Great content - I love seeing how people deal with things away from western society - which is always about how we did it 25 years ago! Repair, not replace.

It is so much more difficult to get parts and materials in Asia. Usually there is no option of replacing a small part.. either fix or replace the entire component.

A really well made start on a channel. I got bing-trapped last night.😂
Please put some cruising episodes from the Hong-Kong, Macau and mainland China (if possible?) area on your "ToDo" list when the boat is ready.
Best of luck with the project and cruising in the years to come. Regards from Norway ✋

Why can't a boat engine run a closed cooling system with a radiator? It looks like a problematic system using raw seawater.

The problem is the corrosive nature of sea water. If only the oceans were fresh water

The boat engine can if the owner can find a suitable place for the air radiator and handle the noise from a constantly running fan.
Some setups has pipes going outside of the hull for cooling but then you get the through hull dilemmas.
On a sailboat cooling could possibly be done in the keel, but again maintenance and expansion and contraction between different materials could create issues.
So I guess it boils down to preferences and tradeoffs, as with everything else in a boat.
