Hi My PenPals💕. Listen to my latest song releses“Seasons”, out now: fanlink.to/-Seasons & “Little Girl In His Presence”, out now: fanlink.to/LittleGirlinHisPresence. Thanks
He is singing an aria from the opera Turandot. The princess Turandot has all night to find out his name. If she does then it means his death. If not then he may marry the princess. The princess is saying no one will sleep as they must find out his name and he counters that no one will no his name and he will be victorious. At the end he says Vincero with emphasis three times, which means "I will win". One of the most beautiful arias ever written sung by arguably the greatest tenor of all time.
This is a song of hope, commitment, battle and victory. So many think it is sad, but they're probably crying because the voice and music together just rip the tears out of your eyes. Absolutely EPIC!
Everybody so obsessed with his face at the end…lol. That’s just the easy acting bit. But thank you for your real singer’s appreciation of his craft. Greatest singer of the 20th Century. 🦁👑
You are a woman after my own heart. Nessun Dorma is one of the all-time classics of opera and Luciano Pavarotti is the maestro of maestros when it comes to delivery of this and a great number of other songs. Your reaction was a delight, as always! Can't wait for your next one! And here's to the next one! 🙏🙂❤️
Christ will return at dawn on the sunrise. This is what Puccini, the writer of this opera, was saying in the lyrics. That’s the gist and underlying theme of the song
I am Italian and I grew up with the first Rolling Stones, the Animals, the Yardbirds, the Who and others. But, as an Italian, I am therefore proud and proud of Turandot, Puccini and Maestro Pavarotti. But I'm not a chauvinist, so I believe that the "Nessun Dorma", like Puccini and Pavarotti, do not belong to my Italy alone. Like all art they belong to the whole of humanity. Maestro Pavarotti I will not forget you, wherever you are !!!!
Amazing. I was born in England (the home of all the bands that you listed) as I grew and found Opera I found your Italian music to be the most profound and highest form or art on earth! Bravo 👏 x

Calaf, the unknown prince:) None shall sleep! None shall sleep! You too, princess, In your cold room You watch the stars Trembling of love and hope... But the mistery of me is locked inside of me No one will know my name! No, no, I will say it on your mouth, When the light will shine! And my kiss will melt the silence that makes you mine. (Choir, voices of women:) No one will know my name... And we will, unfortunately, have to die, die! (Calaf, the unknown prince:) Leave, oh night! Set, stars! Set, stars! At sunrise I will win! I will win! I will win!
This is the classic opera presentation of "Nessun Dorma" by the acknowledged master. "Nessun Dorma" is also performed as a concert piece. Less dramatic and, although it is written for a male voice, it has been done beautifully by female artists. In my humble opinion, one of the best renditions was in 2011 by then 11 year old (yes 11 year old) Jackie Evancho as a guest on Britain's Got Talent. You may question as to how an 11 year old can do this justice, but wait until you hear it. She's 20 now and still does it in concerts. Her voice has gotten even better.
The music :Boy, Puccini could write a great melody. Though it's the notes at the end that stick in the mind, they come after two and a half minutes for stunning lines for the singer. The phrases wash over you in waves. Then as it grows in passion, the tenor line becomes more declamatory with repeated notes as the orchestra swells poignantly underneath with bittersweet harmonic clashes in the counter melody. You sure know how to tug at our heart with your music, Giacomo. The set-up in the opera is absolutely ridiculous Picture the scene: our hero, Calaf, is one of three suitors for the delightfully picky Princess Turandot. As a weird sort of challenge, Calaf says that if Turandot can correctly guess his name, she may execute him (?!) but if she can’t, then she must marry him (?!?!?!!) In a whimsically sociopathic move, the Princess decides that ‘None shall sleep’ (the literal translation of ‘Nessun dorma’) in the entire kingdom until Calaf’s name is discovered. If none of her subjects are able to come up with the correct name, all of them (ALL OF THEM) will be executed. Which is obviously fine and not cause for concern. The aria begins with Turandot’s proclamation that ‘None shall sleep’, and that’s where the tenor, Calaf, picks it up. The lyrics So with that insane set-up in place (who would want to marry this maniac?!), Calaf now quietly hopes that he will win this strange little game, and is both poetic and boastful: “But my secret is hidden within me; no one will know my name! No, no! On your mouth I will say it when the light shines!” Then he becomes a proper show-off: “And my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine!” And if you were worrying that this boastfulness was in any way undermining the emotional seriousness, check out what the female chorus of Turandot’s subjects then sing: “No one will know his name, and we will have to, alas, die, die!” cit. www.classicfm.com/composers/puccini/guides/why-nessun-dorma-is-best/
The crowd : Nobody sleeps! Nobody sleeps! calaf : Nobody sleeps! Nobody sleeps! You too, Princess, in your cold room look at the stars who tremble with love and hope... But my mystery is closed in me, my name no one will know! No, no, on your mouth I will say it, when the light shines! And my kiss will dissolve the silence That makes you mine. Women : Her name no one will know ... And we shall, alas, die, die! calaf : Go away, oh night! Go down, stars! Go down, stars! I'll win at dawn ! I will win! I will win!
Yay ... comments work now! 😊 Wanted to tell Fluffy how awesome his Baby Yoda hat is!!! May the force be with him! 😊 Also I really love that song. One of the all time opera classics. Love that epic orchestral ending! 😊
I know there is a youtube hype for reactions on this video, however there are many more demanding opera pieces than "Nessun dorma". I recommend checking them out, like "Ah mes amis" from Donizetti, Lucia's mad scene from "Lucia di Lammermoor", "Der Hölle Rache" from "Magic Flute" or "Ah il più lieto il più felice" from "The Barber of Seville".
In many interview and social media, Dimash says many times that he is Dimash’s number 1 tenor in the world. In “ love is like a dream” Dimash operatic tenor belt sounds like This legend!

