Uh I don’t know too much about the manga, but I know Aizen put Ywach under kyokasuigetsu so I think now that he has fused with his zanpakuto, he can just use kookaburra suit Etsy at anytime.

I think Mayuri should've been on this list because he is extremely adaptable during his fights. But when compared to Urahara, I completely understand why he's not
Mayuri is adaptable but most of his wins are because his opponent ate Nemu. Urahara's ability to predict and plan allowed him to predict the outcome of his battle against Askin as coming down to one of 5 possibilities , despite having extremely limited knowledge. Mayuri really is discount Urahara. There's a reason Mayuri lives in his shadow and lives his entire life with the purpose of trying to surpass him.
Kisuke is by far the most dangerous character in bleach.if he ever went rogue,everyone would be in serious trouble.he knows everything about everyone,he's very difficult to read or discern and his intellect is scary .he creates his own kido ,can control and seal away powerful beings.look at how he was able to force a transformation in someone as powerful and strong willed as yoruichi.with the knowledge he has,everyone would be caught off guard and be in big trouble if he turns on them .I'm not even mentioning his actual combat abilities

I've always wondered why Mayuri wasn't on that list. I mean, the guy defeated the Left* hand of God all by himself, he dealt with the Soul Balance problem in the beginning before anyone even knew what was happening, can literally MODIFY his Bankai however he sees fit, handed Toshiro's ass in a matter of seconds and has created dozens of twisted inventions which make him unpredictable in a fight.
I think the issue with Mayuri is that we never really know which side of the fight he is. He's not worth trusting when it come down to things like war. He likes to play with his enemies like he did against the zombie girls and zombie Toshiro. War potential also means that you are being sent out as the main force of the war, not just that you are strong, but for the sake that people know you fight on the "right side" and for the "right reasons". Now I'm not saying Mayuri would change sides and fight for the Quincies, but he might betray some Shinigamis for his own personal goals and in the end backstab the Quincies in some way.

@Light Revaan while I don't think Yama should be on the list I do think you're understating his strength. we didn't see him fight fake Ywach with his Shikai first off he went straight to Bankai and he ass slapped him. Secondly, the entire time he was fighting in his Bankai he was purposefully restricting his power to an absolute minimum and even that was going to destroy a Planet size dimension if the fight dragged on too long. Yamamoto is easily stronger then Kenny in raw strength ATM! (I'm sure once Kenny master's his Bankai he'll be much more powerful) He's also a Kido Master, and a Master of Hakuda and Shunpo. The reason Yama wasn't a war potential was because of his arrogant attitude. Ywach knew how he could deal with the Head Captain and he knew it would work because of their history and the kind of person that Yamamoto was. I think that if you remove the history that the two share, and just have him as some planet level threat ready to kill the Quincies he would've for sure been on the list because Ywach wouldn't have known how to deal with him and there is no way that any of the Sternritter would beat him 1v1. In my opinion and I think well stated in the manga too, The only people stronger then the Head Captain are Ichigo, Ywach, Ichibei and probably Aizen. So I agree that he definitely isn't worthy of the War Potential list as you said, but he is FAR stronger than Jushiro and Shunsui combined. It's already stated that squad zero has more sheer power then the entire 13 court guard squadsand since there's only 5 of them and he's defs a lot stronger than the other 4 it makes sense, Also his level of bullshit is just ridiculous haha but other than him I agree! @@jgphantom6 Yamamoto hit Aizen (who'd just got done taking on half a dozen Captains and Lieutenents and thus burned through a lot of spiritual energy) at point blank range with a 96 kido which he sacrificed his arm to summon, and didn't even scratch Aizen. And it was confirmed that that was the real Aizen he grabbed when using that kido. Bazz-B literally canceled out Yamamoto's shikai flames without needing his Vollstandig. Shunsui literally says Toshiro's Zanpakuto is just as strong as Yamamoto's, just with Ice instead of fire. And we get a glimpse lf this in his fight with Garard when Garard was so strong that Toshiro says him simply falling over would destroy the Seireitei. The instant Yhwach stole Yamamoto's bankai, he raped the old man. Chopping him in half with a single strike then obliterating the corpse. But he didn't even try stealing Ichibe's Bankai. My point is that without Bankai, Yamamoto is A tier at best. And there are plenty of ways of dealing with his Bankai. Sealing, stealing, luring him to the world of the living...dodging. All his opponent would have to do is avoid Yamamoto as he can only use Bankai for a few minutes (lest he risk destroying the realm he's in as Unahana was already saying he should hurry up during his fight with Loyd) then rush in or use whatever ability they have for the kill once he reverts to Shikai.
From my perspective Mayuri Kurotsuchi turned out to be one of the real MVPs of the war. Not only did he step out of Kisuke Urahara’s shadow he cemented a lot of the small victories. He definitely deserves some credit, if anybody else it’s him.

