I like how they're handling the WW1 era ships, make them statistical weaker but make up with better skills.
Makes sense they're not as advanced as new ships but make this up with been experienced veterens, really opens up what ships they can use hell WW1era Royal navy alone had 82 capital ships.
This also opens the possibility of having ships like Iron Duke, Dreadnought and Queen Mary for the HMS; which is a big plus

24:53, quick correction: Sms Yorck is not PR1 Roon’s sister ship. Yorck is part of the early 1900s Roon-Class Armored Cruisers built for the Imperial German Navy. PR1 Roon is an upsized Nuremberg designed by Wargaming. You can tell them apart by their different turret on their riggings.

I never said Yorck was Roon's sister. I'm aware the PR1 Roon is a make believe ship made up by WoW that assumed the SMS Roon-class name would be reused by the KMS.

Love Seydlitz, she was hit 20 times with Battleship shells and torpedoed she still managed to bring her crew safely back to port before sinking.
She didnt sink but was repaired in Port for 3 Months

Emden attacked my hometown! She snuck into the harbor on the 28th of October 1914 disguised as a British cruiser and sank the Russian cruiser Zhemchug before escaping, sinking the French destroyer Mosquet on the way out. She would be destroyed attempting to destroy the British radio station on the Cocos Islands by the HMAS Sydney. The raiding party she'd landed to try and destroy the station escaped and wound up making an epic journey halfway round the world before successfully returning to Germany. Her wreck would remain in place until 1950, by which time it had mostly broken up on its own, what little remaining being scrapped. There's a cenotaph on the Esplanade commemorating the Russian and French sailors killed that day and their graves are still maintained. The Eastern & Oriental Hotel - where the Captain of the Zhemchug, Baron I. A. Cherkassov, was staying at when Emden showed up - is still around, was restored in the mid 2000s and continues to operate to this day.
Yadda yadda. Its a ship I have a lot of interest in.
SMS Emden is in the top billing in this new event for a reason.
This event adds three vanguard ships and three main fleet ships. Pretty sure that means you can make a full SMS fleet.
And the fact that SMS is german for HMS, well... maybe that's a sign of things to come.
Then we also have the fact that Mini Eugen exist: Prince of Wales... maybe forgot "protection" that night, or Akashi did something with Eugen.
Final note: Lützow drank the blood of Royal Navy girls, if her skin's something to go on. Maybe that's why Sheffield's a vampire hunter...
Warship geek from WoWS here, just want to answer your question of "what's with this event having ships with weird equipment setups". Since these are SMS and not KMS, they are "prewar" era so WW1 and stuff. Back in WW1, lack of AA was fine because carriers and plane warfare was not considered a strong strategy of fighting back then so most Battleships or "Dreadnoughts" used more guns and firepower instead. These ships in the game having more guns in their slots and less AA is the result of this 👍
7:30 Mikasa is the only other WWI pre-dreadnought with the option of no AA gun (in this case, she just can't equip one)

I was confused as to who are the members of the Imperial German Navy (SMS) and it's leader because when Iron Blood got new members I thought they were an improved version of the fleet. If you can, can you tell me who are the members of the SMS so I can separate them from the Kriegsmarine
Emden's second skill (reduce 11hp 5s after battle start) should activate FDG's first skill right?
There is a lot of value on this event knowing how unique or gimmicky these ships are, meta or not they are all worth having due to being WW1 ships makes their value high, gotta love my ships whether WW2 or 1 are they in
I think the biggest takeaway from this event is that the Ram Lord, GLOWWORM, has found a new acolyte in Little Prinz Eugen.

On the contrary, the RAF conducted the first offensive from an “aircraft carrier” in WWI, against Zeppelin base at Denmark. The “aircraft carrier” in question is HMS Furious, a converted battlecruiser. I’m excited for her tbh, and with two other aviation battleships in game, she is a great addition to the collection.
Considering UR event in may, i'm probably gonna do 3 dailies pull only. Because my cube is very unsettling
Also Emden's slow looks like it could be Synced pretty well with UvH which would stack the slow, that + 10% FP buff could make Emden a Signiant Boss fleet buffer for IB. You could go one better and get Agir's slow in there on the same timer as well, and really get bosses at a stand still.

