Love your tutorials. This is so simple but so effective. It’s currently a grey, chilly, rainy day in London. Just perfect for staying indoors in the warm and dry, crocheting. Am currently working on the Seaside Shawl. 👍😊
Absolutely stunning. I really like the look of this. Very unique. Thanks so much for sharing with us. It's so appreciated, and your love for the craft really shows!!
Been making many scarves for the charity, got lots of stash left. what a perfect way to use them up to make myself a shawl. I love this. thank you so much.
I really love how you make your videos so easy to follow along with. You are always so upbeat and you explain what the intent is behind the chaining and the spaces. I have watched several of your videos and made so many fun things, thanks to you. Keep 'em coming!
Sigh, I just adore you so much! You have such a calm and detailed way of teaching, and that seems very rare these days! Your voice is soothing and you always seem to make me feel as though I'm being taught by a close friend! Love the work you do and all the content you create, keep it up!! I cannot wait to give this one a try!
So beautiful and simple!! Thanks to you, I've mastered the granny square! Thank you for all you do. Not sure how you manage to give us so much of your time but it's greatly appreciated sir. 💖
Just happened upon your channel as I’m addicted to crocheting😂. You are an awesome teacher!! Love listening to you... count me in👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 never understood the triangle but now I do! Thank you❤️
Love it so much! I have a Granny Square Shawl started in variegated yarn, red, white, and green. Just last week I ordered yarn in those colors and though I would (possibly) make stripes of the different colors. I just happened to come across this this and you convinced me it is not a strange idea. But I like your way better than my idea.AND you are using my favorite colors! Thank you for showing me this, I was getting bored but now that I think of all the color combinations - WOW!
This is a great tutorial. You turned a basic granny shawl into an elegant piece. Your instructions are clear & easy to follow. Thank you for such a fun project. 👍
I really enjoy watching you tutorials. You explain things so well. I’ve started knitting & crocheting as a way to relax & improve my mental health. Your voice is also very calming. Thank you
Decided to do this and I have really enjoyed learning the new patterns especially with Granny square that one of the first things I learned to crochet your videos make it so easy to learn
Oh my gosh! I have no idea who you are....but I am so thrilled that I have found your channel. For YEARS I have been trying to 'understand' how to crochet. I can knit no problem. But for some reason, crochet has confused the heck out of me. I am only half way through this tutorial and all of a sudden this has clicked for me. You are such a great instructor! Your voice is wonderful....and I totally enjoy listening to you talk and walk us through this. I cannot wait to go grab some yarn and try to do this. Thank you so much for taking the time to teach this. I will be pouring over all of your videos now! Thank you again.
I love this technique! I am also a big fan of Log Cabin Quilts. This concept would work well as a Log Cabin Crocheted Afghan! Thanks for the idea! *After reading the other comments, I see I wasn't the only one with the same idea! Come on, Spider! Give us a lapghan or Afghan tutorial! You have a "web of intrigue"!
The way the colors but up together reminds me of a log cabin quilt. I can also see this as a poncho. Make 2 and seam the sides and top leaving openings for arms and head. Very nice tutorial. I always learn something new when I click on your videos.
I just made this it is gorgeous works up very quick and you can go crazy with color schemes ! Thankyou fiber spider ! Was hoping someday u can make this into a lapghan
Cool concept thanks for sharing, after I learned how to make a granny square I made an Afghan the same way, I made a long chain and used different shades of green.
Fantastic, we are going into summer here is South Africa, so no need for a shawl but will keep this for next winter. I would love to turn this into a bathroom mat using t shirt yarn
Hi I just started following you, your are tutorials are excellent I love the granny square stitch going to try to make those shawls, you are very creative. Thank you so much!!!
Hello Fiber Spider! I was planning to take a break from crocheting to get a few things done but that idea went "out the window" when I saw this shawl! I'm heading down to my local craft and fabric store -Pound of Love is on sale! Can't resist this pattern.
Hi Fiber Spider. I just love this design! The granny square is the first design my grandma taught me, way back in the 70's. Grandma hated to be called granny though. One time I thought she was going to yank a friends ears off for calling her granny. Lol! Anyway, I'm totally going to do this! I've been trying to think of something quick and easy so I can knock out a few presents for Christmas for my mom and sisters. This is a great idea and simple to do. Kind of makes me wonder why I didn't think of it. Thanks for sharing your design.
My very first shawl. I love ur way. Appreciate. I bought my very first yarn at Michael store a big cake it's called a variety of colors working together in perfect harmony of maroon blues oops greens and yellow. It should b called a pop cake lol
This is really nice ... thanks !!! Where are you with the beautiful fall weather. I am in Texas. It's still pretty hot during the day but our mornings and evenings are kinda cool now. I love, love, love the granny square stitch as well. I just made a blanket for my niece and a yoga mat for myself. Most of the yarn was stash. My stash is just about busted now. It's a great feeling because I have become a minimalist and having too much of anything is ... well ... to much. But yarn will always be an exception ... LOL !!!
I didn't do so good somewhere along the line that got lost now I'm going to have to take it apart and start all over again but it does look pretty I do like the Style off it . so I'm going to keep on trying .
Also thank you for your time and sense of humor, your voice is very calming to listen to.
Love your tutorials. This is so simple but so effective. It’s currently a grey, chilly, rainy day in London. Just perfect for staying indoors in the warm and dry, crocheting. Am currently working on the Seaside Shawl. 👍😊

You've won first prize with this one! It's very reminiscent of a "log cabin" pattern. And yes, I am on the "please make a lapghan" bandwagon as well.
I really appreciate how much time you put into showing your videos

Love!Love! Love!! Gotta make this. Then I’d like to try it in an Afghan. 😃
julie lahman I was just wondering the same thing!
How would you do it?
I’d start out with a square or rectangle and just do the “slats” on the sides. There’s also a log cabin pattern that’s similar that could help you.
Or we could asked real nicely and Fiber Spider May make us a tutorial 😃
