Hey, as you know, I’m planning on getting back on sound editing. Since JW: Dominion is coming out soon, I’m starting on reading the original novels by Michael Crichton.
I want to ask you for some suggestions for sounds for the juvenile tyrannosaurus from the first novel. I have found some screechy vocals from howler monkeys and a hawk, is there any other animals that would be in use? ~ Ryan S.

Hello! I'm glad we'll have you back! You're one of the reasons my channel exists after all. I have to give you credit for my start!
I'm honored you're asking me that! I think it depends on the visual design, how you see them like. Like 1980-90's dinosaur reconstructions that are likely what Crichton imagened or classic Jurassic style from the movies or you take the next step and make them accurate to modern reconstructions? If they're like the first older versions, it will probably sound deep, "mammalian" and smooth but if they are modern, it's obvious they'll be sounding a lot more bird-like.
If we think about that rex, we can say she's quite curious, playful but very dangerous and sneaky at the same time. So I think her vocals besides the need to sound unique should resonate those emotions to make her interesting. She's a lot like the Dilo from the movie. I'd recommend use something purring, gurgly and chirpy like tiger's chuffing (if I spelled it right XD). So for the base amount of sounds it'd be interesting to use sounds that you're not sure if they're dangerous or just harsh-sounding like the baby Stegosaurus from The Lost World or the Bandersnatch from Alice in Wonderland.
As for sources, some seabirds like petrel make really impressive deep and hoarse calls. They have these "rising" quality that makes you think the animal is interested. Camels make a variety of awesome, wierd and really expressive sounds, from terrifying to funny af.
Howler monkeys and a hawk are both a great choice!
High-pitched screams from owls like barn owls when they're irritated can really make somebody shiver with fear if you slow them down.
Some deep guttural growling if needed can be delivered from crocs and seals.
In my opinion elephants is a very underrated cheat section and pigs is an highly overused cheat section. So I highly recommend to use elephants vocals that are not just trumpeting)
I also recommed to use breaths like horses, seals and whales snorts, they really add life to creatures.
      I hope it will help)

@@MrSserpent First of all, thank you so much for saying that your channel is made because of me. Second of all, hopefully these will come in handy so that I can test them later.
I’ve looked on several depictions by several artists: SpinoJP, Hellraptor, Christopher Lenin, Mr. Troodon, and Colin (AKA Wannabe Paleontologist.) I wanted to create something more original, instead of taking the adult roars and pitching them up.
I know that the baby rex from The Lost World: JP movie has used camel sounds before. I just wanted to make sounds for its older, teenage stage.
For real life references, young T. rexes do have a very different niche in comparison with the bulkier adults that rely on ambush. So it doesn’t hurt to get more creative.
Hopefully, I’ll see how they’ll turn out in the future. Thank you once again. ~ Ryan S.

@@ryansmith-sounddesigner7831 Thank you again for relying on me!
Well they used a Baby camel sounds for the baby rex in The Lost World so it can be assumed you may use some of the more grown-up camel vocals)
It's my pleasure! Thank you for this wonderful question! I'm excited to see how's that gonna turn out in your masterful hands!
You're welcome! Good luck to you and God bless you!
