    I made my first one last year and it has missing loops but even with them I love it. I think I got confused with mine because I was flipping the work. I like your first method of moving the yarn. That's much easier to keep track of. I'm starting my second one today. Thanks for the tutorial.

    I got a skein of this for my daughter, who loves soft and fuzzy, and made her a scarf from it. It absolutely is soft and fuzzy and squishy and gorgeous. She loves it, and wanted to wear it to school the next day--when it was 75 degrees. Not really scarf weather. :)
    My only criticism of the yarn is that the thing you make just doesn't have the stretch that a properly knitted item would have. That string that runs throughout to hold the loops together doesn't have any give to it. As long as you don't try to stretch the piece, you'll never notice that string, and it will be nothing but lovely, squishy fuzziness. And yes, the price. I got mine for $9.99, but that can be cost prohibitive for a larger project.

    Thanks for your demonstration. I agree that kids would enjoy using this yarn. Also, I think elderly people in retirement or nursing homes would love it and it would be good exercise to keep their fingers and hands flexible. It is pretty expensive though.

    I absolutely love 💖this! So easy to do and the way you explained it 👼just makes it even easier. I watched a lot of your videos📼 and the way you explain things💡 is to where people like me that can't understand things😵 easily, really understand it! I'm the type of person that has to be Hands-On👏 in order to understand it. You are my hands on👏 That's how easy you make it!! Looking forward to more videos! And until then Happy looping!!🙌

    So I was checking this yarn out last night. After watching your video, I zoomed down to Joann’s and my yarn stash just exploded!
    I don’t want to make sound like a drudgery...I found a SMALL learning curve. Getting your yarn right, having a lie flat and so forth. It’s not a difficult curve...think of it as just learning something new and give yourself time and a big break. Go slow. And please don’t get frustrated. Once you get around the bend, I promise it gets WAY EASIER!
    Thank you so much for showing this yarn. How to loop it so I can make kids blankets.

I am using stitch markers at beginning and end of the row since it is all one color. Thank you for the help and review!

    I got some of this in the red and cream. I bought eight, so that I can make that cross stitch blanket.
    It wasn't cheap but it will be fabulous.
    I got it on sale plus a small coupon.
    P.s. The number above the bar code (on this skein), is the dye lot.
    Yarnspirations yarns usually have dye lots that start with the year, just like on your skein.

    I have made 4 baby blankets from this loop yarn. Its awesome to work with and the baby blankets turn out gorgeous. Before I gift them I place them in a large lingerie bag and zip it closed. Then I place it in the washing machine on delicate cycle using cool water. Make there is nothiingelse in the wash but your one blanket. Once it's done washing I remove from washer and place in dryer on low. It comes out amazing. I do this with every blanket and scarf I make with this yarn.

    Thanks for your honest review. I became a fan of this yarn a month ago. Agree that the price is high, here in the Long Beach, CA the cost is $12.99. Take advantage of sales and coupons. Bernat Loop Yarn has more yardage than Off The Hook...not sure of Red Heart (brand loop yarn not found in this area).

    I find it helpful to put a safety pin in the first loop in each row on each side, especially in a big blanket. Sometimes the edge loops like to hide, and the safety pin ensures that you won't miss a loop. I just move the pins as I go.

    • @FiberSpider
      @FiberSpider  5 лет назад

      If you have knit stitches on one side and purl bumps on the other, then you have the stockinette stitch - and the nature of the beast with that stitch is that it always curls a bit at the edges. If however you knit on both sides you end up with the garter stitch - which is bumpy on both sides but will not curl.

    • @FiberSpider

      Fiber Spider? Curious as what size your recommended 6 skein / 60 loop row start ended up being? It lays on your bed nice but didn't share the size of your bed! So pls share the length x width. The multi-grey blanket IS the result of the direction you've shared in this tutorial yes? All done (in essance 😳) in stockinette? Betcha can"t tell ....

  • @wandalee6502

    You should’ve had it in your directions about mistakes missing a loop, you Gotta make sure you don’t make a fourth row in the middle of the third row by using an extra loop. I had to take it apart, but it wasn’t bad. Also, I am 65
    With metastatic cancer and a very bad tremor in my hands so I had to use a 11 mm to pool pool but it works.

    • @stinkygraykitty6808
      @stinkygraykitty6808 5 лет назад

      @Rebecca Staats the yarn stays together great! Yes the washing....I read that you can wash gentle cycle (gasp) but have not seen how to dry. I think it would be a good idea to get some warm water with a bit of soap in the bath tub, let it soak and sort of swish it around. Drain the tub and rinse a little, I would leave the blanket or whatever just draining in the tub maybe overnight? I would lay out an old sheet or something large in the sun and dry the blanket on that. The yarn is nice and I have used a few brands with no complaints....but the washing scares me! Let me know what you have found out.

    Recently made a trip to Michaels here, to get the new caron cake latte that you reviewed, and I love it... totally amazing stuff! While I was there, I discovered the new Loop it, by the loops n threads line, which is a lot more affordable than the bernat elize yarn. The colorways in the loop it, are amazing.. and due to pricing, I went with the loop it stuff...plus, I had a coupon... PLUS, it was on sale! Definite win there. I'm not a big fan of the chenille yarns here, especially so, if it will need a lot of washing. Made a baby afghan in it, and on the 2nd wash, it broke and came apart in the wash... no agitator... no spinning... just a gentle wash. To say the least, I was devastated here... anyhow... I tend to ramble on... Check out the loop it, I think you'll like it. Thanks for doing this review, you rock as always!