It s a song included in an opera piece. "Only who say what the princess name is can get her like wife otherwise who get wrong is killed. This song a guy is gonna say her name ecc ecc" Translation of that part is bit wrong : No no on your mouth i ll tell you ( talking about the name) When the light will shine (it means the day next) "No saprà it means : Won't know"
Pavoratti: No one sleep (2x) Even you O' princess In your cold room Watch the stars That twinkle for love And for hope But my secret Is closed within me My name No one shall know No, No On your mouth I will reveal it When the light Shines And my kiss Will dissolve the silence That makes of mine Choir: (His name no one shall know it and we shall have alas to die, to die) Pavoratti: Vanish O'night Set stars (2x) At dawn I shall win I shall win P.s. Doesn't really makes any sense to me but it sounds beautiful when he sings it for sure!
Hi! I just became a subscriber and you are great :)) There is a movie ,"Yes Georgio" that features the opera w Pavrotti where you can watch the full video of him singing this part and holding the last note for 17 seconds. Just type in 'Yes Giorgio/Nessun Dorma' and enjoy yourself :))
Calaf : Nessun dorma ! Nessun dorma ! Calaf : Dilegua, o notte ! Tramontate, stelle ! Tramontate, stelle ! All'alba vincerò ! Vincerò ! Vincerò !
In case you're wondering, here's the English translation to the lyrics. None shall sleep, None shall sleep! Even you, oh Princess, In your cold room, Watch the stars, That tremble with love And with hope. But my secret is hidden within me, My name no one shall know, No... no... On your mouth, I will tell it, When the light shines. And my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine! (No one will know his name and we must, alas, die.) Vanish, o night! Set, stars! Set, stars! At dawn, I will win! I will win! I will win!
The context from the opera Turandot is that princess Turandot must say the name of the nameless prince (Pavarotti) by morning or must submit to marriage to him, after previously denouncing marriage to any man for a crime of a man against her ancestor. If she says his name before dawn he must submit to death. Until she can learn his name all in the city (Peking) are not allowed to sleep. Any caught sleeping that night are to be executed. The unnamed prince sings this aria as a challenge to fate that he will win the prize (Turandot) the next day. That is why the chorus sings the lyric lamenting that they may die that night.
At 2:40 it is kind of hard to tell if the Master changed position. But you can OBVIOUSLY tell the composer was carefully watching and timing by the flow the Master was using, and then directing the symphony timing as needed, which they flawlessly followed. Usually the soprano times the singing to the instrumental tempos. To reverse this was sublime mastery. This was a pure, heavenly mastery in so many ways, in such a short time, of so many disciplines, it can be hard to enunciate. You, always do a chatty, very knowledgeable job of it. Pavarotti was a little more than human. He proved it to the rest of us many times.
React to the 1998 Paris live version, believe me, it's worth it! the final high is better than ever. Nessun Dorma - Luciano Pavarotti (Paris 1998) HQ ruclips.net/video/NUKgN-nC93c/видео.html
Hey, Scott, as a Christian and a former singer myself I love David Phelps and I believe he is perhaps the best modern tenor in the Southern Gospel genre, a truly unique voice with easy top notes. However, when it comes to Nessun Dorma I've heard just about every version of David and it doesn't hold a candle to Pavarotti and the difference comes both from the classical training of an operatic tenor who has to project above the orchestra in a huge opera house and the natural immediately recognisible sound of Pavarotti. He was a freak of nature with exceptionally powerful rib cage, perfect breath control and enormously resonating "mask" and open-throat sound typical of the Southern Italian singing school. In fact, there is no trained tenor of the past or current who has ever been able to achieve the perfect technique and smooth transition through the passagio like Pavarotti. I have listened to every song by every tenor for years and I find myself coming back to Luciano's versions again and again...David is great in his own right when singing Christian music....

