    As soon as I heard RMJ I'm like yup. This is going to be awesome. If Ryan johnson is involved, I know it will be good. RMJ is one of the best tomahawk companies out there. And not only that the back story behind this particular company that makes this hawk, not talking about RMJ specifically. But it's an american company making an american made hawk. With the story of an american veteran. I might have to buy one.

    I paid like $40 for my USA made tomahawk..the Estwing Black Eagle,it might not be a RMJ but it was forged from a single piece of steel and like all Estwing tools,it will last a lifetime and then some..plus is better than many tomahawks that cost 3 or 4 times as much

      @danbrookes3942 I did and he loved it. He braided a landyard for it and has used it to clear a little brush around his yard. The nylon handle almost makes it feel cheap but it's dense and feels solid. I'd maybe do the wood handle if I got another.

    • @danbrookes3942
      @danbrookes3942 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@Terron35 nice one, glad to hear it, sounds like he's made good use out of it then. It would definitely be a fantastic birthday present for sure. Yeah I know what you mean, although it is most likely a lot stronger than a hickory handle, there is something nice about hickory. I'm in the UK and have made a few tomahawks with my dad, mostly stock removal on second hand heads, as well as full tang fireman hatchets that we modded to resemble the rmj hawks. Heavily modified an estwing tomahawk too. I managed to get an rmj kestrel a week ago, have been after one for 4 years. you never ever see them here usually and if you do they go for stupid money because we can't get them anymore, one actually came up for sale on eBay and I got it for 359. I bet that Winkler of yours is pretty neat too.

The price for different sizes goes from 125.00 to 200.00. Not associated with the company just a very happy customer of their product. I have a tomahawk that has a 2lb head on it, its very unwieldy to swing as a as a tactical tool which is what the Lagana design was meant to be.

      @Zane Blaire what else would the purpose of a tomahawk be? It’s meant for chopping wood and self defense in emergency situations... you wanna add a red dot scope to it and a pike on one side with a built in bottle opener and farro rod as well as a built in radio go for it, that way it’s “not only for chopping wood”

    Them were made for busting straps on crates in Vietnam I know that was the intent and small camp chores not for combat but some of us used them for killing and combat but not what they was made for I'm a buddy of Terry best using his tablet watching this people are out of there league when talking about that hawk most of it is bull

    Right tool for the job! It's a tactical tool. Not made for woodcraft in any way. Trying to desperately sell something . Sorry but you are talking crap. This is a tactical tool. Using modern material. For collectors buy the woodern handle version. For those who like to play. Buy this. For those in the military, buy this version if RMJ hawks are too much money. If you can carry another additional weight.

    Too much money, but its a well designed all around tomahawk and key is the awesome sheath. If you cant carry it as necessary for the intended use then it's not very useful, so that sheath adds a lot of value. Even so, its way too much money, I wont buy it.

    As the resident N8V American in the group, this is not a tomahawk, it's a throwing toy and maybe a garden hoe. Why not give a Kubey KU184 a try, I'm interested to see if a D2 steel with kydex sheath and teklok for $48 on amazon is worth it.

    That would be good for midgets I imagine. :)
    There's far better options for way less money.
    I had a Vietnam style hawk that I gave away. It was pretty much useless for anything other than assaulting people with and again there's better options for that as well. Cold Steels spike hawk comes to mind and you could buy six of them for less than that baby hawk costs.
