Hey Marshall and family. I have been watching all the old videos today. Just needed to hear her laugh and the sound of her sweet peaceful voice. I miss my mom and I miss your mom. Thanks for keeping her videos on your U-tube. Your mom and you touch millions of life's and you and your dad and family are still touching lifes. Jesus is Lord. From North Carolina
I have always used 1 cup left-over mashed potatoes, 2 T. flour, 2T. cornmeal, 1 egg, salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder and sometimes a dash or two of Old Bay seasoning to one can salmon to make Salmon patties. Momma's recipe looks and sounds so delicious. I must try!!
Momma Joyce all your recipes are simply wonder and love your utensils they’re to the point . There’s nothing like a meatless meal pintos, cornbread and slaw yummie. 👍🏾👍🏾
I enjoyed the video! Thanks for taking the time to make them for us! Here is the recipe I use for Salmon Patties and it's the best one I've ever tried. Salmon Patties 14-3/4 oz. can salmon, drained and flaked 1/4 c. onion, finely chopped 1/4 c. cornmeal 1/4 c. all-purpose flour 1 egg, beaten 3 T. mayonnaise ( I use Dukes, it's the BEST! :) ) salt and pepper to taste 2 T. oil ( TO FRY THEM IN ) Combine all ingredients except oil. Mix until well blended; form into 4 to 5 patties. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add patties and cook until golden on each side, turning only once as patties are fragile. Drain on paper towels. Makes 4 to 5 servings.
Hi. I came here from your FB page. 😊 I wanted to share how I make my salmon patties with you since you are welcoming our input. 1 can drained salmon, 1 egg, Dash of hotsauce, Salt/pepper to taste and 1/2 run of Saltine crackers crumbled up semi fine. Mix all together. Scoop up a dollop and patty cake them by hand to shape accordingly. Fry in pan with oil til crispy on both sides. Place them on top of napkin covered plate so all the extra oil is soaked up. Serve with a dollop of ketchup on top of each patty and a small lettuce & tomato salad on the side. Viola! Thank you for sharing all of your recipes. I'm loving the videos and trying the recipes out. 💗
That looks so good!!! My mama always made them with tuna and added a few drops of lemon juice to the top when they were done! Yummy. Much love to Mama and thank you Marshall for filming these for us. Love them.
These look amazing! Thank you so much for sharing your recipes with us and what a treasure your family will have for generations to come!! Glad I found your channel, I'm a new fan!
My mama and grandmama always used stale bread torn into pieces, an egg, onion and celery and left the juice instead of draining. I do the same. I am going to try it Mama Joyce’s way next time though. They look yummy! I love y’all so much! Thank you!
I make them all the time for my family. I use saltines and Cajun seasoning. Still salt, pepper, egg. I’ll have to try mommas recipe! I love to watch her videos. Can’t wait to try spinach and eggs! Much love from NC!! (Keep the videos comin! I love good ol country cookin!)
I used to catch Salmon in Montana and make Salmon patties. I am going to try this recipe. I also make my own tarter sauce for them, using mayonnaise and a spoonful of sweet relish. DELICIOUS...!
Momma these look awesome. Takes me back to my childhood growing up in the East Tn mountains. The only I out in is diced celery. Also I never used Ketchup. I`m going to try it!!!
🎉❤😊 fish patties we had about 2 times a month growing up. I liked them and they were also on my rotation when my children we growing up. We would even make a fish loaf when my kids were young. God bless you and your this holiday season 🙏 keep Christ in Christmas 🎄 🎉❤😊
Marshall, please ask Momma Joyce to make some potato cakes/ patties. My Momma used to save all her left over mashed potatoes & fix these when we were young.
That made me think of hoe cakes!! I would love to see her recipe for those!! My beloved mother recently passed in August..I never got moma's recipe for those..I was too busy eating em! Lol!! I'm from South Carolina..would love to see her hoe cakes!!