I would suspect pretty well.
The "Shadows of the Past" might not be limited to just SMS, and could probably apply to other WW1 Ships.
Wonder if they stealth added it to Mikasa and Avrora.
Also, since this event seems to be that Scapa Flow is a RN/IB cooperative research, the next RN event may have some ships from that too.
That would be a cool if it went to other WW1 ships.
Is Lutzow's "10% chance for extra 3000 damage" based on per hit, or per volley? Does each main gun hit from a volley have its own chance to proc that damage, or is it 10% as long as at least one shell from a volley hits? If it's former, that makes it way better, potentially broken in fact, but if it's the latter it's pretty meh.
Per hit. Each has it's own chance.
So if you put quadruple main cannons on her, there's a chance, even if astronomically small, that all 12 shells hit the same target and proc the extra damage, all together 36000 extra damage in a single volley.
As weird as this thing is, I actually kind of like it.
So I wonder how Seydlitz First ability works with other damage reduction? with Graf, UvH in another party, and with Cats we could go as high as 26% KMS Damage reduction. now Lets say Seydlitz is in a fleet with Graf, and Graf gets hit with 100 damage. Does *that* damage get -26, to 74, then of that Graf recieves 30 (40%) and Sedylitz 35 (60% reduce by 20%) but then does that 35 get reduced further because Sedylitz her 26% damage reduction on the 35 since thats when she takes damage? It just seems Seydlitz with Graf and UvH support could be really strong for a KMS PVE without a healer but working out how the Damage reduction hits seems complicated
Best way to find out is to test it and see how the calculate has it's order of operations set up.
On the Segment for York, i dont really get behind comparing her to PR Roon and even calling her, her sister. The only relation the two of the have is that PR Roon was named after the same Person the original class of armored cruisers was.
They are both Iron Blood CAs. So they are competing for the same class. Agir and the Prinz sisters are CB eligible so Roon is definitely the closest role competition. Also, I never called them sisters, but given the WoWs Roon was named after the SMS Roon-class, I did compare them.
If I was to guess, would Seydlitz be the flagship of the SMS Imperial German Navy?

Mikasa also has the same loadout of BB gun/CL gun/DD gun, but she doesn't have the option to equip an AA gun.
Still, I wouldn't advice newbies to take these ships to w12 or w13.

Obviously I will get every1 but the shipgirl I’m most interested in and excited for is little prinz eugen. She is absolutely precious and deserves lots of love. U can bet I’ll be oathing her ASAP. But other than her my 2nd most fav part of this event is that finally after all these years hipper is now getting her own skin. It’s not the best in the world but it’s still a fine dress. That skin will be an upgrade to her beauty and will be her new normal.
Now that my mind is wondering... I wonder how long it will be b4 the expert artists will have r34 and doujins made of little prinz eugen. I must be patient for them.

That opens the door for some potential, but still more unlikely than likely.
You kinda have Comet (HMCS Restigouche by 1938), Crescent (HMCS Fraser by 1937), Cygnet (HMCS St. Laurent by 1937), Fortune (HMCS Saskatchewan by 1943) and Foxhound (HMCS Qu'Appelle by 1944)

As a relatively new player it's kinda annoying that every event people keep saying UR event is soon. Like I don't want to spend cubes for nothing when like next month the best UR ship ever will drop and I won't have enough to get her. Wasn't there supposed to be 4 UR this year? We're already basically in May now with only 1 UR Russian event.
New UR Events will most likey be 3 months apart from each other after this event the next one should be a UR Event and than we should also see Shinano Rerun this year hopefully
Next with be a rerun then a new event so new UR is likely end of May.
And as a new player don't worry about it, the game can be completed with easy to obtain ships just aim for the event ships you really want for now, when I first started I think it was the 3-4 event that I finally had the resources to get every ship and haven't missed any since.
UR’s are extremely low drop chance and the pity is 200 builds. Btw that’s 300k gold over a 2 week period. So unless you’re saving up all your gold and cubes to guarantee yourself the next UR ship, you should just build for whoever you like.
@@Nivomandasrail most people get the UR within 80-100 pulls which is about 150k gold and 200 cubes which is why every event I try not to drop below 100 cubes If I dont have the ships but yea RIP to those unlucky

Maybe 1 a year would be okay. More than that can be a bit much.
What does "paper ship" mean?
That they are not related to a real ship in history. These are usually planned ships that in the course of the war were never made.

