    Worst part about methylfolate is that people and advisers dont know anything about it, they just wrote that mthfr is needed for synthesis of methylfolate and they are teaching everyone that if you have mthfr then you need to suplement this nutrient. I really encourage to look at study that showed that 3mg of riboflavin lowered homocysteine by 40% in people with mthfr and this is really key nutrient for those people not methylfolate. Methlfolate is methylated god knows how many times everyday and dose that you get from suplement will be transformed into thf in like 1-2 hours after taking and then it isnt different than folic acid that is demonized. In the end i want to write that b2 is key nutrient because it speeds up mthfr and if you got polimorfism then your enzyme need more b2 and even more facinating is fact that such low dose as 3mg will be enough. If you dont notice any improvement in blood homocysteine or your mood then mthfr isnt your problem and you need to dig more into your biochemistry.

      Hi thanks for sharing. I agree riboflavin is very important. It seems for some more and others less. It makes sense that it would or could lower homocysteine but clinically I do not see it work that way (even at much much larger doses than what you noted). Thanks again for your comments and contribution.

    Hi Dr, i have Cystinuria and suffer from fatigue and poor sleep. A recent blood test showed high B12 and very high folate. My doctor wasn't concerned and implied i was supplementing, which I am not. Given that Cystinuria ìs a defect in the reuptake of the COLA amino acids from Methionine, do you think it's possible my folate pathway is also impaired leading to high unrecycled folate levels please?

    I have the MTHFR mutation. Both my wellness Dr. and my Coach ( I’m a serious weight lifter) recommended supplementing with Optimized Folate. But all my digestive issues (constant diarrhea) points to an intolerance of this supplement. Is that a thing? If so this side effect must be rare as both my Dr and coach are skeptical.

      @@swintegrativeThank you for responding. I just watched many of your videos. Very informative. You don’t mention diarrhea specifically but that SIBO (which I probably had) can occur while taking optimized folate. So I’ll be sharing your information with my doctor and coach. I’m much better since I stopped supplementing the optimized folate but it took a lot of time and experimentation.

    When I take vit b12 supplements they build up and my blood tests start showing extremely high (over 1000) vb12 levels. All my family have anemia, Is this indication of gene mutation dyou think?

    • @swintegrative

      Yes both (high b12 and anemia) could be. Anemia if you have large red blood cells. You might want to check out my new book on B12 as I go into a lot of detail on this topic. amzn.to/3jVGvZf

    what symptoms are we to have, or what are we to be suffering from, to know we need this cream?

    • @swintegrative
      @swintegrative  10 месяцев назад +3

      Yes it is possible but less likely. It is dose dependent. Best approach is to start low and go slow or find a doctor that can help you navigate it. U can also check out my course on MTHFR

      You could take Folinic Acid (not the same as folic acid) which is bioavailable & can be used by the cells straight away, it doesn't have the anxiety inducing effects that some people with other polymorphisms experience.

    Dr if you have 1 alteration from the mtfhr gene but also you have hemochromatosis from another defective gene as well. Can you still take methyfolate? I suffer from fibromyalgia, neuropathy, all kind of digestive issues, anxiety and depression. I was told to take this supplement but I'm afraid for my iron levels. Thank you for your video.

    • @swintegrative
      @swintegrative  3 года назад

      Hi Paulo, it is really hard to say as it is going to depend on a few variables. I will say that just having hemochromatosis does not mean you can't take methylfolate. One would have to look at your whole system to know, though.

    OK so I was watching/listening to bearKy and must not have been listening because I thought methyl folate was beneficial for everyone since we all need folate, and there is no natural folate in the world anymore since 1993 or whatever he said so if we start taking him before we know whether or not we have“the Jean” do we have to worry about negative side effects?