Hi...I love salmon patties. All I use is one can pink salmon, drained, 1 egg, heaping tbsp flour, 8-10 saltines crushed, mix together, if to wet, add more crushed crackers, if to dry, add some liquid from drained salmon. make patties and fry. Yummmy.
My late wife use to fix us salmon patties recently my youngest son asked me did I know how your recipe is amazing I forward this video to my son. Thank you Mama!!!
These look amazing!! I thought I made good Salmon Patties, but I think these look like they blow mine out of the water!! I will be trying this recipe!❤😋
This is similar how my Momma made her Salmon patties. She didn't use hot sauce or ketchup. She didn't use milk I don't think but they were good. She used to let us 6 kids have the bones from the middle before she mixed it up.
Gonna try Mommas recipe. I make them often and add red pepper and parmesan cheese with Italian breadcrumbs onion and some dill seasoning, usually an egg or 2. Then I shape and dredge in panko before pan frying. Cant wait to try the buttermilk and cornmeal!! I also make a dipping sauce with ketchup and mayo mustard hot sauce...whatever I grab and always a hit with my family. My grandmother made them every holiday and we all loved em😍
I use tuna instead of salmon....mainly because we always have tuna in the pantry...and I do add a touch of flour....no catsup, but most everything else you used. Its so good, we make sandwiches/burgers with them. Very simple and it makes the fish go a little further for those on a budget.
I love Salmon Patties. Love the drop in method. That’s awesome. I like to add a little green pepper to mine too. I will definitely try the buttermilk and cornmeal and not flour.
I love Mama Joyce she's so special to me I learn a lot about cooking I love salmon cakes I don't think we all live far far away I live in Virginia to meet Marshall Lynn and your family dad maybe someday Jesus will let us have a great day today it's Monday
Instead of corn meal, i use a sleeve of saltine crackers crushed, and i add a splash of lemon juice. Never added ketchup or the salmon liquid. Did Mama take the bones out of the salmon or did she crush them up? Ive heard they’re edible but I’ve never tried them. I always de-bone. Eat them with mashed potatoes and green peas. Yummo!
Yes, those little green peas are a favorite of my husband and cream potatoes were always served with salmon patties at my grandmother’s in Bama. Wonderful memories of all the cousins, Aunts & Uncles whole family gathering at her house every Sunday afternoon.

My granny work in the hospital. This is how they make them. Granny did too and i followed too. 1 can drained Salmon 1 egg crushed up crackers. Mix together, shape into patties and fry, place on plate with paper towels.
We always add capers, Dill Weed and Parsley. And we form them with our hands into patties (like hamburgers) and coat them in cornmeal before frying. I even made some recently and cooked them in my Airfryer instead of oil frying - they turned out great.
I learned to make them from my grandma. No ketchup in ours. Used Dijon mustard or stone ground garlic mustard (my preference). Also would add a little bit of finely minced sweet peppers...green or colored, just depended what was on hand. She always served them with creamed peas (I hate them). Not sure why..I like my peas with just a touch of butter, salt and pepper. Good eating right there!
My mama always put flour and a few crackers crumbled up in them with one egg . I never heard of buttermilk and ketchup in them but dang if ain't gonna try that recipe and I promise sir I will tell you how I like it because to be honest when I do it the way my mama did the patties always fall apart oh and I forgot to make them go farther my mama always added a can of tuna to the salmon thank you and thank your mama in heaven God bless both of you

Love salmon patties! I pick most of the bones out and drain most of the liquid off and add to a bowl. Take 8 saltine crackers and crush them almost to a flour consistency and add to salmon, 1 beaten egg, salt and pepper and mix well. I always put mine in the fridge until ready to cook. On a separate plate I mix flour, salt and pepper and patty the salmon out and flour them on both sides- then fry in oil until crispy on both sides.
I do egg, onion, salt, pepper ,cornmeal and add bell pepper sometimes and then put some cornmeal on a plate and coat both sides and then fry. Makes it crispy. I’ll have to try these delicious add ins you have done. Are y’all still hacked on Facebook? So sad that people do that.
