First time i experience the haka was my ex boyfriends dad doing it infront of me as a punishment for his son being mean... ever since every few months i fall into a rabbit hole of haka videos.

Real warrior men honoring another warrior man. Thank you for your service Elder... I hope this finds you firm in the faith and holding fast to the rod. There is nothing more attractive and peace yeilding than a man who loves God.
It is an honor and respect for the loves who have died and those who return to their homeland as the indigenous people of their country. I cry each time I see this and I'm a black woman.
I’m literally Colombian and have zero connection to this culture at all, but the haka is literally my favorite and brings me to tears every single time..

What a powerful tradition! I understand people doing Haka may be from just about any religion or no religion and same with race. I saw one with Prince Harry participating. Be nice to get one started in US.
IN the U.S no-one retains traditional values..becuase THATs why america was born..to SHED traditional values for FREEDOMS lol freedoms ( sarcasm )...This leaves generations later a nation BEREFT of character and knowledge.
Haka is the name of the dance by NZ, others like Samoans, Tongans, Cook Islands and other Polynesian counties and a few Melanesian have a form of war dance as well
I love HAKA but i don't understand why do they performed of it? But i think that haka would have a deep connection to their culture. So it gave me a great inspirations. Long live haka and its people
This particular Haka is being done to welcome home Elder Cameron home from serving a mission for the Mormon church. But the Haka itself is basically about welcoming home a boy who became a man. Polynesians are the second largest group who are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (aka Mormon Church).
As a polonysian islander girl , haka is a war dance which is to intimidate your enemy , but this is kapa haka , which is a calmer version , I think kapa haka is just for happy times like welcoming or farewell or wedding , but it can also be a sad one like for funeral , it's different ... but just know we do that to show respect and love for our fam , and to intimidate our opponents 😂
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.” Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.” And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

I appreciate the masculinity and emotions of the performers. I'm just apprehensive whether haka is a pagan ritual or not!
Again ?
This is for culture and for special occasion like when I get moko kauwei , it's special so they do it as a sighn of support or respect
the girl who was holding the camera that screamed was unnecessary. so loud it nearly broke my eardrum xD
No it's ok , we are islanders so we shout to hype them up , it can be Loud so us kids block our ears 😂 , but yes we do that all the time
Interessante
Lindo
0:30 sounds like a screaming banshee.
I get that the lady is supporting the men but please for the sake of people's hearing stop screaming while holding the camera.
