I'm so impressed you got a video up during this busy season! Beautiful autumn footage. My favorite time of year. I haven't even gotten around to decorating yet, but perhaps this weekend. Shabbat Shalom!
thank you for sharing all this physical and spiritual beauty. your tablescapes are always creative and elegant. the food is so delicious- looking. i love that your cat is present. what is his name? he is beautiful. the book sounds interesting. your joke of no naughty rabbi tea is witty. i am sure that your congregation appreciates your sense of humor. fall is probably my favorite time of year. i like living in a four seasons region. the changing of the leaves in this adirondack region is a blessing to behold. i enjoy rain. drizzle even torrential. not having any jewish friends in my town i gave apples and honey to my non- jewish friends. the wife took me to do tashlich. i threw bread crumbs in the water. she threw in scraps of paper with names. last wednesday we went to the farmer's market at saratoga springs. among the vegetables that i bought are beets. i will make your beet salad. chatima tova to you and your family.
Thanks Valerie! Yes, I do have a funny bone and my congregation (generally) appreciates it :-) I am much funnier in real life because I am careful on the internet to make sure a joke doesn’t land badly or causes hurt. So I hold back a little :-) I also share apples and honey and challah and such things with my non-Jewish friends and neighbors and it is always much appreciated. I have two black cats called Merlin (female) and Plum (male). The Shelter from where we adopted them named them and we were happy to keep their names. They are both very sweet.
Thanks for letting us get a glimpse of your Rosh HaShanah celebrations. Glad you had a good holiday surrounded by friends. Your table looked beautiful. What are the Angel cards? Shana Tova
Thank you so much! The ‘angel cards’ are cards listing core Jewish values in Hebrew and English, like ‘patience’, ‘compassion’ and ‘wisdom’. You put them down randomly on your guests’ plates and invite them to reflect how this ‘middah’ (value) speaks to their lives and experience. I got them a long time ago in a Judaica shop and have not been able to find them online.

Thank you so much! I love the integration of the fall esthetic and Sukkot :-)
