What Austin is saying is very accurate, based on what I've observed in Brazil due to living and working here for the past 12 years and now having started my own Brazilian family down here with a Black Brazilian women. Most people in LATAM stick to their own race or own phenotype and will typically prefer that, and this may seem contradictory to what countries like Brazil promote themselves as being, but this is true. If you come here as a black man and you exclusively pursue white women, and mestiza/parda women here, especially if you are looking for something serious like marriage and not a one night stand or fling, you will run into some difficulty. If you pursue Black Latina women in black cities (Salvador, Brazil or like Buenaventura, Colombia), a black man will have far more success. I think the issues is black guys come to LATAM and want non-black women, but most non-black people in LATAM see black skin as having a lower status (even if the black person is doing well for him or herself) or as unattractive, even if the black person is a 8, 9 out of 10 in looks, you'll still see non-black Latin American people (who are average themselves) calling that black person "ugly" or "not very attractive". They associate lighter skin or being white with being attractive by default. It's engrained into their culture so much, they can't even see beauty in people with African characteristics. It's best to stick to Black women in LATAM because they are the ones who are far more likely to want a relationship with a black guy. Non-black women at best will mostly hook up with black dudes low-key, but very rarely would they publicly assume a serious relationship with a black dude (this should be common sense), especially if they come from well to do, middle class families. This is just the honest truth.

This is also a factor, but being White gets you a few points over being Black, especially if the Black and White are "equal" all things considered. When I was in Japan and China I made sure not to hang out with White men for this very reason. It wasn't out of hatred for the White men (except for those that want to take their racism and get off on anti-Blackism; a sizable portion, at least in Asia). If I was going out to get girls, I wanted to maximize my chances, meaning don't be compared with the White men that they really want, the taller Black man, or the aggro Black man (who might fit a stereotypical niche, or would ruin my chances with the "normal" women that I had a chance with).

If serious women are not looking at you, it might be that they know you are not ready to be serious. Your experiences are just anecdotes and tantamount to stereotyping. Statisticians would not use your experiences to extrapolate anything. We would need hundreds of brothers to detail their experiences and figure out what is what. Yes there is preference for whites in some segments of the population due to historic reasons but I think it represents a minority. I am African and have been in Latin America. Most folks view any black person using the local black person as a reference point. And the local black people not all are usually poor and denied opportunities. They would not have any idea that a black man like me makes over $100K a year and I don’t want them to know either. You cannot let ignorant people dictate how you live your life. There is good people everywhere. By the way when an African American goes to Africa loads of women automatically believe they are rich which may be true on a comparative basis but that guy could be making $50K a year which is not a lot by US standards. So you also get the benefit some of these white guys get.

What Austin is saying is very accurate, based on what I've observed in Brazil due to living and working here for the past 12 years and now having started my own Brazilian family down here with a Black Brazilian women. Most people in LATAM stick to their own race or own phenotype and will typically prefer that, and this may seem contradictory to what countries like Brazil promote themselves as being, but this is true. If you come here as a black man and you exclusively pursue white women, and mestiza/parda women here, especially if you are looking for something serious like marriage and not a one night stand or fling, you will run into some difficulty. If you pursue Black Latina women in black cities (Salvador, Brazil or like Buenaventura, Colombia), a black man will have far more success. I think the issues is black guys come to LATAM and want non-black women, but most non-black people in LATAM see black skin as having a lower status (even if the black person is doing well for him or herself) or as unattractive, even if the black person is a 8, 9 out of 10 in looks, you'll still see non-black Latin American people (who are average themselves) calling that black person "ugly" or "not very attractive". They associate lighter skin or being white with being attractive by default. It's engrained into their culture so much, they can't even see beauty in people with African characteristics. It's best to stick to Black women in LATAM because they are the ones who are far more likely to want a relationship with a black guy. Non-black women at best will mostly hook up with black dudes low-key, but very rarely would they publicly assume a serious relationship with a black dude (this should be common sense), especially if they come from well to do, middle class families. This is just the honest truth.

I am a 52 year old Black man who lives in Medellin. I respect your opinion and experience but I have not had the same experience. That's true. But what you don't realize it's also how HOT the white guy with you is. Try going out with an UNattractive white guy → you'll be surprised, complete the opposite. I'm white. When I'm approaching / doing game with a wing/bros who are very handsome → I get none or the ugliest ones. But if I'm with less attractive ones OR alone - I get the best I can.
This is also a factor, but being White gets you a few points over being Black, especially if the Black and White are "equal" all things considered.
When I was in Japan and China I made sure not to hang out with White men for this very reason. It wasn't out of hatred for the White men (except for those that want to take their racism and get off on anti-Blackism; a sizable portion, at least in Asia). If I was going out to get girls, I wanted to maximize my chances, meaning don't be compared with the White men that they really want, the taller Black man, or the aggro Black man (who might fit a stereotypical niche, or would ruin my chances with the "normal" women that I had a chance with).

And while both numbers are low, foreign women are still interested in American men due to their generally good reputation for treating women well ---- especially when compared to local men in certain other countries.
Conclusion. How men are treated differently (based on color and nationality) might --- to some degree ---- depend on how women perceive our ability to bring value to their life. Let's assume women in South America already have some preconceived notions. Depending on these notions, the preferred race (for a man) might depend on whether a woman wants to: (a) dance at the club and hook-up or (b) reserve a romantic table for two and work on steering a man towards marriage. If serious women are not looking at you, it might be that they know you are not ready to be serious.
The mind blowing irony is that an older middle age white man who demonstrates any intention of seriousness becomes a prime target for beautiful women looking for a serious relationship. And make no mistake, a serious relationshp is the goal of many foreign women. If this is her goal, do not understimate her ability to identify a man's intention.

Your experiences are just anecdotes and tantamount to stereotyping. Statisticians would not use your experiences to extrapolate anything. We would need hundreds of brothers to detail their experiences and figure out what is what.
Yes there is preference for whites in some segments of the population due to historic reasons but I think it represents a minority. I am African and have been in Latin America. Most folks view any black person using the local black person as a reference point. And the local black people not all are usually poor and denied opportunities. They would not have any idea that a black man like me makes over $100K a year and I don’t want them to know either.
You cannot let ignorant people dictate how you live your life. There is good people everywhere. By the way when an African American goes to Africa loads of women automatically believe they are rich which may be true on a comparative basis but that guy could be making $50K a year which is not a lot by US standards. So you also get the benefit some of these white guys get.