The 6th "War Power" that Yhwach knew of, but didn't take into account wasn't one of the Shinigami, but instead a Qunicy: Uryū Ishida (ironically designated "A" - "Antithesis") analytical and adaptive ability. Uryū ability to quickly analyze situations and adapt (unlike Urarhara who plans for everything in advance like if it was moves on a chess board) with what tools he has at his disposal was the real thing that gave Ichigo an opening to dispatch Yhwach. My theory is that Yhwach couldn't have seen Uryū turning on him because of the arrowhead made of Still Silver. Yhwach probably knew he would have been an issue but "recruited" Uryū thus feeling he had eliminated the issue. Jugram Haschwalth could see the future because of the temporary transfer of Yhwach's powers (and because he wasn't shot by the Still Silver Arrowhead)... but since he was unable to change the future all he could do was warn Yhwach in the hopes he would change it himself. Jugram knew that Uryū And Ichigo would defeat Yhwach but couldn't stop Uryū from using the Still Silver Arrowhead. I feel that if Yhwach could see the event in full or Jugram could have changed the future, Uryū would have been slayed and Yhwach would have won.
But here's the flaw of Uryu's Still Silver that always bothers me. Yhwach literally has "The Almighty", which allows him to see all possible actions & events in the future constantly. How the heck he didn't see that arrow coming??

You could say his arrogance or ego got to him, or how many possible futures can he see per second etc. Kubo wrote himself into a corner and the only way to kill Yhwch would be some weird plot armour hax type of thing. There's millions of possible ways that scene with Uryu shooting the arrow could have gone, Jugram only showed him one of those scenes were Yhwch died but Yhwch thought it was just a dream not future, still leaves the possibly millions of other scenarios for that one scene. Even if he didn't see himself dying, he still would have seen Uryu there.
I think he lied about the almighty's power. It probably allows him to travel to the future when he would die. When ichigos kid shoved his hand into the black hole at his house he couldn't tunnel to the future, so we cut back to the past and see him during. Even if he can see the future mabey he didnt care with the possible future travel ability or he couldn't see past his death.
@@resurgingflame I think that has to do with the effect of the Still Silver. we think that it only affect Yhawch from the point of impact on... but that's seeing time as a single direction. what if it didn't just had an effect forward but backwards in time too? Still Silver had a limited window of time after the impact, but what if it affected him into the past for the same amount of time? That is supernatural way of looking at it... which isn't beyond the bleach universe.

I think Shunsui needs to be included in this list. The war was won because of his insight and resolve as a leader to do whatever it takes to win. It was his idea to include Aizen in the war because he knew that Aizen would never side with Yhwach knowing his objective to was to dominate everything in existence (something Aizen wanted for himself). Shinsui's knowledge of Unohana's past as Kenpachi was pivotal to the development of Zaraki Kenpachi's growth, and in turn would create a monster that would create major problems for the Quincy. I think the Quincy underestimated the lengths Shunsui would go to win this war and I feel like this should have earned him a spot on that list. It's probably because after Yama is killed, they never suspected the next in line to be a threat, considering Shunsui is always so laid back, you would never expect him to be a leader with such a powerful resolve.
@@0eyes Because foresight and decisiveness are better qualities than any of the actual people listed. Shinsui made decisions that no one in the Gotei 13 agreed with but those decisions ultimately led to their victory. The Quincy made a terrible mistake in not killing him first. The failed to see his potential as a leader because he disguised these traits by acting care free. Shinsui is so keen on seeing the true nature of things and knows that it's a weakness for others to know that he has that ability, so he hides that side of himself. It's actually GENIUS.
Yhwach really was just listing off threats like: -Ichigo IS A HYBRID THAT KEEPS GROWING -Kenpachi CAN AND WILL CUT ANYTHING -Ichibe HAS INCALCULABLE EXPERIENCE WITH AGE -Aizen HAS IMMENSE REIATSU -Kisuke is a goofy asshole and is probably up to something
Wasnt it confirmed on the novel with Azashiro that Aizen deliberately lured Kenpachi in Hueco Mundo, because of his hidden strength. (Didnt Kubo himself confirm this?)
Mayuri would get his ass handed to him. Askin kept up with Kisuke, who is far above Mayuri in terms of speed and power. Askin has no reason to try and consume Nemu, so 99% chance Mayuri can't infect him with a drug. His Bankai's poison? Askin becomes immune. There's no way Mayuri reasonably puts him down without using Batman logic.
Mayuri is going to get stomped Askin dealt with Ichigo, Grimmjow, Chad and Yoruichi true powerhouses And kept adapting to Urahara and his kido Any drug, poison or apparatus that Mayuri uses aren't doing anything to Askin
Its been years since bleach manga finished, kubo has had a long time, maybe the anime will replace the manga as canon and be fleshed out more. That is my dream.
Isshin is on the same level as the above average captain in terms of combat. He is on the same level as yoruichi and kisuke combat abilities. Ryuken is on the same level as the average sternritter without their shrift.
The 5 war potentials 1. Aizen for kyoka suigetsu 2. Aizen for his reiatsu 3. Aizen for his intelligence 4. Aizen for the hogyoku 5. Aizen for being aizen
Kisuke is probably one of the most dangerous people in the bleach setting as he is the kind of person to walk up to you smiling before stabbing you in the heart, you sound always be scared of people that say for the greater good and will follow though on anything to achieve it, and unlike Aizen he has almost no Ego this is why I put him above Aizen in his level of danger, Aizen is more powerful but Aizen would never consider sacrificing himself for others so he doesn’t think overs will do the same, apart from this him and Aizen are quite alike in another life they could have even been friends.
I hope the final fight in the anime incorporates all of them in a synchronized strategy against Yhwach which ultimately ends with Ichigo landing the final blow. Just imagine all of them working together with amazing animation and choreography. I know it sounds a bit cliche but it would be way better than the outcome we got in the manga.
You forgot how dangerous Urahara really is Imo everything was set-up way to perfectly for it to be coincidental during that final battle; Aizen being sealed, Ishida being there giving the still Arrow to Uryu, Allowing Uryu to fight alongside Ichigo so that when their bond becomes stronger he could use Uryu to infiltrate the Quincies and to fire the still arrow against Ywach, the fact that he helped the FullBrings enter Soul Society and giving them a chance to repay Ichigo, the Hollows in helping them survive and help the others during the war, provided intel on the Quincies, was responsible for giving back everyone’s Bankais when they were stolen; Immobilizing Askin so that he won’t become a threat to Ichigo and the others. Using Rukia as bait so Aizen could reveal his true motives and allowing him to fuse with the hogyoku so he could be used as a pawn against Ywach, knowing Aizen could control the decisions of central 46 and in some way allowed him to kill them so the commands would fall onto Yamamoto to decide and give til suitable members were chosen. Ichigo gaining his Shinigami powers back and is the person that constantly helps him reach his full potential; allowing Orihime and Chad to tag along to develop their powers so they could be useful. He was even responsible for Tokinada’s assassination in CFYOW; all around chad for creating the Hogyoku to save the soul King even when it initially came from simple curiosity. Not to mention he built the hot springs found under his shop and the seritei which could heal wounds when he SOMEHOW FOUND A WAY into the Soul Palace without the method Aizen would’ve used and analyzed the waters in Kinjro’s hotspring, his reputation and skills were revered that Ichibe trusts Urahara, Kinjiro the man who created the term “Master of Healing” even regarded Ichigo as “Kisuke’s apprentice” as if Ichigo’s background with Kisuke is enough for a member of squad 0 to respect him even more. The man who knew all about Hollowfication even when Aizen was still conducting his own experiments; also knew about the Soul King without Ywach. This man even has Tessai with him a master of Kido holds a position similar to that of Yoruichi among the SS, even Yoruichi follows his orders except when it comes to her own fights and even she is willing to Kill anyone who endangers Kisuke and she even allows Kisuke to do what he wants and thanks to turn back the pendulum we know Kisuke chooses his own missions; and then you have Junta and Ururu arguably the Nemu of Urahara and he achieved it way before Kurutsuchi ever finished his, not only that these two can mature, grow older, but still have their own personalities and feelings. This is the man who saved Misaki and allowed Ichigo to exist, effectively beating Tokinada in creating a Hollow, Shinigami, Fullbring, Human, Quincy Hybrid, and he did it without the hogyoku and also fixing Aizen’s “would-be” botched experiment, meaning Aizen has to literally thank Urahara for giving him the chance to even meet Ichigo. He even created a pathway to Hueco Mundo and Kurutsuchi even admits that among the people outside of the Arrancars and Aizen’s group, only Urahara knew how to get in and out of Hueco Mundo at that time. Achieved Bankai in only three days thanks to a device he himself made. This man even made a seal that Aizen didn’t even know was implanted til the last moment all the while being trolled by Urahara and him literally telling Aizen that he shouldn’t have let his guard down. This man created the term “Hogyoku” a term even Aizen had to use when calling the object (heck he had to steal Kisuke’s to complete his while Kisuke was simply waiting for it to mature and develop on it’s own and bidding time for him to control it so he could use it for the Rei-o), also the fact that Aizen stole Urahara’s Reiatsu cloak design when conducting his experiments. Heck all the world should thank this man he quite literally fixed everyone’s problem and the best part...it was so subtle he didn’t even get the chance to be repaid in full and he never asked to. This man is the real Ywach boi could see multiple outcomes without the power of “The Almighty” and still come out on top of everyone.

