I would say that the wrapped engines may all be for Australia. The two on the flatcars look like new GT46CU-ACe narrow gauge loco's and the last 8 look to be the last 6 QE Class loco's for Qube(QE007 - QE012) and the first 2 for the new Manildra Mills order for 17 MAN class GT46c-ACe Gen II Loco's.

I was starting to suspect that they were Australian models. They had that hybrid shape to them, a cross between American and European designs with the narrow long hoods and noses flush with the cab, respectively. Surprised they're being exported from Newport News, but I don't think there's any appropriate terminals on the West Coast.

    • @stephenodwyer1123
      @stephenodwyer1123 Месяц назад +1

Not sure about the narrow gauge ones. Not aware of any orders for those. CBH WA has an order for 7 GT46-ACe standard gauge locos, however they also operate on the narrow gauge in Western Australia. The order may have been varied.

@@stephenodwyer1123 The CBH GT46C-ACes aren't due until 2025, and their Cape Gauge locos are coming from Wabtec (G.E.), not Progress Rail (E.M.D.).

0:08 CSX 1853, this trains honks in Ashland
0:53 Ricjardson TP90! An newly-built 500hp diesel switcher from Tractive Power Industries, which also made some 3-axle locomotives like this one
    1:35 CSX 1976 leading
    5:06 Loram grinder
    5:53 old Wagner Mills hopper
    6:40 warbonnet DPU
7:48 KCSM gray trailing on a UP train
8:52 automated inspection train seen between containers
10:12 new EMD locomotives for export. the ones being moved on their own wheels are most likely Australian locomotives, GT46ACes like what many Austrlain freight operators currently use. I can't tell what the ones on the flatbeds are, but my guess is that they're for Queensland which uses 3ft 6in gauge track
    12:23 moPac hopper
    12:35 CP 8757 and KCSM 4557
14:14 this mixed freight has a number of unusual freight cars
15:10 triple-heading SD70M-2s with a Providence and Worchester boxcar on the same train
    16:46 Winchester & Western hoppers
17:07 KCS DPU gets filled with water. It gets mixed with the coolant
19:32 first time I've seen a Harcon bucket boat
22:35 large mOW equipment attached after the tail DPU
23:19 double stacked trashtainers through Roanoke
23:45 ALC42 306 pulling the Empire Builder, then six vans from the 70s leave the parking lot

😎 train i used to live a hour from pdc wi and I'd go up there and check out locos now I'm in Madison and walk up the road and check out the rail yard. But only issue here is if you're walking around you might get stopped by one going to gas station or library sometimes they go half way through then back up but usually don't have to many cars on them

At 6:19, those are power transformers, that come even larger with cars split totally to transport them. If not power transformers the equivalent. Does anyone know the manufacturing plant? Is it ABB that used to be Westinghouse located in Virginia, far west, as I recall it was South Boston, Virginia. Has nothing to do with Boston, or is it General Electric in Shreveport, LA. Or is it imported via Ship to USA and moved by rail. All the plated ports on the side are likely the cooling radiators And associated pumps for oil circulation. If anyone knows, it’s been 10 yrs past for me, it might be interesting to some who I am and what we purchased from General Electric Shreveport, LA, ABB South Boston, VA, and ABB Bland, Virginia. Both ABB plants were Westinghouse then acquired by ABB. I didn’t cover these large units, but 350 million dollars, every three years, from these plants. All American. Much smaller units, but trucked from the factories mentioned. Much of the GE plant moved to Monterey, but we refused to purchase our units, only if they stayed in Shreveport, for reasons unrelated to cost, we paid more, there were 450 workers at the plant, half of the business moved, not our network underground transformers and the workers and the plant stayed, very specialized, trucked all the way. But that was 10 yrs ago or so. Others (USA utility companies) purchased too, but we had 90% of their production remaining. The units on the rail cars were others in my company engineering wise, but could be ABB South Boston VA. The ABB plant made much larger units even larger than those on the rail cars. From Purchase Order to ABB, to rail car could be well over a year. To build and deliver. Remember, ABB plants was Westinghouse. ABB is an international Company. ???
