I fish that stretch regularly, and Andrew’s bang on. Great work fella. An England national in the making.
A natural on the camera this lad 👌
Try not to let 'wine, women and song' take you too far from the water's edge Andrew. A good natural angler and a star of the future in the making. Cheers Andrew and Sonubaits.
Great video and lots of good info, please can I ask what elastic that was
thanks
Rich.
Hi Rich,
It was a No5 Dura Slip elastic on the deeper swim bottom of the slope. And a no5 Slip further across in the shallower water.
@@Sonubaits Can I ask why the different elastic, I am just about to re-do my canal top kits for autumn and winter canal fishing "proper canals not commercial canals" and I am not sure about the 5 dura is it soft enough for 1-3 oz roach
thanks
The Dura Slip has a bit more 'umph' behind it so helps to set the hook properly in the slightly deeper water. The no5 Slip is very soft and when a fish is hooked swims out of the peg without splashing on the surface and potentially spooking any other fish sat over the bait. If it turned into a day of catching big skimmers the Dura Slip would have got more of a workout, but as it happened Andrew caught a nice mix. Worked really well for the perch though. 👌
@@Sonubaits thanks
5:11 all fish jump out next to reeds, did you have much pike trouble?
Never had any take any fish but did have occasional spells where it would go quiet. The fish spooking like that happened three or four times throughout the day so suspected there were pike about!
That eequipment and bait choice is just overkill. If the fish are there, you can use only live worms or pinkies, and light sling. Thats it. Nothing else.
How is it overkill?
If it was overkill, he wouldn't have caught such a decent net of fish, would he?
