  • It was back in Autumn 2010 when I had joined my PhD program in Quaid-e Azam University, Islamabad and was pursuing my coursework. During those days, Jibran, President of Gilgit-Baltistan Councile or shortly as GBC (a students forum within the university) and other fellows invited me to an event. The program was organized by GBC about Gilgit-Baltistan Liberation Day on November 1, 2010. Dr. Sher Zaman, a respectable personality, an honest and retired bureaucrat as Joint Secretary in the Establishment Division (Islamabad), Engineer Muhammad Darajat (an outstanding development professional) and many other important people were invited to this program. It was thus here, where I was also asked to talk on the occasion. However, it was a coincidence, I came across the recording of that talk of November 2010 and I am therefore going to publish it here on EaglesWorld. Beside others, a couple of burning issues such as the mega level dam construction, being constructed unlawfully and forcefully in the region, has also been discussed in this talk. It thus ends with one of my Urdu poetries on Gilgit-Baltistan and its significant position in different context.
I hope the audience will like the talk especially the concerned and respective inhabitants of the region, more particularly the conscious youth (both male and female), will open their internal eyes regarding the genuine rights of human and other creatures being violated in an insane manner. Not only so, the suppression by the external usurpers and exploiters through their internal pets and agents are highly alarming. In this regard, it is incumbent upon all related stakeholders Not only to raise their genuine voices but rather come up with concrete stragegies and actions in a productive manner.
Note: The poetry of the importance and position of Gilgit-Baltistan has also been published on my poetry channel named DiamondWorld and can be accessed on the following link here:
