"Archeology of the soul" is interesting point. Like... I totally understand what do you mean. Sometimes I not only know that I have something inside, but soooooooo deep in soul, I remember how and when it was very reacheble (I don't know if it's the word, honestly). And today like I need special tools to reach it, because this world is... Not very friendly place most of the time. Funny that sometimes I wish I study archeology and not theology in university :) May be it's time, but not how I expected earlier in life :)

Yes Chanuka is a minor holiday, however this whole combination with Christmas goes against the true meaning of Chanuka. The fundamentalist Jews fought valiantly to rid their land not only of the physical presence of the Greek conquerors but of the Hellenistic culture which went against the Torah, forbidding Sabbath observance, circumcision and Torah learning at the risk of death . You would have Americans celebrate a heavily commercialized version of Victorian style modernized Christmas (Christmas tree and caroling) combined with an apologetic , watered down non fundamentalistic Chanuka. FYI or for all of your uninformed followers, in Europe Christmas was a time when the drunken Christians would attack, rob and kill their Jewish neighbors. What you people need is a Jewish education!

I've always celebrated both of my home. I think we have a little bit of every religion in my family you're from Jews to Catholics to Muslims to Hindus even the Amish and I have never felt out of place in their home and they never found out a place on mine we will come everybody. I honestly believe people do overthink things, a lot of times they overcomplicate things. None of us got into all the gift-giving tell us that's not what it's about and I'm the youngest of 13 so when I say yes you know what I mean😅.
