Happy new year to you too. Can you believe January is almost done. And thank you for the compliment on my hair. This is such an easy style for my thin hair.

Simply brilliant. New subbie. I have a ton off fold over elastic. I can't wait to make panties.

I love sewing with fold over elastic. I even used it on a light weight pants as a waist finish instead of a facing. I will be talking about it in my next video where I show how I design my no side seam pants.

Yes clappers are madefrom maple wood ,it's most resilient against misshaping under steam . To bend most of woods (asside engeenered (glued) wood ) craftsmens use stream-at least212F (eu boiling water ).

I came across your channel through Glenda' s SureFit Designs, and I must say I have learned a lot from both of you. I enjoy your thorough explanations . I have just discovered Seraflex, which is the Amann stretch thread, while Metaflex is from Guttermann, not yet so known here as Seraflex. The"...flex" thread is indeed great. My Husqvarna deals with tension based on the type of fabric, so I didn't change the tension, just used a 3mm straight stitch and the seams did not pop up as usual when sewing a very stretchy fabric. I used it in both the bobbin and the needle.
I intend to test it on the coverlock machine in the next project.
Using the fold elastic the way you demonstrate it makes quartering the circumference no longer necessary.

@Anca van der Meij Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I love hearing what everybody else have tried. We all learn from each other.

Love all of the tips 👍 will be awesome if you do a sew along for panties! I’m always struggling to find the right fit for my daughter, she’s in a wheelchair and needs good coverage at the back and a higher rise. Bought ones always seem to get stuck in the wrong places!! 😅

Wonderful video as ever Elsabie and thank you 💕 but…
I have real problems serging seams where the “open” method of binding is used and side seams, shoulder seams are sewn after. The serger seems to bunch up at the start and the stitch lines never meet. Also, the serger seems to stall over the thicker bulk and the stitching is all out. I’m not sure this even makes sense, but in essence…how do you serge bulkier seams without distorting them. I use a Babylock Imagine serger. Where am I going wrong?🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Hi Bev, thanks for watching this video and asking your question. There are 3 steps that I follow when overlocking bulky fabric. I will do a short video for next week on my steps that I follow.

Hi Elsabe. Does the maraflex have to go in the bobbin as well?

Hi Angela, it goes in the bobbin as well. I am waiting for the rep to come see me for a fill up on my stand, then I will do a detailed video on this thread

So you can do straight stitch on a home sewing machine using that thread?