I get what you mean about Uryu being on the list, but not on the list at the same time. I feel that he is very underrated in the fandom. The Quincy King himself recognized the potential and danger Uryu presented as where everyone overlooked this. He was the only mixed-breed Quincy to survive the purging of mixed-blood Quincy 9 years prior to the start of the TYBW arc (if you think about it, that on it's own makes him a person of interest), and Juha himself stated that Uryu's latent ability could potentially surpass his own (prior to Soul King absorbtion). Add to the fact that Uryu was pivotal in the final fight, as lets face it, Ichigo would not have won were it not for Aizen and Uryu's help just adds to cement the above stated (Deus ex machina arrow or not🙄). I think that that has to do more with the way Kubo handled him than with what's stated in the manga. If we have had the chance to see Uryuu in action before the final battle and his treason to Yhwach, fan's perception might've been way more different, like what if Uryuu had beaten and almost killed (again) Mayuri like if he were nothing? Or what if he had lead an attack to the shinigami and taken down several liutenants like flies (and maybe a Captain) all by himself? That would've proved with more actions and not just words why Yhwach chose him as his succesor.
I think Uryu is very powerful and I would place him in my top 10 when ranking the sternritter but where I don't agree is when people say he can defeat guys like Lille or Gerard.
Are we downplaying the fact that all the Yuha Almighty-ness essentially fell to Aizen. Aizen is a greater potential than Yuha himself. That final fight just proved to me that Aizens ability is the only thing absolute in Bleach.
In the spirits are forever with you novel, Aizen stated one of the reasons he kidnapped orihime was because when Soul society found out Ichigo would go and rescue her, they would send captains to help him out and he knew Zaraki would have been one. He also said the two biggest threats to his plans were Yamamoto and Zaraki since Aizen was aware of Zaraki power fluctuations, so dealing with them both at the same time would have been troublesome. So yeah Aizen aware of how much of a threat Zaraki was.
I honestly hope with Bleach coming back that they use the chance to build on a lot of things. While I get why those characters were on the list, others like Tsukishima and Orihime had powers that would warrant concern. And I still wish we had gotten a Hollow/Espada that was considered a major threat (tying in why the Quincy even went after Hueco Mundo)
can you see aizen having a longer fight if all of the seals were removed because even after he was fully absorbed by almighty, he still came back. he still was able to put up a small fight with his seals on.
The thing is that with Ichigo's changed shikai and bankai, I think his Ultimate Getsuga Tenshou changed too, so I want to say that Ichigo's Ultimate Getsuga Tenshou mode (or ability idk what I should say to this skill) makes him the most dangerous. But the thing is that he have to lose his shinigami quincy and fullbring powers to use Ultimate Getsuga Tenshou
You are right bro, It's proved by the novel " Spririt are forever with you " , in Muuken Aizen and Azashiro have a discussion, and Aizen say " He send ichigo to hueco mundo, and Kenpachi follow him, it's was a good thing " Because he knew Kenpachi potentiel and how this strengh work and his secret with Unohana.
Also,I think the quincies acknowledged that there were people unaccounted for.like how Lille was kind of shook when shunsui revealed his bankai .also,when toshiro hitsugaya revealed his completed bankai you can see Gerard wondering what this knew power that was unaccounted for was ,and how he was slowly losing his cool after toshiro was nullifying everything he threw at him.but yeah,apart from those guys,mayuri should definitely have been on there
He can mod his bankai. Urahara can mod anything with his bankai. The only thing that helps Mayuri close the cap between them is his own self experimentation