Nope after their defeat in ww1 they got interned in scapa flow where they await their fate. Once they got hint of the becoming a war prize they decided to scuttle the whole sms fleet all at same time. Rather than let me fall in enemy hand.

There's a few ships they can use Vanguard is the most obvious but there's others like HMS Tartar but I personnally think it'll be a carrier either Indomitable or one of the Implacable or Audacious classes.
Kinda sad that Little Eugen shield skill is objectively better than the original one. Makes me all the more coping for UR Prinz Eugen

I love this event I’ve got all the ships I’m hoping for WWI HMS event because you can’t have the high seas fleet without the grand fleet! Also this opens up new possibilities like An Shun but where she opens up the future these girls open up the past, HMS Victory when?

Seydlitz’s first skill can increase her FP by 18%. How does this increase by 18% multiplier work? Her base FP stat which is 389 at lv125? Or 389 + 45 + 45 + 35 (from the guns) then x18%? Does anyone know?
She got the 18% boost after the flat amounts because the skill only activates in the battle, meaning she starts the battle with her base damage (that is 389 Fp on lvl 125) + Fp from main gun and aux then she got the +18% on them.
Don't mind events like this as I can take it easy on cubes. Get the free ships and I get what a get after a couple of full pulls.

Damn, I hope 60 cubes is enough. I started just about 3 weeks ago, downloaded the game right after listening to Sabaton - Bismarck. I failed to get Perseus but thankfully got Howe. Hope this event is nicer to me cause I LOVE KMS umu!
Events typically have reruns in the far future so even if you miss out, you’ll still be able to have a chance to get them again!

Enterprise and a Manjuu item so you'll have an INVINCIBLE main fleet.
Manjuu really can't afford to screw up next month ngl. Has to be big and high quality

Not related at all... Both Iron Blood CAs in a "Roon class". Yes I know that the PR1 Roon is a made up ship from WW2 era and this Roon-class is different from WW1 era.

This is first Ironblood I feel meh about and likely do casual (depending on hard map drops) play. Seeing WWI kansens would be something I expected to see once Yostar depletes pool of WW2 ships (both built and planned). Saving few hopium pills for UR HMS event in May.
They didn't even use like 80%of the ships in ww2 so idk whats with the ww1 ships

They've depleted the German WW2 pool. In real life they had a crap navy so that's why. Of course other factions have lots of real WW2 ships to add but Manjuu doesn't seem to be interested in them lol

@@kyarumomochi5146 All of them are DDs and submarines, with only 2 or 3 notable cruisers left. They won't do an event from just that. At best you might get one event worth of ships from what's left I guess

More German ships are welcome, regardless of their relative "use", for me. So glad I managed to get my cubes over 400 in time.
I think the reasons that these ships arent that good compared to ones we have is because
They are WW1 ships how can they compared
And UR event is coming soon so making a broken unit on this event would be annoying for many

I just finished the event since I have to do everything no matter how bad it is. It was cute to see Manjuu add in yet another Eagle Union cameo to try and make it seem like they're relevant or even matter. The only thing that could have made this better is if the Royal Navy had made a cameo appearance as well and also pretended to be important to these developers. Seriously, it's a joke from a very transparently biased developer. The game is almost 5 years old, and despite both being the world's largest and most powerfull navys, the RN and EU have had events that have little to no bearing on the story. Axis Lane chose its path and sealed its fate. Of this we already bear witness.

I like how they're handling the WW1 era ships, make them statistical weaker but make up with better skills.
Makes sense they're not as advanced as new ships but make this up with been experienced veterens, really opens up what ships they can use hell WW1era Royal navy alone had 82 capital ships.
The devs ain't gonna cram every single one of those 82 real-life money sinks. Game already has Queen Elizabeth, Warspite, Valiant, Renown, Repulse, Glorious (currently a flattop in the game), Arkhangelsk (the superdread formerly known as Royal Sovereign in NorPar hands), Eagle (as a Sardegna-trolling flattop in WW2), Erebus and Terror.
Missing WW1 Royal warships that fought in WW2 are Iron Duke (1912-1946), Courageous, Revenge, Ramillies, Royal Oak, Resolution, Malaya, Barham, Pegasus (the 7,000-ton flattop and former bearer of the Ark Royal name) and Argus (completed as a flattop three months before the end of WW1).
Bonus point to heavy cruiser Vindictive who/which was finished a month before the end of WW1.
Any Dreadnought (1906) beggar will be keelhauled.
