I air-fried a beef pot pie. Left it in the paper bowl and it came out perfect. Sprinkled some salt and pepper on top then chowed down on the pie. Way better than using the microwave.
@@MelanieCooksRecipes paper should be good below 425. Just remember he book - Fahrenheit 451. that's the temp where wood and paper will begin to burn, so keeping it at 400 or below gives you a big safety margin. Also, Parchment paper manufacturers have recommended not going above 425 for decades, so if it's safe for parchment paper, should be safe for these as well.
We had frozen chicken pot pie tonight for dinner along with onion roasted red potatoes, and broccoli. I had the Banquet brand and I cooked mine at 380 for 23 minutes. I did wrap the edge in foil for the first 13 minutes so as not to overcook it. I will say they have a paper pan too but I didn't remove it and it worked out just fine. The paper pans they come are oven proof so it stands to reason that they should be fine in an air fryer.
I was thinking the very same thing, because we normally put ours right into the regular oven, bowl and all (per the instructions). Thanks for confirming!
Melody anytime that I need advice with my air fryer I always ask for you or look for you. In case you get right to the point you simplify it and you don't try to make it like a gourmet and you have to sit through 5 minutes of how they want to do it the fancy it up good Happy Thanksgiving I'm glad you're out here. I'm happy to be a part of your team.
My mom bought an air fryer recently and I just bought some chicken pot pie from the store I’m making this comment while walking back to my crib. Just felt like a good idea.
This is way better than heating up an oven.I put a tinfoil(old guy still says tinfoil)!! sling under the potpie.Made it easy to lift out.Melanie rocks!!
I cooked them in the air fryer But I always took them out of paper dish This time I will leave them in the paper and see how it goes I hope the bottom crust gets done🙏 😄
I just found an air fryer recipe for scalloped potatoes off RUclips! It is from fork to spoon and was posted about 25 minutes ago. They recommend to follow the directions for the ingredients and mix it all in a large bowl and then place that mixture in an air fryer safe pan and to cook on 330° for 20 minutes and to check at 15 minutes. They look pretty good and I suppose if you would like the sauce thicker you can cut back on the boiling water or cook them at a higher temperature for a little bit longer. I'm going to play with it I only have this one double box but that gives me two tries! I don't usually purchase these but this loaded one looked pretty good and it looked like I could add some ham cubes and make a meal and some peas and carrots. :-)
Thank you just what I was looking for because we're having the turkey one with mashed potatoes gravy a veggie there's our Thanksgiving bless you and your family see you soon
It worked perfectly just like you said. I put it in the air fryer at 360 for 20 minutes with the paper bin removed and in came out golden brown on the outside and piping hot on the inside; as this was for my grandson, I chopped it up and put in the freezer for 1 minute. Thanks for this video😁
This was a bit of a fail for me. The top crust turned out perfect, but the sides and bottom were completely mushy and uncooked after 20 minutes at 360 degrees. Added more time but ended up burning the top. Any advice? I have a Gowise air fryer.
Or, 3 minutes in the microwave, while the air fryer is pre heating, then 15 minutes at 360. You may need to experiment with te p and time to get it to your liking.
I put my pot pie in the fridge accidentally when I was putting groceries away what would a appropriate cook time be for non frozen Thank You I enjoy you Videos and recipes and Appreciate the time you and your dad put in them

Hi melanie! I am looking for a way to make boxed scalloped potatoes in the air fryer using my cake pan which is an inch smaller than me air fryer and three inches tall so it's 7x3 and round. I have a box of loaded scalloped potatoes and I've seen people make them from scratch but I'm trying to find out how to make them from the box. If anyone has done that please let me know how? I am disabled with no caregiver at the moment so I need to cook for myself and I would like to make those with little ham cubes in it. I can't find any recipe on RUclips. Thank you!!
@@MelanieCooksRecipes I figured out how to do it! You just mix all of the ingredients in a bowl. Then pour the mixture into a pan that will fit in the air fryer and I think I cooked it on 350 for 20 minutes? Anyway that's the basics of how to do it and they came out really nice! :-)
Oh no! I’m so sorry it burned 😅🔥 but I love your determination to give it another go! You’ve got this! I recommend reducing the temperature by 20F. You might need to increase the cooking time though if it's still cold in the middle. Let me know how it goes, and if you need any tips, I’m here to help! 💪👨🍳
Every time I wonder if it’s possible to cook a certain frozen food in the airfryer; I look it up and you always have a video on it! Thanks!

Awesome! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Good to know that the paper bowl was fine, I was afraid it will catch on fire :)
I'm about to try it. The bowl was what I was worried about. Thanks

No more cooking this in the oven for ME! Thank you again, Melanie for showing me how to do it in the air fryer.

Try 30 min at 300F. If that doesn’t work, then try the original 20 min at 360F but flip the pot pie after 10 min

What size air fryer do I need to cook a Cornish hen???

i was hoping you did a Pot Pie video , now i, gonna try it , do you have a pizza roll video

I love pot pies! Hot pot pie filling will burn the hell out of your mouth...
Lol yeah have to be careful with that filling! 🤣😋
My air fryer ends on 200 degrees not 360 i was just wondering what should put
Your air fryer must be in Celcius, my temperatures are in Fahrenheit. You can use this page to convert: www.metric-conversions.org/temperature/fahrenheit-to-celsius.htm
Why do I have to put it into a pan, and not just into the basket?
I tried making it without a pan before, and the filling of the pot pie leaked through the holes of the basket
What about the side and bottom crust? didn't show it.

Me as soon as you said don’t put the paper in the air fryer running to take it out🤣🏃♀️
Lol 🤣
Did you air fry it or bake it on 360 for 20??
Air fry
😂😅😂
@@CarmaTheOg You're stupid for laughing. Not everyone's air fryer has JUST air fry. Mine also has bake too.
Did the bottom get cooked
Can you do it without the pan?
If you don’t have the pan, put a piece of aluminum foil under the pot pie, otherwise the filling might leak out through the basket holes
@@MelanieCooksRecipes thank you!
Did mine at 360 for 25 min and still not done
Sorry that didn't work for you. Air fryers differ, mine must run hotter than yours. Try increasing the temp to 380F.
@@MelanieCooksRecipes it's weird. Pot pie wasn't quite done but used your time from the biscuit video and came out a Lil to brown. Lol

TLDW: put the pie in the air fryer until cooked
Plenty of people want to know exactly how to cook it in air fryer!
I cooked mine to your specs and it wasn’t done. Total time to get it to 165 degrees was 62 minutes. Horrible pot pie.
Sorry it didn't work for you. Air fryers differ, mine must run much hotter that yours. Try cooking it at maximum temperature.
browned? that isnt even cooked. no colring on top and no steam when u cut into it. that sucker is still raw
It’s browned, look at the top crust it’s golden-brown
That is not hot inside
Mine was hot. If yours isn’t hot, just put it back in the air fryer and cook for another 5 min
