Cinebench R23 graph is Cinebench R24. Sorry for the typo. Thanks for watching!
How can I change the refresh rate to 165mhz? The Nvidia control panel doesn't show any options to change this.
99Whr 16 inch laptop at 1.5kg? how did they pull this off
Magnesium
Noise
No gpu and not much material for cooling. After the battery usually the copper of the heatsink is the heaviest.
Tx Matt for your work
Would be cool if you paired the compilation time test (and maybe others) with battery drain in Whr, that would take care of adjusting for the size of the battery and would help compare what battery life will look like when doing work.
That's all well and good, but how does it handle Mine Sweep speed runs?
Another great review, thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Can you please review the new Lenovo ldeaPad Pro 5 laptops with the core ultra 7, I've been thinking about buying one but l'd like some advice from you. I'm especially worried about the keyboard compared to the competition.
Thank you!! I've been looking for a review on this laptop and there aren't many. I loved what they did with this laptop, but cheking the reviews on Best Buy... not so great. I guess it depends on what you get for this model. Regardless, thank you for the review!
Glad I could help!
should i wait for the Dell XPS for my uses ? ( Lightroom and adobe premiere )
So empty inside - if they left second fan it could be much more quiet. Wonder if it will be possible to transplant bigger cooling solution (m2 can be in the way)
Love having big displays in a portable computer but I think I would go for the Thinkpad P1 16".
Thank you for a super-helpful, real world evaluation of what looks like the portable to replace my 14 year-old Think Pad.
It’s a UK keyboard?
wouldve loved to see comparision against other cups from intel amd apple
NO DRAGON . . .NO DRAGON . . .NO DRAGON . . .
If it ain't dragon then it ain't MSI
Would you recommend the IPS, no-DGPU model for work, software development? At 1700 euros, there are alternatives like the Vivobook Pro OLED 16 Core Ultra 9, HP Spectre 16 / 32 GB IPS / OLED for 1600/1800, and Thinkpad T16 Gen 2 7840 with 780M, just need a reliable one with a good screen, keyboard, battery life and performant, nothing extreme of course.
Get a IdeaPad Pro 5i Gen 9 and save some money
isnt that pretty mediocre in terms of quality tho? I really want top-quality in build, screen and keyboard, and of course the internal design for cooling etc. so it lasts a while @@sampadkar19
HP spectre X360 16 2024 is insanely great.
Buy HP spectre X360 16 2024 if you want best overall package.
if you don't want to use an external monitor remember that oled have a lot of reflection and even in not so bright room they become difficult to use. imho the best is a mini led or a good ips antiglare.
lenovo yoga pro 9i
agree with you on this one. this is not a very powerful laptop but get every basic things right, especially if we are looking for big screen. the battery size is extremely amazing given the weight of laptop is only 1,5 kilo. only if i have money to afford this beauty 😅😅
R23 or R24?
I would go with the dedicated GPU model if:
1. the laptop can remain cool with the GPU and fairly light too.
2. if I can enable or disable the GPU (even if requiring a reboot) so I can choose when I game or work
3. (Optional) Linux support? As a developer, this is the holy grail xD
Otherwise, I love the CPU-only version as it is
why there's a trend to sell laptops without the possibility to update the ram? amazing latops but then you can't upgrade it to make it last as long as possible
6:15 ❤❤❤
60hz?
I haven't seen any core ultra 9 yet.
Been meaning to do a first impressions video of this laptop on my channel for a while now.. Procrastination is truly a b-word
That’s deep bro
14 hr that sounds pretty interesting.
been eyeing this in the last 2 days, but it was IPS, iGPU only here for 1700 euros and 60hz..
There are many great IntelCoreUltra laptops availible.
This unergonomic keyboard layout with a numpad is driving me crazy. no one except accountants use it and everything is shifted to the left
I'm not an accountant and I need the numpad
@@GeonQuuin then why do you need it? there is only one reason I could think of and that would be to plat civilazation
OK second time this is happening and I don't get it.