It wasnt necessarily due to his age, it was more due to his stubbornness. For example, instead of healing his arm he chose to not get it back because he didn't want a humans help. Essentially his pride is what was holding him back from being a danger to Yhwach in the end. He wasn't the bloodthirsty shinigami had been in the past.

Granted, it’s been awhile since I read the series, but what about Orihime and Tsukasima? Both have the ability to essentially rewrite reality. I’ve always had a problem with Bach’s ability. Yes, he can see the future, but acting on all the millions of possibilities is just ludicrous.

Oetsu I felt is another slept on, I think we didn't get to see his full potential. I think the whole zero squad should have been on. These individuals themselves set the ground work for shinighami!! Could even say soul society and more would still be in chaos and wouldn't have the power they have now if it wasn't for zero squad
It shot every noted that we never see Aizen at his best in this arc. He has 18 seals on him and the chair. He was released from the chair and Shunsui wa only permitted to undo 3 additional seals.
Yep, his blade was stated by yhwach to not emit any reiatsu so probably you can't negate his power with reiatsu. The almighty is the only ability that actually can defeat ichimonji's control on names.
I really wanted to see Yama an Ichibei go all out on someone other then Ywach. I think Ichibei v Gerard and Yama v Lili Barro would have been fucking nuts even for bleach standards

Hell, even just using X-Axis made Lili's attacks unblockable and allowed him to one-shot a member or Squad 0 through the bocks of two other Squad 0 members. He'd snipe Yamamoto and win.
No, Yamamoto wouldn't have "clapped" Yhwach. He was already reaching his time limit with his Bankai when Yhwach appeared, and Yhwach is much stronger than Loyd. All he'd have to do is hold on a few more minutes at most and Yamamoto would have to remove his Bankai. At which point he'd die. Unahana was already telling him to hurry up before the real Yhwach even appeared.

Kenpachis power is explained in the books that came out. Basically he has infinite rietsu but will always limit himself subconciously to be as powerful as his opponant
screw the time schedule of the last arc. Ywach deserved a better / a bigger fight. So did Zaraki...who should have "adapted" to Ywach after the first loss

It is Ryuken and Uryu who aside from 5 war powers are a threat to Yhwach, since, Ryuken was the one who created an arrow made of still silver, and Uryu have his resistance in auswahlen.
Aizen >= Ichigo > Ichibe > Kenpachi > Urahara I put Ichigo there because who even the fuck knows how strong he is since we never got to see, but if Yhwach felt the need to break his bankai before he could use it, then it's likely pretty busted. Well, Ryuuken and Ishin were the ones who pulled a fast one that allowed Ichigo to deal the final blow but then again, Kubo did write himself into a corner with how broken he made Bach. I personally would of loved to see Ishin and the rest of the Kaiba family meet up during the fight and i really thought that the way they were gonna defeat Bach was with Tsukishima's ability to influence the past and the memories of his enemies. Wasted potential.
Nimaiya caused so much trouble, all he had to do was slice off Askin's head he even had a second chance to fight Askin but still didn't chop off his head, that's a sure way to kill someone.
Bruh if they did something like the terrorblade and invoker interaction from dota:dragonsblood series Where terrorblade saying he can see countless realities and know everything and invoker just replies with the most badass line, claiming everything terrorblade can see he can imagine with his intellect. Would be a really cool yhwach and urahara interaction.
I don't think Zaraki was enough alone for Aizen, but him, Mayuri and Byakuya were among the most troublesome, Unohana too. Now if Zaraki could have had his restrictions removed somehow, that would be a different story.

