I actually LOVE Kush's verbal diarrhea. It shows his brain at work as he makes decisions about ingredients and flavors. He's such a fast mover too. It's very entertaining. He and Ebbers together in the kitchen bounce off each other so well. This is a great pairing. It would have been great to have Slater do the judging.

Sometimes you want your favorite food in your favorite way and sometimes you want something that makes you experience something new and exciting and I think Kush managed to do that with that bomb sausage, the unique egg and that rhubarb beet ketchup
I think the best, most relatable, part is that both chefs keep being asked "and where is this delicious thing you're making going?" and the chefs just say "eh, I'm still working on that bit"
I tell you what watching Ben and Kush rushing around the kitchen and making up dishes as they go along, really makes you realise they are both absolutely incredible at there jobs
I think because it is Slater's fridge ingredients we needed to see him try the dishes as well! I also would have liked to see what his plans were for some of the ingredients. I feel like Ben deserves extra credit for making that beautiful custard.
I really wanted to hear what Slater was planning to make. Or what he would have made in the hour. And what he thought after tasting. Lol and also if it was sheep cheese.
Likely bought them from a factory.50-60 stacks are like one of the smallest common amounts. Like ground meat being a pound/500 grams a portion etc. Would not be surprised if it cost less than 3 pounds sterling.
they keep really well. about a month in the fridge, a couple more in the freezer before the quality drops. Get a good quality tortilla, or make them yourself in bulk, and you can keep it for a while. They're great for all sorts of recipes. I'll only make something with them every week or two, but I still get 20-40 at a time because they keep well.

I love the addition of kush to the in front of the camera group. Ben is like the dad of the group, you listen to him passively. When James was on, he was the cool older brother or the cool uncle. Kush is the frustrated mom. A total mess but you love them regardless because they do so much and you can’t help but appreciate them.
James is anticipated for his sassiness. I love his Pass It On episodes but not his Chef vs Chef battles. Kush is the complete opposite. It's better to sass him. And I love his 2-chef videos, his chemistry with Ben is amazing. But his Pass It On content is just okay. Maybe give it time he'll be an all-rounder.
It's so great to see Ebbers sweating, not from stress (or so it seemed), but from hard work in the kitchen! A man in his element. And Kush just taking it all in stride, as he does. Two sides of the same coin, both educational, for different reasons, for us viewers. Excellent as always!!

That was great fun. A return to old strengths. Loved to see the two very different takes on this selection of ingredients. For me the best part are these small tricks: never would I have thought to fry off poached eggs, but the "I don't like the wet slob" resonated; or using the beetroot to sweeten the ketchup! I hope we'll see more of the chefs showing off again in the future

@@SortedFood 60 tortillas is one Taco Tuesday in my family. We are two adults and 3 kids but Taco Tuesdays my brothers usually invite themselves. So +2 adults. And left overs can be turned into mini snacking quesadillas or into a dessert.

Love it how Kush sniffs on everything. It's so nice to see someone else doing that. Everyone around me always goes like: Did you just smell that? YES I did! I do that when shopping too - when stuff doesn't smell good I won't buy it (and by good I mean good for the item - sure, ripe cheese isn't exactly rose petals, but it has to smell good for ripe cheese).
Ben you always amaze me. I try to tackle day to day meals as you do. Clear as I go is my favorite because at the end you have a dish and zero mess, it's magic. Love your show, so wish I could see your summer spectacular but I live far away.

This was amazing, it was so nice of you to put Kush to the front desk. Also, frying off those poached eggs was something that I will absolutely try once I had learnt to cook perfect poached eggs. Both chefs did a great job, well done!
Kush did some thing we always do in South Asia.. have anything that goes in the ground meat go in the meat grinder in the end.. It not only makes the grinder cleaned up from residual meat but also one does not need to chop them.

Those eggs from Kush seem super interesting and something I had never seen or really thought of before. Not something I think I'd be able to pull off or know how to use in a dish but definitely interesting.
I love chef vs chef videos ... because even tough you might have a little bit of time pressure at the end there is no freakout, no apparent panic... which makes it very comfortable to watch, opposit to pass it on videos which are like 20 mins of constant freakout and i usually jump right at the end to see the result because i can't handle the pressure.
Video just started, but love the ingredients. Bottarga; smoked grey mullet or bluefin tuna roe (or cod), is a fav of mine. Lovely over some pasta pishes or even better, finely grated over scrambled eggs with toast! 😋
I love how they've completely given up with the whole "being objective when judging" when a normal judges and gone compltely on the "what this person likes" strategy. Honestly, half the time, it felt like that anyway, so fair play😂

It’s impresses me so much (Shania Twain) how quickly the chefs adapt from start to finish while cooking at the same time to end up with their dishes. And hearing Kush verbally work out is so interesting, like he’s working out to himself but then the viewers get the unedited chef-y mind of how to plate up a top quality dish with mystery ingredients👏👏
Barry had to add in the bit about the custard tasting like a chef re-created canned custard to make up for him questioning if the ketchup came out of a bottle XD