Scores of Cinebench R23. Is there a typo or did they change recently Cinebench R23 in how it scores? 100 points of single R23 is nothing, it's like celeron performance from 10 years ago.
Multicore not that much better.
It’s R24
@@MatthewMoniz Ah, never used it. So it is a typo. Thanks.
why are their two cutout for camera
One is infrared for facial recognition
As always great review Sir.
Am i dreaming? Just a new chip IntelCoreUltra and we got 3 times more BATTERY LIFE than 13th gen. Insane stuff.
Thatswhy i think Everyone is saying that IntelCoreUltra has MacBook 2023 level of BATTERY LIFE even though Intel is using Tiles/Chiplet.
Intel did it. Intel nailed this time. We always want great BATTERY LIFE from Intel and they provided and still FASTER video editing than any AMD Phoenix APU according to "hardware Canucks"
This year Arrow Lake, Core ULTRA series 2 is looking even more exciting for laptops.
Lunar Lake is also coming but it is very low power like 17 watt to 30 watt max.
Ya it’s a nice update!
@@MatthewMoniz 🤩🥳🥳
What are those Benchmark numbers and why there are only 155h CPUs?
Usually R23 numbers are in thousands....
Intel censorship ?
It's R24. Matthew probably simply forgot to change it after switching to the new version for benchmarking.
Goodness, I hate when the track pad isn’t right in the middle!
Same, it makes the laptop look so outdated. It almost pisses me off that Samsung doesn't get rid of their trackpads on their 16 inch laptops
I dont know why Qualcomm X Elite hasnt arrived
When it will come. So it have to compete against Arrow Lake and Lunar Lake and also AMD Strix point.
qualcomm said X Elite will appear mid year of 2024
They announced it last year because although they were far from ready (release Q3 2024), they knew that they had to do PR and marketing as Intel, AMD, and Apple will all be releasing better chips before the X Elite arrives.
@@andyH_England yes
SAMSUNG LPCAMM will come to high performance gaming laptop like Arrow Lake-HX just to provide massive efficiency and great BATTERY LIFE gains and provide better gaming and content creation.
I know most of us watched this video for the processors perfomance
Never have I ever met someone with an MSI laptop. Who’s buying these??
Edit: Ight.. tons of current i/o and opens one handed. But most importantly.. doesn’t have that stupid hump of battery sticking out back! Thank you!
I’d actually buy this if I needed a windows machine with aftermarket gpu for whatever. No one is playing AAA games on battery though, so they need to ditch those horrid massive batteries hanging off the ass end of gaming laptops.
0:52 You did not think this through when you said it. Hiding cables behind is nice…when you use a desktop. But for laptops which are meant to be mobile, I absolutely DO NOT want to deal with rotating the laptop, or even worse, stand up and walk around just to plug in or off cables or accessories. Having ports on the sides is the best option for accessibility and ergonomics.
Absolutely thought it through I want all cables away from me desktop or laptop. Laptop is small enough to just look behind. No need to walk around unless your a toddler
Damn, I'm early this time.
Definition of “thin” laptop must change. This one is obviously not a thin laptop because there are thinner laptops in market.
But there are thicker too....
WOAH FIRST!
Ips 60hz display 🤢
все бы ничего, НО глянцевый экран, и ужасные стрелки...
Keyboard is no good;
Another 16 inch laptop without upgradeable ram... yikes.
All meteor lake laptops will not have upgradable ram
@@MatthewMoniz I did not know that, what a shame.
@@rodrigoambriz8421 this year LPCAMM LPDDR5X will fix.
The current fastest consumer RAM is LPDDR5X which cannot be made modular. So, any RAM in the 14-Gen Intel machines (13-Gen+) will have slower RAM. Core Ultra gets the LPDDR5X and is superfast with low latency. Much more important than modularity. They all start at 16GB and 32GB options are available on many devices.
@@andyH_England 100% agreed and i always love to have FASTER and low latency RAM rather than modular.
But LPCAMM 7500mhz is coming very soon. Intel and SAMSUNG already confirmed. Others also confirmed LPCAMM