After reading the manga I understand why people called Mayuri the MVP of the arc He truly was such a game changer more than anyone else Give this man 10 mins against any opponent (except for Yhwach and maybe Gerard) and he has at least 70 % Chance to win the fight mid diff
I am surprised Imaya didn't made to Juha's list. Imaya is the inventor of Zanpakuto. While Ichibe named everything in giving them power, Imaya having a bunch of Asauchi makes you think he has more than 1 Zanpakuto. I am sure he could take have an answer to any battle and maybe even some Bankais (yes, more than 1) in his disposal. Mayuri is another character but I guess seeing how he matched up against the Left Arm of the Soul King, maybe he really wasn't that much of a threat. It's really hard to compare him to Urahara. Mayuri managed to free zombified Captains and modified his Zanpakuto to a point it can counter anything in Bankai. Prior to the arc I wondered who could make it to the list of 5 war potentials. Juha obviously discarded Yamamoto for not healing his arm and the Vizards seemed like they were wildcards in the battle, but they got shafted worse than in fake karakura town.
Mayuri Kurosutchi should have been on the list. His cautious nature as an amoral mad scientist makes him incredibly dangerous...plus he kinda plucked who knows how many quincies and subjected them to his experiments until they died, all in the name of science. He invents magic bullets
Ichimonji is by far the most broken zanpakuto, because bleach worlds is very connected to "names" like you cant activate your true inner power without knowing the "name", and ichimonji has the power to make anything that his ink touch makes it has no name, means that we will never ever can use the certain power unless all mighty or ichibei himself deactivate it
His mistake was not fearing the map of the war. Mayori Kurotsuchi head of the science division. My boy took out two major Stern-ritters not to mention one being the hand of the soul king. And he saved kenpachi life.
I wish that the fullbringers and Yamamoto should have been War Powers, since the fullbringers were somewhat instrumental in turning the tide of war around, due to Tsukishima’s fullbring helping to repair Zangetsu. And despite Yama being killed, his involvement alone would be enough to decimate all the Sternritters, except for maybe Hashwalt and of course Yhwach himself, I just wish Yama got more time to shine, his speech about why he was the head captain for so long was epic, seeing that again would have been great.
Someone else that should've been on his list? How about the two whom were instrumental in restoring Ichigo's power, Orihime and Tsukishima with their respective fullbrings "Shun Shun Rikka" and "Book of the end"
I believe if Kubo wasn’t rushed to finish the Bleach series we would’ve gotten more action, information, and possibly see more of how the 5 war powers could’ve given Yhwach a considerable amount of trouble. The list is fine as it does suit the strong points of each character.
Unohana should be included. Let’s be honest. Everyone in soul society was scared of her. She „killed” Zaraki hundred or even thousands of times. If she eventually goes berserk, even Yamamoto would have trouble to stop her.
Agreed. Had Unohana not been killed off to make room for Zaraki's story, I think she would have proven to be an oversight by Ywach. She would be impossible for nearly any of them to one-shot, and she's high offense, defense and support (via healing and bakudo). Not tough to imagine her wreaking havoc in a group-wide coordinated battle if she had fully unleashed (not the version of her in filler).

Mayuri is adaptable but most of his wins are because his opponent ate Nemu. Urahara's ability to predict and plan allowed him to predict the outcome of his battle against Askin as coming down to one of 5 possibilities , despite having extremely limited knowledge. Mayuri really is discount Urahara. There's a reason Mayuri lives in his shadow and lives his entire life with the purpose of trying to surpass him.

I've always wondered why Mayuri wasn't on that list. I mean, the guy defeated the Left* hand of God all by himself, he dealt with the Soul Balance problem in the beginning before anyone even knew what was happening, can literally MODIFY his Bankai however he sees fit, handed Toshiro's ass in a matter of seconds and has created dozens of twisted inventions which make him unpredictable in a fight.

I think the issue with Mayuri is that we never really know which side of the fight he is. He's not worth trusting when it come down to things like war. He likes to play with his enemies like he did against the zombie girls and zombie Toshiro. War potential also means that you are being sent out as the main force of the war, not just that you are strong, but for the sake that people know you fight on the "right side" and for the "right reasons".
Now I'm not saying Mayuri would change sides and fight for the Quincies, but he might betray some Shinigamis for his own personal goals and in the end backstab the Quincies in some way.

@Light Revaan while I don't think Yama should be on the list I do think you're understating his strength. we didn't see him fight fake Ywach with his Shikai first off he went straight to Bankai and he ass slapped him. Secondly, the entire time he was fighting in his Bankai he was purposefully restricting his power to an absolute minimum and even that was going to destroy a Planet size dimension if the fight dragged on too long. Yamamoto is easily stronger then Kenny in raw strength ATM! (I'm sure once Kenny master's his Bankai he'll be much more powerful) He's also a Kido Master, and a Master of Hakuda and Shunpo. The reason Yama wasn't a war potential was because of his arrogant attitude. Ywach knew how he could deal with the Head Captain and he knew it would work because of their history and the kind of person that Yamamoto was. I think that if you remove the history that the two share, and just have him as some planet level threat ready to kill the Quincies he would've for sure been on the list because Ywach wouldn't have known how to deal with him and there is no way that any of the Sternritter would beat him 1v1. In my opinion and I think well stated in the manga too, The only people stronger then the Head Captain are Ichigo, Ywach, Ichibei and probably Aizen. So I agree that he definitely isn't worthy of the War Potential list as you said, but he is FAR stronger than Jushiro and Shunsui combined.

