- Northern Ireland's First Minister Michelle O'Neill was in front of the Covid Inquiry this week where she was quizzed on her attendance at the funeral of Bobby Storey, a former member of the IRA, whilst lockdown measures were still in place during the pandemic.

She says the word sorry but her tone and demeanour tell a very different story
As much as I enjoy Michelle O’Neill being the FM, she needs to take the L here. Not as egregious as what went on in Westminster but she knew she shouldn’t have done it.
I couldn’t go and be in hospital with grandfather with Alzheimer’s in hospital before he died and I had no choice
you did have a choice mate, even if you think you didnt
@@TheRapierTheBetter what was my choice tell me? Break onto the ward and get escorted of the premises or arrested
@@jlewis2890 yes.
@@TheRapierTheBetter right so that makes things a lot better sad upset and in police custody that’s logical
@@jlewis2890 not necessarily
Who remembers pubs having to close by 10 o'clock? I 'member.
Still do in Scotland!
I lost 21 members of my family due to Covid-19 and was not able to say goodbye to them or attend their funerals.
Her behaviour is atrocious.
What about the Families of the DISAPPEARED!
Very cold calculated apathy attitude woman O Neil...
She as with all the other ministers all the same rules for thee not for me . And a traitor to her own
It's as if she was involved in regular piss ups in downing street. SMH
Like any politician, they will put posturing above public health because they didn’t give a damn
Unlike the British government cabinet though, she wasn't attending numerous drinking parties..
Unlike Rishi, she apologised at the inquiry. He tried every excuse in the book not to.
Lying seems second nature to this person. It seems like shes lying here
So the scandal is not that she attends a funeral of a terrorist, but that she broke the nonsensical cv rules.
Classic politics Joe
Terrorist is a loaded word. What the English did to the Irish over many years Is infinitely worse than what the IRA ever did, yet somehow they’re the only guilty party?
Make it make sense
already shows more contrition and decency than Bojo in the first minute or so.
and what about Boris at least Michelle can tell the truth R.I.P. Bobby
Check out the crowds lining the route of Vera Lynn's military funeral just one month after the funeral of Bobby Storey.
Just saying...
AFTER
Interesting. More than meets the eye here.
So we have a loyalist barrister educated at Cambridge and a British adjudicator presiding over an inquiry involving a Sinn Fein minister regarding a former IRA members funeral.
Of course there will be no bias involved. (Cough)
What was the outcome again of the entire British cabinet breaking lockdown rules to have numerous drinking parties.
PM Rishi refused to apologise,
got a fine he never had to pay and promoted to PM by his party.
some of the questions in this made me boak.
7:28 🤮
the covid inquiry is far wider than just Sinn Fein. The idea that they should get a special judge a lawyer just for them is ridiculous.
Ah smell orange
Awesome.
🤣😂 - who remembers BoJo suggesting HERD IMMUNITY?!
Optics wise, I kind of feel like she’d have been better saying look this wasn’t any funeral, it was a major and important event for republicans, I realise people would be upset because they couldn’t attend their family funerals - I accept that view but I’m not wrong for going, having been invited by the family , and just own it. I’m not saying that makes what she did right - but that seems easier to defend and less sort of slithery. Also the chair suggestion that it was hypocritical is unfair. There is no parallel at all between Boris partying, and going to a funeral of an important figure when you are essentially the leader of that cause (regardless of how people might feel about that cause).
'The home of free speech is on LBC,' as Oli stated last night on his show.
Sadly not however if your name is Sangita Myska, justifiably interrogating an Israeli official. Bungled out the back door - not a word from fellow presenters.
Very disappointing - very disappointing indeed.
The Northern Ireland's First Minister Michelle O'Neill, has my utmost respect for being so honest.
Some people are cucks.
if she was a regular person she'd have faced the law
disappointing to see such excessive contrition. this is purely an act of humilation, a speciality of the british empire and its thugs.
😶
Bobby Storey was a thorn in the side of the occupying forces, not least in the organisation of the Long Kesh concentration camp breakout.
Just saying....
That blonde interrogator Clair Dobbin is hilarious. She's the biggest ham I've ever seen. She seems devastated over the fiver she lost on her way back from the coffee shop.
She does appear entirely un legal
Apologise to a British??? Id ..yuk

Can't believe how petty the Irish and British are.
Another classic case of someone who isn't sorry for their actions, they're just sorry they got caught and are now getting lambasted for it.
Rubbish.
Would you like to explain how she should have acted differently in this situation? It seems she's apologised at every opportunity, she's certainly made an effort at least to appear sincere, so what more do you expect exactly?
@@dog-jk2hn Act different by not being in that situation to begin with. She doesn't deserve respect for apologising for flaunting the rules that prevented people from seeing their loved ones and going to their funerals. She shouldn't have done it in the first place.
I spoken to a British army officer , he spoke the truth.
Yes there was a minority.
But
His job was to protect the 98% against the 2%. So fuck the sinn fein now and forever mi5 traitors.
@@dog-jk2hnas the first minister of a country you should have the necessary brainpower to not make simple mistakes like this in the first place.
Is the outrage because she broke the rules or because she attended the funeral of an IRA volunteer? 🤔
She doesn't have to justify herself to anybody.
Why? Everyone one else has to
Absolutely abhorrent
Is it really? At the end of the day, she shouldn't have done it, but it was only a funeral. It wasn't, say, a whole party.
@@dog-jk2hnwhile it may not have been a whole party, the fact it still seems to be one rule for those in power and another for everyone else is still frustrating
@@dannyeleternity7390 It is, but at the same time, she's getting grilled for this years later. And it isn't like she was the only person that broke these sorts of rules. She shouldn't have done it, but at least in her case, to suggest she got away with it is sort of a mischaracterization
@@dog-jk2hn No but she is a political leader. He was a terrorist and murderer. 'He had a rival for Gerry Adams beaten. Not an enemy, an actual fellow IRA member who had the audacity to argue with Adams. He was responsible for the IRA being engaged in numerous bank, post office and other robberies. When Border fuel laundering and other activity was taken into account it all amounted to a multimillion pound criminal empire. Bobby was overseeing it all. And this woman went to his funeral!
@@dog-jk2hn It sparked a flair in tenshions between communities which she know it was going to do.
