Every time I watch a react like this, I think he would be very happy to see this (unfortunately he passed away in 2007), because it was one of his greatest wishes to bring the opera to everybody - not only the "rich people" who can go to the great opera houses.
He had a project called "Pavarotti & Friends". There he sang with different (non opera) singers and all the money from this concerts has been donated for children in war zones. You should look for videos of this, because "Big P" is a master tenor, but this fusion of opera and pop/rock music is unbelievable.

    This is the translation:
    None shall sleep
    (Calaf, the unknown prince:)
None shall sleep! None shall sleep! You too, princess,
    In your cold room
    You watch the stars
    Trembling of love and hope...
But the mistery of me is locked inside of me
No one will know my name!
No, no, I will say it on your mouth,
    When the light will shine!
And my kiss will melt the silence
    that makes you mine.
    (Choir, voices of women:)
No one will know my name...
And we will, unfortunately, have to die, die!
    (Calaf, the unknown prince:)
    Leave, oh night! Set, stars!
Set, stars! At sunrise I will win!
I will win! I will win!

I have just come across your reaction of some 4 weeks ago Gracie & I am impressed with your emotions & sincerity. Now you have been exposed to an Opera Aria, & that you were so, so impressed with his voice, let me introduce to you a phenomenal very young Soprano by the name of Amira Willighagen who won Holland’s Got Talent at the age of nine. She won this contest without even a single singing lesson.
You mentioned in this reaction the fact that Pavarotti sang without effort, and you’ll find that Amira does exactly that, even in her top register . She not only sings without effort, she has a beautiful powerful voice with a vibrato that most Sopranos would be jealous of, & she sings with such emotion.
Amira is now 16, but let me suggest a couple of performances to start you off. I say “start you off” , because once you’ve heard this angelic voice, you will be totally smitten , the same as millions of her fans worldwide.
So firstly, start with Amira’s performance , at the age of 10, with the world renown conductor & musician Andre Rieu, where she performed O Mio Babbino Caro with an audience of 15,000 people who gave her a standing ovation.
Secondly, her singing Ave Maria by Gomez at the Canisius Church at the age ( I think ) of 11.
Amira has since performed in some 13 countries, & sung in at least 5 languages & often to a packed auditorium supported by a full orchestra and backup singers.
I know this is a rather long post, but to miss out on hearing this magnificent Soprano would be a travesty , as she has the voice of an angel , & I wasn’t exaggerating when I said “millions” of fans.
By the way Gracie, I love your hair!
Looking forward to your first Amira reaction, & as time goes by, you will learn a lot more of Amira’s incredible journey, on stage & in her private life.

The lyrics are as powerful as the music, though ethically a little weird:.
    The Italian translation:
    Nobody shall sleep!...
    Nobody shall sleep!
    Even you, oh Princess,
    in your cold room,
    watch the stars,
that tremble with love and with hope.
But my secret is hidden within me,
my name no one shall know...
    No!...No!...
On your mouth, I will tell it when the light shines.
And my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine!...
Choir: townpeople ordered to give his name, thought they don't know: (No one will know his name and we must, alas, die.)
    Vanish, o night!
    Set, stars! Set, stars!
At dawn, I will win! I will win! I will win!
    *
Comment: the Jealous suitor will probably continue to mistreat those under his control, but completely exterminating his source of income, his townspeople, seems unlikely,
I should probably try to find out if Turadot was a reasonably accurate representation of real events.

It's from the the opera "Turandot" by Puccini. It's a classic fairy tale...a proud Princess declares she will only marry someone who can answer three riddles. If they fail, they get executed. Several try and die. Finally one more steps forward and answers all three riddles. The Princess still doesn't want to marry him but he tells her if she can guess his name before dawn, he will allow himself to be killed. She says she will allow no one to sleep and threatens to kill everyone unless someone tells her the Prince's name. The song you're hearing is sung by the Prince (who's name is Calaf) during the night, proclaiming that he will win. Meanwhile the Princess is having a slave girl who knows his name tortured. The girl won't tell her his name and commits suicide. (It's opera...things like this happen.) Sun comes up, Princess doesn't know, Calaf takes her veil off and kisses her...then Princess tells him his name is "Love." Happy ending...except for all the people who die before the wedding.