Bazz-B literally canceled out Yamamoto's shikai flames without needing his Vollstandig.
Shunsui literally says Toshiro's Zanpakuto is just as strong as Yamamoto's, just with Ice instead of fire. And we get a glimpse lf this in his fight with Garard when Garard was so strong that Toshiro says him simply falling over would destroy the Seireitei.
The instant Yhwach stole Yamamoto's bankai, he raped the old man. Chopping him in half with a single strike then obliterating the corpse. But he didn't even try stealing Ichibe's Bankai.
My point is that without Bankai, Yamamoto is A tier at best. And there are plenty of ways of dealing with his Bankai. Sealing, stealing, luring him to the world of the living...dodging. All his opponent would have to do is avoid Yamamoto as he can only use Bankai for a few minutes (lest he risk destroying the realm he's in as Unahana was already saying he should hurry up during his fight with Loyd) then rush in or use whatever ability they have for the kill once he reverts to Shikai.

From my perspective Mayuri Kurotsuchi turned out to be one of the real MVPs of the war. Not only did he step out of Kisuke Urahara’s shadow he cemented a lot of the small victories. He definitely deserves some credit, if anybody else it’s him.

The 6th "War Power" that Yhwach knew of, but didn't take into account wasn't one of the Shinigami, but instead a Qunicy: Uryū Ishida (ironically designated "A" - "Antithesis") analytical and adaptive ability. Uryū ability to quickly analyze situations and adapt (unlike Urarhara who plans for everything in advance like if it was moves on a chess board) with what tools he has at his disposal was the real thing that gave Ichigo an opening to dispatch Yhwach. My theory is that Yhwach couldn't have seen Uryū turning on him because of the arrowhead made of Still Silver. Yhwach probably knew he would have been an issue but "recruited" Uryū thus feeling he had eliminated the issue. Jugram Haschwalth could see the future because of the temporary transfer of Yhwach's powers (and because he wasn't shot by the Still Silver Arrowhead)... but since he was unable to change the future all he could do was warn Yhwach in the hopes he would change it himself. Jugram knew that Uryū And Ichigo would defeat Yhwach but couldn't stop Uryū from using the Still Silver Arrowhead. I feel that if Yhwach could see the event in full or Jugram could have changed the future, Uryū would have been slayed and Yhwach would have won.
But here's the flaw of Uryu's Still Silver that always bothers me. Yhwach literally has "The Almighty", which allows him to see all possible actions & events in the future constantly. How the heck he didn't see that arrow coming??

You could say his arrogance or ego got to him, or how many possible futures can he see per second etc. Kubo wrote himself into a corner and the only way to kill Yhwch would be some weird plot armour hax type of thing. There's millions of possible ways that scene with Uryu shooting the arrow could have gone, Jugram only showed him one of those scenes were Yhwch died but Yhwch thought it was just a dream not future, still leaves the possibly millions of other scenarios for that one scene. Even if he didn't see himself dying, he still would have seen Uryu there.
I think he lied about the almighty's power. It probably allows him to travel to the future when he would die. When ichigos kid shoved his hand into the black hole at his house he couldn't tunnel to the future, so we cut back to the past and see him during. Even if he can see the future mabey he didnt care with the possible future travel ability or he couldn't see past his death.
@@resurgingflame I think that has to do with the effect of the Still Silver. we think that it only affect Yhawch from the point of impact on... but that's seeing time as a single direction. what if it didn't just had an effect forward but backwards in time too? Still Silver had a limited window of time after the impact, but what if it affected him into the past for the same amount of time? That is supernatural way of looking at it... which isn't beyond the bleach universe.

- Aizen has Ywach under hypnosis (he lost concept of time) he either got him under an illusion that he had altered the future.

I think Shunsui needs to be included in this list. The war was won because of his insight and resolve as a leader to do whatever it takes to win. It was his idea to include Aizen in the war because he knew that Aizen would never side with Yhwach knowing his objective to was to dominate everything in existence (something Aizen wanted for himself).
Shinsui's knowledge of Unohana's past as Kenpachi was pivotal to the development of Zaraki Kenpachi's growth, and in turn would create a monster that would create major problems for the Quincy.
I think the Quincy underestimated the lengths Shunsui would go to win this war and I feel like this should have earned him a spot on that list. It's probably because after Yama is killed, they never suspected the next in line to be a threat, considering Shunsui is always so laid back, you would never expect him to be a leader with such a powerful resolve.
None of that is war potential worthy compared to the others

@@0eyes Because foresight and decisiveness are better qualities than any of the actual people listed. Shinsui made decisions that no one in the Gotei 13 agreed with but those decisions ultimately led to their victory.
The Quincy made a terrible mistake in not killing him first. The failed to see his potential as a leader because he disguised these traits by acting care free. Shinsui is so keen on seeing the true nature of things and knows that it's a weakness for others to know that he has that ability, so he hides that side of himself. It's actually GENIUS.

Mayuri would get his ass handed to him. Askin kept up with Kisuke, who is far above Mayuri in terms of speed and power. Askin has no reason to try and consume Nemu, so 99% chance Mayuri can't infect him with a drug. His Bankai's poison? Askin becomes immune. There's no way Mayuri reasonably puts him down without using Batman logic.

Isshin is on the same level as the above average captain in terms of combat. He is on the same level as yoruichi and kisuke combat abilities. Ryuken is on the same level as the average sternritter without their shrift.

