He wasn't really cocky, he was just making a show. Trying to deconcentrate Zaleś. Kind of piss him off so he make mistakes. Head game. That didn't really worked. Hawaiian got very confident after the first slapp but then moved his head when Zaleś slapped him. If he stayed still match would be over then.
Last Zaleś's slapp landed right on the button. Turned the ignition off and all lights went dark. ;))) Wasn't easy but GOOD JOB CHAMP!!!!!!!!!
I don't like his antics either but I think the impression he is trying to make is he's trying too act crazy rather than cocky. He's a complainer though and should a bit of respectful. Refs need to establish and enforce rules so Hawaiian doesn't need to complain.
He was not cocky at all, he was just about to stage dive out of pure humility. I was so satisfied with his knock out; Zales has always been humble in his matches, only reason he was screaming is after he saw the Hawaiian attitude.

Tucking the chin is incredibly unfair, it allows less of a surface to slap, and it also prevents your jaw from getting torqued sideways which is what causes KOs.

Did you see how calm zales was that’s the most important thang. That was his strategy to stay calm. His opponent was to hyper wich causes the blood pressure to rise wich in turns makes it easier to pass out.

Hawaiian been around awhile knocking folks out in slap fight. He was the us champ for awhile then he vacated the title. Pretty sure this is the first time he's been ko'd in slap fighting. Very impressive.
They both had a undefeated record but the cross between American slap fights and Russian slap fights need more work the chin tucking has to stop it’s a huge advantage that not all fighters are able to do

That makes it a lot harder for the other guy to hit his slaps, so hell be hitting with less power to try to be as accurate, and that defense strategy is super strong, helping negative a lot of the damage of what remains of the slap
