This circuit is clever, but unstable.
The 555 timer switches its output on pin 3 to VCC when the "threshold" voltage goes over 2/3rds of VCC and switches the output to GND when the voltage goes below 1/3rd of VCC.
The circuit uses the stray capacitance of the wires, pins and breadboard. Touching one set of contacts puts the tiny resistance of your skin between VCC and the capacitor, instantly charging it to almost full voltage since it's such a tiny capacitance. This turns the 555 circuit on.
Touching the other set of contacts discharges that tiny amount of capacitance through your skin, turning the 555 circuit off.
One LED is connected from VCC to pin 3 and the other is connected from GND to pin 3. When pin 3 is low (GND), current flows from VCC through one LED and to pin 3. When pin 3 is high (VCC), current flows from pin 3 through the other LED to GND. The resistor helps prevent both LEDs from lighting at the same time and also limits current flow through the LEDs.
This circuit is unstable because it relies on the tiny stray capacitance of the circuit connections rather than having its own capacitor. This stray capacitance is so small that any nearby magnetic field could easily cause the capacitor to be either charged or discharged, making the circuit operate randomly.
It's a fun circuit and it works okay on a breadboard, but it's impractical to try to use this circuit in any situation where reliable operation of the circuit is required.
My first project on bread board successful with help of you
+Deepak Prajapati Awesome! :)
Deepak Prajapati.
Send me project report of this one
i also want the report of this project
Thank you bro 😊
Just bcz of u I can complete my project but using 330 I use another resistor but still my project was done😊😊thanks
150ohm works?
how you get this 4 pins
It worked for me. I tried to use photo resistors(it didn't work) at first but I am unfamiliar with the components I need to use them. I replace them with the touch rails, and worked like a charm. I'm trying to set up a sensor triggered timer for slot car racing. Thanks
Dear need your kind help. After switch is ON by touching the pins, how long will it stay ON unless pins are touched again. I am working with a project where the bulb will remain ON unless the pins are touched again. Since it is a timer IC, so i guess will it auto turn off the LEDs after certain time? Please advice
Are these normal pins? What is the mechanism behind the switching of led.?
Hi... what should I use if I want the light to be on, only when I'm touching the contacts? Thanks!
instead of touch plates what can we use? please reply me .
Hello, I am trying this circuit and I have a doubt....does the attachment of pins affect the circuit or should it work without pins attached....?
Tq so much fr Posting this....it helped a lot for our poly students
Tqqqqqqqqqqqqqq so much bro meeru chesindhi memu chesam successfully completed 💕💕💓💞💗
330Ω register lena compulsory he kya sir ....or bhi ke sakte he hum
if we want to make this circuit using a single plate touch sensor...then what circuit will be??
this is my first project using breadboard
And it works successfull with help of you
thank u very much for your video
You're welcome! 😊
What volt leds did u use
ek baat Pouchni thi is mini project mein LED kn see lagai hy?

Can you tell me the purpose of this project and what are the uses of the project
Instead of breadboard it will work on pbc board?
Konse type ke wires
sir is this 2v led
pls if any one know , rply me guys
can i use the same steps and use one LED so it would only light on and off?
I think it was a very good circuit and helped my understanding of the ic 555
I guess Im kinda randomly asking but do anyone know a good site to watch new series online ?
Thanks
It's working and help us do project
✌️👌😄
You're welcome!😊
What is this applications? Where we use this project?
hello very well done can i know how this works i mean whats the logic behind it i mean there is no touch sensor so how the comparator inside the ic compares
Can i use this in my first year's project???
Yes
Would you tell me why it is working while touching touch plate
First bulb you put it's gone after 5-6 blinking why anyone tell please please reply sir😢
Hi
Plz send me working principle of this project or what is the use of this project
Please can you tell me... from where did you get this idea
How many price of 555 timer ic
please someone explain t me what is the theory behind in this invention.. how does IC
functioning in this circuit? how does touchplate functioning when i touch the copper wire or pin ? what is the behavior of the current ?
If you're still around (1 year later), I posted an explanation based on my knowledge of how the 555 timer works.
what can i use as a touch plate other than pin? does any other conductors work equally?
Yes! You can remove the insulation of wires and use as a touch plate..
@@TroyAraujo alright tq.

