this guy if he wants it for 50K? If he says no, Rick can sell it to someone else for 50K?
That man will be waiting for rick to offer him first refusal. The book is more then likely flipped already with a 30% mark up.
John Brett I didn't understand what he meant by refusal?
If Rick decides to sell it, Rick has to offer the shop the chance to buy it back before he sells it to someone else.
That's a good practice, I've seen people sell things super cheap and not mention it to me; when they knew I had tried to buy it for as much or more (it stings.)
Workout or physical exercise is one way to maintain yourself. Otherwise the downward spiral into the grave is much more accelerated. And Rick looks like he hasn't exercised his body for quite some time. No book will do the exercise for him.
