As someone who grew up on tape machines when digital was in its infancy and incapable of hard disc recording, I can tell you that this is what we always wanted. It’s why the cassette multitrack machines sold (I still have several in a closet upstairs). I wish I were young enough to adapt to these new apps as quickly as you are.
That said, I agree that iPad Pro is hands down the best tool on a plane. My app of choice is Presonus Notion because I’m an orchestral guy these days. My guitars sit neglected in the corner, fellow victims of arthritis. You’re absolutely right that you can get away with using an iPad on a plane when everyone else is chafing as their laptops lie under the seat in front of them. I find it hard to get inspired on a plane where you’re oxygen-deprived and not altogether comfortable. But I have learned to save the busy work for those times. Once an orchestral idea is sketched, fleshing out the parts is more or less perfunctory. Kudos to Apple for the iPad Pro and AirPods Max!

I played the guitar for about 3 years when I broke my left wrist while showing off as teenage boys do. I never played again because of that injury. I miss it so. Now I watch and listen to you and dream of what might have been. You truly live in a different time. The tools you have are truly unique and wonderful. Then add in the genius of your music. WOW!!!!!

I have my 1000$ MacBook Air with my 200$ Logic Pro I bought in 2011 which I use in remote with my 300$ iPad 10. It’s not exactly the same setup but at least, I own it and it’s a major point.

I was talking to my elder brother John and I sent him some of your YT channel, he said that you reminded him of someone close, our mother!
Although she wasn't a singer or musician as such, her talking voice was very similar to yours and she was the most intelligent person I knew!
She strted life in Oxford, so had a very pure Oxford (Queen's English) accent. As well as bringing up all 5 of her children (and a wayward husband) she was a teacher and respected by everyone who knew her, except those of extreme Right Wing tendancies. We all loved her very much. Her side of the family was steeped in music, with her (our)great, great, great Grandfather being the composer/virtuoso violinist of the mid 1800s Ferdinand David, lifetime friend of Felix Mendellsohn,
The current generation are all musical to some extent, but not active, although I wish I was!! ~Richard

    Hi Mary
Don’t get carried away with the capabilities of the tech, sometimes just you a guitar and the song is enough. Like having a live “you” in my hand.
Might I suggested you do a simple studio, produced studio with visuals and live version of each of your songs in a video. You can then judge which works best for each song type. The simple and produced versions can be built from the same recordings, the live from you with a guitar - single shot either with or without backing or even both. You get a huge expansion of your catalog akin to what most studios would do with an artist to maximise exposure and income.
Your skill set is amazing now. Oh and try a collaboration with Nandi Bushell.

It would be very interesting listening to you comparing Final Cut Pro with Garage Band. What is the main reason stepping up to FCP when Garage does a really good work already?. We have made a lot of songs on G.B and thinks it sounds pretty well. Thanks a lot for you sharing videos!

After making videos about mobile music production for 3 years it's so awesome to see apple bring Logic Pro a proper DAW to iPad!

I‘ve been very sceptical on Logic for iPad as I am using it on my MacBook with a ton of third party plugins. But now that I‘ve seen you working that intuitively with it it’s really impressing!

My iPad has been my recording platform for years, ever since Auria Pro was released. That with AUM, a few plugins, and a decent interface (I have an Audient iD4), it's not only an incredible recording platform but also a formidable synth and sampler with the addition of a few choice apps and a midi controller.

This is a very persuasive demonstration. I'm a Mac user and have Logic Pro, but my tablet and phone are Android. (Samsung, both good ones.) Now I'm going to have to think seriously about maybe changing tablets when the time comes.

I'm not sure I understood any of this, but I loved the output. If those tools help you do things better and easier, then go for it.

Future content creators are going to have neck and upper back problems because of this way of working, but that’s where Apple’s AR/VR headset comes in! Loved the video Mary, it was beautifully executed. Thanks for illustrating these brilliant apps in a very professional and artistic way. ❤

Just ordered my iPad Pro 12.9”, can’t wait, so watching plenty of videos to prepare myself. Live on a horse farm with an off the grid solar studio and stage, and incorporating drone footage, so this technology looks like the bees knees. Cheers from Aotearoa/NZ, for the inspiration.