The most common electronic components used are :- Breadboard, 9v battery with battery clip, BC547 transistor, different types of resistors (1k, 100k, 330 ohm), LDR, LED, PIR motion sensor, infrared emitter and receiver, buzzer, jump wires for connecting, 555 timer ic, reed switch, etc.
Sir this project is related to power electronics or not?
Excellent perfectly working 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
For me not working 😕 pls explain bro
Hi Troy, I am looking for an electronic/electrical engineer that I can partner with. One who can build some devices.
Do you know one you can recommend?
What resistor wattage (1/4, 1/2, 1, or 2) is probably best for 15V applications using a breadboard for HO Scale LED lighting projects? Is it safer to go higher on the watts even though 1/4 watt seems to be the most prominent size sold in large packages. Thanks!
Can I get complete document of this project I mean abstract, block diagram with conclusion
what is the logic gates of this touch sensor circuit?
When i connected battery second led light is directly getting on when i touch sensors which i placed 6 and 8 then first led getting on but second is always on only pls help me , i did connects as you showed exactly😭
How do i use a stop watch along with this circuit, which would run automatically when 1 led turns on and stops when the other led turns on?
My one led is on and second is switching please give me solutions
Will it work if it talks about sounds instead of light?
Hello, is it possible to replace the touch pins with a magnet?
Hello bro i hav made this bt its not working
Hello can i have a diagram of this proj not the one that been show in the vid plsss i need to pass it tomorrow
How 555 timer acts as in this case i.e as which vibrator?
Man i have a problem. The 2nd light is not turning on

Any no. on ic ?
NE555N
or project ki total cost kitni pdegi... any idea ?
Which types of pins are used
Could you please send me the circuit diagram and details of every part of circuit how exactly it works?
Bro for me it was glowing only one light another when we connect the resistor the second was not working
Hi brother!!can i ask you some questions
1. Is this 8mm LED ?? Or we can use any LED to connect ??
2. We can use wires instead of that nails??
3. Can i get touch plates in the form of nails or its just a nail for the Touch sensor ?
Hi.
1. No, it's a 10mm LED
2. Yes you can use wires or nails. Anything will do.
3. You need 2 nails for 1 touch plate. (So 4 nails for 2 touch plates)
Hope you found this useful. Good luck :)
What is the exact fact behind these switching of led
where can i get the circuit diagram for this circuit
Good it is working
What kind of pins must be used ? Can it be ordinary pins ?
Metal pins
@@TroyAraujocan I buy it at a local electronics store ?
Yes. You can even get the pins from a stationery shop...
You showed the circuit diagram wrong .
Very Helpful Video... Could you please provide any link or any material regarding the working of this?? What is happening internally in the IC as the other plates are touched ??
Would be highly grateful if you provided the project report as well
I've made this but both of my bulbs lit us insted of one and the touch plates arnt working 😢
can u tell the working according to the output
Tq so much ,my teacher told good tq
Aapki ic konse number ki hai . Please tell me . Its urgent
Sir can you please explain the working of this circuit please 🙏
Please can you send me a circuit diagram of censor touch project
Its.good but what is the use..nd where it will be useful to us
y u use pins .y not connecting wires or buzzer in touch senor using 555 timer
Thanks bro if it's work so I complet my mini project
One LED always glow but second led glow only touch after just 3 second
Nagendra Chauhan
What voltage for sources
Thank u so much for ur guidance it's really works .... Once again thank you so much
You're welcome! 😊
Can I use IC NE555P or NE555N???
Tqsm bro it's working 🎉🥳
its not properly working its automatically change from green LED to Blue LED
How to vidio this project by phone stand please reply
Will 220 ohm work
if the second led is not going to glow why is it used??
2nd LED is not working
how the blue light is glowing at the starting of the experiment without touching the plates???????
clarify this to me
It's a "change-over" circuit so one or the other LED will always be lit. If you wanted an "on-off" circuit, you may be able to remove one LED.
Success bro 🥰 we did it
can i do this in a pcb?
do u have the mealy/moore diagram? and the kmap?
What is the resistance of the resistor?
330 ohm resistor
Thank u😀😊
Can you tell me the applications of this circuit
Can you please help in drawing it's PCB layout?...
It will be great help if you could provide that .... thank you in advance
Bro I have doubt .. where to connect the buzzer
Supr bro iam also done this project
What is cost of this project
We have to use 2 leds same colour or diff.
Working but touch plate should be connected to pin 1 AND PIN 2
AND NOT PIN 3
can you please upload synopsis of this mini project.....
thank you.... my project on breadboard is successful ....
thank you sir
Very nice. How to connect 7 to 10 LEDs to stay on toll touch to off
How to implement this ckt on the zero pcb
Can we use push button instead of two pins
How dose the ic 555 works after the touch
Bro, Is it working if I use wire instead of touch plate🤔
Yes. Wire will do. Just make sure you remove the insulation of the wire completely....
Your define methode is 100 good.i like it 100 much
