What a great idea to make your porridge more flavorful. I feel so bad for all of you dealing with the super high energy bills. It's so hard to stay warm if your hands and feet get cold. Your meal looked so tasty. Great video.

On Thursday I made a pan of soup out of leftovers in my fridge, there was 2 short sticks of celery, some leftover leaves of lettuce, spinach a carrot and a parsnip and I used an onion, small potato, a stock cube dissolved in a pint of boiling water it looked like swam water but it was ever so tasty, very healthy and made 4 portions. I feel the cold around my ankles think I need some of your leg warmers. Stay warm Jill 😊

Just returned from the supermarket , where I found small pork loin roasts for 99 cents per pound ... bought a bunch of them and passed them off to friends and family on my way home ... I felt like Santa lol ! Once again , your meals look delicious ... never thought of putting chocolate in porridge ... good call Jill . Stay warm !

    Good morning Jill ❤️
I'm glad you are staying warm.
I am cold here in Florida. I wear 2 pairs of socks while my husband is comfortable with shorts and no shirt. I don't think my thin blood would survive in your cold. But, I'm sure you warmed up making your delicious meal 😋
    Take care
    ❤Peggy❤

Some really good money saving tips here, thank you. We buy cooking bacon as well, some pack have large pieces off cut gamon ,which are a real bargin and we freeze the extra packs. We make same bacon meal as you and l sprinkle over chopped parsley from garden as it grows all through the winter. l like to add parsley when ever l can to meals as it has higher vit C than oranges , so it's free vitamins from my garden to help prevent colds and flu.

I wear thick tights under my trousers/jeans...it doesnt matter if they are a bit tatty because no one can see them, but they keep me warm and are quick to dry. Today it was -7 when I got up and I am wearing a long sleeve T shirt, a long sleve woollen jumper, a thicker, chunky acrylic jumper and a shawl I crocheted. I wear two and sometimes 3 pairs of socks! The thing I struggle to keep warm is my nose!! LOL

I’m like you-I layer up in the house, I only put the heating on to take the chill out of the house. I must admit, the cosiest thing is my floor length fleecy dressing gown. It not glamorous, but it keeps me warm.

Goodness yes, I do tend to put off certain tasks for a ridiculous amount of time, especially mending! Yesterday I finally managed to motivate myself to repair a pair of jeans by settling in front of an episode of an old favourite series on YT and just getting on with it.

Thank you for all your videos. You are genuine and brilliant and give me inspiration to use what I have. I still don't know how you get some of the bargains you do though... best I've found is 48p for a pack of turkey mince.

😂 you are starting to remind me of Nanna. She cut jumper sleeves off. They were everywhere, leggings, arms and on the dog! I'm going through hell at the moment still trying to help those disabled people. It's been relentless for 2 years. But I am sitting here looking at the snow ❄️ whilst sucking a cold mango and spraying myself with a water bottle of water with a pump in front of the fan which is blowing cold air up my lower parts. It is indeed a change from blowing hot air out of my lower part! 😂 I am hoping for a breakthrough on Monday with the full moon in Cancer. It is always interesting to see you doing stuff. I got some Celtic sea salt to sprinkle in water to boost Magnesium so it relaxes the heart ❤️ muscles and I don't die of a heart attack dealing with this government crap. It may be a good idea to add Epsom salt to the salt bags, although I am sure that the weed has some in it. Salt is my new fad Jill. Celtic salt is all the way from France! I have the Himalayan also. And I am adding ground cloves to detox the cortisol and that may be great for your porridge. Apparently it helps with worms too, so may assist in dealing with these rotten politicians 😂😂 Eventually, the worms go in and the worms go out and win when we die. Much like Parliament wouldn't you say? 😂😂 Belinda

That pot of mainly veggies is my kind of meal. Looks like the pot roast I'll be making on Sunday.😋 Sorry you have to deal with the cold. I could turn on our heat but I don't because heating wrecks my sinuses and gives me nose bleads, and I don't want the heat reducing the shelf-life of our substantial food storage. Turning on the oven in the morning takes the nip out of the air.👍 Go somewhere warm and have a nice weekend.🤗🌸

Leggings are ok but thermal long johns are way better. And a thermal long sleeved t shirt as a first layer.
We lose most our heat out of our heads, so it may look silly but a woolly beanie also helps a lot.