Kisuke is probably one of the most dangerous people in the bleach setting as he is the kind of person to walk up to you smiling before stabbing you in the heart, you sound always be scared of people that say for the greater good and will follow though on anything to achieve it, and unlike Aizen he has almost no Ego this is why I put him above Aizen in his level of danger, Aizen is more powerful but Aizen would never consider sacrificing himself for others so he doesn’t think overs will do the same, apart from this him and Aizen are quite alike in another life they could have even been friends.
I hope the final fight in the anime incorporates all of them in a synchronized strategy against Yhwach which ultimately ends with Ichigo landing the final blow. Just imagine all of them working together with amazing animation and choreography. I know it sounds a bit cliche but it would be way better than the outcome we got in the manga.
You forgot how dangerous Urahara really is Imo everything was set-up way to perfectly for it to be coincidental during that final battle; Aizen being sealed, Ishida being there giving the still Arrow to Uryu, Allowing Uryu to fight alongside Ichigo so that when their bond becomes stronger he could use Uryu to infiltrate the Quincies and to fire the still arrow against Ywach, the fact that he helped the FullBrings enter Soul Society and giving them a chance to repay Ichigo, the Hollows in helping them survive and help the others during the war, provided intel on the Quincies, was responsible for giving back everyone’s Bankais when they were stolen; Immobilizing Askin so that he won’t become a threat to Ichigo and the others. Ichigo gaining his Shinigami powers back and is the person that constantly helps him reach his full potential; allowing Orihime and Chad to tag along to develop their powers so they could be useful. He was even responsible for Tokinada’s assassination in CFYOW; all around chad for creating the Hogyoku to save the soul King even when it initially came from simple curiosity. Not to mention he built the hot springs found under his shop and the seritei which could heal wounds when he SOMEHOW FOUND A WAY into the Soul Palace without the method Aizen would’ve used and analyzed the waters in Kinjro’s hotspring, his reputation and skills were revered that Ichibe trusts Urahara, Kinjiro the man who created the term “Master of Healing” even regarded Ichigo as “Kisuke’s apprentice” as if Ichigo’s background with Kisuke is enough for a member of squad 0 to respect him even more. The man who knew all about Hollowfication even when Aizen was still conducting his own experiments; also knew about the Soul King without Ywach. This man even has Tessai with him a master of Kido holds a position similar to that of Yoruichi among the SS, even Yoruichi follows his orders except when it comes to her own fights and even she is willing to Kill anyone who endangers Kisuke and she even allows Kisuke to do what he wants and thanks to turn back the pendulum we know Kisuke chooses his own missions; and then you have Junta and Ururu arguably the Nemu of Urahara and he achieved it way before Kurutsuchi ever finished his, not only that these two can mature, grow older, but still have their own personalities and feelings. This is the man who saved Misaki and allowed Ichigo to exist, effectively beating Tokinada in creating a Hollow, Shinigami, Fullbring, Human, Quincy Hybrid, and he did it without the hogyoku and also fixing Aizen’s “would-be” botched experiment, meaning Aizen has to literally thank Urahara for giving him the chance to even meet Ichigo. He even created a pathway to Hueco Mundo and Kurutsuchi even admits that among the people outside of the Arrancars and Aizen’s group, only Urahara knew how to get in and out of Hueco Mundo at that time. Achieved Bankai in only three days thanks to a device he himself made. This man even made a seal that Aizen didn’t even know was implanted til the last moment all the while being trolled by Urahara and him literally telling Aizen that he shouldn’t have let his guard down. This man created the term “Hogyoku” a term even Aizen had to use when calling the object (heck he had to steal Kisuke’s to complete his while Kisuke was simply waiting for it to mature and develop on it’s own and bidding time for him to control it so he could use it for the Rei-o), also the fact that Aizen stole Urahara’s Reiatsu cloak design when conducting his experiments.
Heck all the world should thank this man he quite literally fixed everyone’s problem and the best part...it was so subtle he didn’t even get the chance to be repaid in full and he never asked to.
This man is the real Ywach boi could see multiple outcomes without the power of “The Almighty” and still come out on top of everyone.

I get what you mean about Uryu being on the list, but not on the list at the same time. I feel that he is very underrated in the fandom. The Quincy King himself recognized the potential and danger Uryu presented as where everyone overlooked this. He was the only mixed-breed Quincy to survive the purging of mixed-blood Quincy 9 years prior to the start of the TYBW arc (if you think about it, that on it's own makes him a person of interest), and Juha himself stated that Uryu's latent ability could potentially surpass his own (prior to Soul King absorbtion).
Add to the fact that Uryu was pivotal in the final fight, as lets face it, Ichigo would not have won were it not for Aizen and Uryu's help just adds to cement the above stated (Deus ex machina arrow or not🙄).

I think that that has to do more with the way Kubo handled him than with what's stated in the manga. If we have had the chance to see Uryuu in action before the final battle and his treason to Yhwach, fan's perception might've been way more different, like what if Uryuu had beaten and almost killed (again) Mayuri like if he were nothing? Or what if he had lead an attack to the shinigami and taken down several liutenants like flies (and maybe a Captain) all by himself? That would've proved with more actions and not just words why Yhwach chose him as his succesor.
I think Uryu is very powerful and I would place him in my top 10 when ranking the sternritter but where I don't agree is when people say he can defeat guys like Lille or Gerard.

Are we downplaying the fact that all the Yuha Almighty-ness essentially fell to Aizen. Aizen is a greater potential than Yuha himself. That final fight just proved to me that Aizens ability is the only thing absolute in Bleach.

In the spirits are forever with you novel, Aizen stated one of the reasons he kidnapped orihime was because when Soul society found out Ichigo would go and rescue her, they would send captains to help him out and he knew Zaraki would have been one. He also said the two biggest threats to his plans were Yamamoto and Zaraki since Aizen was aware of Zaraki power fluctuations, so dealing with them both at the same time would have been troublesome. So yeah Aizen aware of how much of a threat Zaraki was.