He is singing an aria from the opera Turandot. The princess Turandot has all night to find out his name. If she does then it means his death. If not then he may marry the princess. wow you are so beautiful..great video...much love :)
Calaf, the unknown prince:)
None shall sleep! None shall sleep! You too, princess,
In your cold room
You watch the stars
Trembling of love and hope...
But the mistery of me is locked inside of me
No one will know my name!
No, no, I will say it on your mouth,
When the light will shine!
And my kiss will melt the silence
that makes you mine.
(Choir, voices of women:)
No one will know my name...
And we will, unfortunately, have to die, die!
(Calaf, the unknown prince:)
Leave, oh night! Set, stars!
Set, stars! At sunrise I will win!
I will win! I will win!
Oh yes, you scratched the surface, and went deep.
Hi OldBoiler62💕
The music :Boy, Puccini could write a great melody. Though it's the notes at the end that stick in the mind, they come after two and a half minutes for stunning lines for the singer. The phrases wash over you in waves. Then as it grows in passion, the tenor line becomes more declamatory with repeated notes as the orchestra swells poignantly underneath with bittersweet harmonic clashes in the counter melody. You sure know how to tug at our heart with your music, Giacomo.
The set-up in the opera is absolutely ridiculous
Picture the scene: our hero, Calaf, is one of three suitors for the delightfully picky Princess Turandot. As a weird sort of challenge, Calaf says that if Turandot can correctly guess his name, she may execute him (?!) but if she can’t, then she must marry him (?!?!?!!)
In a whimsically sociopathic move, the Princess decides that ‘None shall sleep’ (the literal translation of ‘Nessun dorma’) in the entire kingdom until Calaf’s name is discovered.
The lyrics
So with that insane set-up in place (who would want to marry this maniac?!), Calaf now quietly hopes that he will win this strange little game, and is both poetic and boastful:
“But my secret is hidden within me;
no one will know my name!
No, no! On your mouth
I will say it when the light shines!”
Then he becomes a proper show-off:
“And my kiss will dissolve
the silence that makes you mine!”
And if you were worrying that this boastfulness was in any way undermining the emotional seriousness, check out what the female chorus of Turandot’s subjects then sing:
“No one will know his name,
and we will have to, alas, die, die!”

The crowd :
Nobody sleeps! Nobody sleeps!
calaf :
Nobody sleeps! Nobody sleeps!
You too, Princess,
in your cold room
look at the stars
who tremble with love and hope...
But my mystery is closed in me,
my name no one will know!
No, no, on your mouth I will say it,
when the light shines!
And my kiss will dissolve the silence
That makes you mine.
Women :
Her name no one will know ...
And we shall, alas, die, die!

Go away, oh night! Go down, stars!
Go down, stars! I'll win at dawn !
I will win! I will win!

Nessun dorma = Nobody should sleep.
Il nome mio nessun saprà = Nobody will know my name.
All'alba vincerò! + At dawn I will win!
It s a song included in an opera piece. "Only who say what the princess name is can get her like wife otherwise who get wrong is killed. This song a guy is gonna say her name ecc ecc" Translation of that part is bit wrong : No no on your mouth i ll tell you ( talking about the name) When the light will shine (it means the day next) "No saprà it means : Won't know"
Thanks fivebit💕

Hi! I just became a subscriber and you are great :))
There is a movie ,"Yes Georgio" that features the opera w Pavrotti where you can watch the full video of him singing this part and holding the last note for 17 seconds. Just type in 'Yes Giorgio/Nessun Dorma' and enjoy yourself :))
Opera requires - I mean DEMANDS the most mastery when it comes to anything singing
Every singer’s goal should be to master their voice regardless of genre 💕 Do you sing?

Hi Rameus💕
@@MrsPenPal hello
In case you're wondering, here's the English translation to the lyrics.
None shall sleep,
None shall sleep!
Even you, oh Princess,

Watch the stars,
That tremble with love
And with hope.
But my secret is hidden within me,
My name no one shall know,

I will win!

Thanks Cassie 🌸
The context from the opera Turandot is that princess Turandot must say the name of the nameless prince (Pavarotti) by morning or must submit to marriage to him, after previously denouncing marriage to any man for a crime of a man against her ancestor. If she says his name before dawn he must submit to death. Until she can learn his name all in the city (Peking) are not allowed to sleep. Any caught sleeping that night are to be executed. The unnamed prince sings this aria as a challenge to fate that he will win the prize (Turandot) the next day. That is why the chorus sings the lyric lamenting that they may die that night.
Wonderful
Look at Freddie Mercury with an operasinger - Barcelona
Very detailed 💕
@@MrsPenPal I am sure as I have little expertise here, that I made little sense. Your words are most kind!
He says "vinceró" (the last word). In English, "I will win":
That’s beautiful
This song is simple-Luciano screams to God and God answers.

This is not a song
It is a opera of
Puccini : Turandot
And this "aria" is :
Nessun dorma.
You should listen to David Phelps sing this song.
Sing (play)"Torna Sorriento(un comandante)" please.
You should react to him singing "e lucevan le stelle" (at the metropolitan opera), "la Donna è mobile", or "vesti la giubba"