I honestly hope with Bleach coming back that they use the chance to build on a lot of things. While I get why those characters were on the list, others like Tsukishima and Orihime had powers that would warrant concern. And I still wish we had gotten a Hollow/Espada that was considered a major threat (tying in why the Quincy even went after Hueco Mundo)

It wasnt necessarily due to his age, it was more due to his stubbornness. For example, instead of healing his arm he chose to not get it back because he didn't want a humans help. Essentially his pride is what was holding him back from being a danger to Yhwach in the end. He wasn't the bloodthirsty shinigami had been in the past.

It shot every noted that we never see Aizen at his best in this arc. He has 18 seals on him and the chair.
He was released from the chair and Shunsui wa only permitted to undo 3 additional seals.

No, Yamamoto wouldn't have "clapped" Yhwach. He was already reaching his time limit with his Bankai when Yhwach appeared, and Yhwach is much stronger than Loyd. All he'd have to do is hold on a few more minutes at most and Yamamoto would have to remove his Bankai. At which point he'd die. Unahana was already telling him to hurry up before the real Yhwach even appeared.

Kenpachis power is explained in the books that came out. Basically he has infinite rietsu but will always limit himself subconciously to be as powerful as his opponant

It is Ryuken and Uryu who aside from 5 war powers are a threat to Yhwach, since, Ryuken was the one who created an arrow made of still silver, and Uryu have his resistance in auswahlen.
The Real question is, in what order would you rank them
From strongest to least strongest
Aizen >= Ichigo > Ichibe > Kenpachi > Urahara
I put Ichigo there because who even the fuck knows how strong he is since we never got to see, but if Yhwach felt the need to break his bankai before he could use it, then it's likely pretty busted. But we also don't know Aizen's bankai and he's still stronger than the other 5.

Well, Ryuuken and Ishin were the ones who pulled a fast one that allowed Ichigo to deal the final blow but then again, Kubo did write himself into a corner with how broken he made Bach. I personally would of loved to see Ishin and the rest of the Kaiba family meet up during the fight and i really thought that the way they were gonna defeat Bach was with Tsukishima's ability to influence the past and the memories of his enemies. Wasted potential.
Nimaiya caused so much trouble, all he had to do was slice off Askin's head he even had a second chance to fight Askin but still didn't chop off his head, that's a sure way to kill someone.
Urahara was my most favorite of them. He was a genius and full of wits he's always one step ahead.

I am surprised Imaya didn't made to Juha's list. Imaya is the inventor of Zanpakuto. While Ichibe named everything in giving them power, Imaya having a bunch of Asauchi makes you think he has more than 1 Zanpakuto. I am sure he could take have an answer to any battle and maybe even some Bankais (yes, more than 1) in his disposal.
Mayuri is another character but I guess seeing how he matched up against the Left Arm of the Soul King, maybe he really wasn't that much of a threat. It's really hard to compare him to Urahara. Mayuri managed to free zombified Captains and modified his Zanpakuto to a point it can counter anything in Bankai.
Prior to the arc I wondered who could make it to the list of 5 war potentials. Juha obviously discarded Yamamoto for not healing his arm and the Vizards seemed like they were wildcards in the battle, but they got shafted worse than in fake karakura town.
Shūkurō Tsukishima was a potential that din't was predicted. His abilities of altering memories was very dangerous as we saw.
Mayuri Kurosutchi should have been on the list. His cautious nature as an amoral mad scientist makes him incredibly dangerous...plus he kinda plucked who knows how many quincies and subjected them to his experiments until they died, all in the name of science. He invents magic bullets

Ichimonji is by far the most broken zanpakuto, because bleach worlds is very connected to "names" like you cant activate your true inner power without knowing the "name", and ichimonji has the power to make anything that his ink touch makes it has no name, means that we will never ever can use the certain power unless all mighty or ichibei himself deactivate it
I would think if the list was created before the first invasion, then instead of Urahara, that Yamamoto would make that list.
His mistake was not fearing the map of the war. Mayori Kurotsuchi head of the science division. My boy took out two major Stern-ritters not to mention one being the hand of the soul king. And he saved kenpachi life.
I wish that the fullbringers and Yamamoto should have been War Powers, since the fullbringers were somewhat instrumental in turning the tide of war around, due to Tsukishima’s fullbring helping to repair Zangetsu. And despite Yama being killed, his involvement alone would be enough to decimate all the Sternritters, except for maybe Hashwalt and of course Yhwach himself, I just wish Yama got more time to shine, his speech about why he was the head captain for so long was epic, seeing that again would have been great.
Someone else that should've been on his list? How about the two whom were instrumental in restoring Ichigo's power, Orihime and Tsukishima with their respective fullbrings "Shun Shun Rikka" and "Book of the end"
I believe if Kubo wasn’t rushed to finish the Bleach series we would’ve gotten more action, information, and possibly see more of how the 5 war powers could’ve given Yhwach a considerable amount of trouble. The list is fine as it does suit the strong points of each character.

Unohana should be included. Let’s be honest. Everyone in soul society was scared of her. She „killed” Zaraki hundred or even thousands of times. If she eventually goes berserk, even Yamamoto would have trouble to stop her.

Agreed. Had Unohana not been killed off to make room for Zaraki's story, I think she would have proven to be an oversight by Ywach. She would be impossible for nearly any of them to one-shot, and she's high offense, defense and support (via healing and bakudo). Not tough to imagine her wreaking havoc in a group-wide coordinated battle if she had fully unleashed (not the version of her in filler).
