FULL DESCRIPTION
Today, I’m talking about my three favorite patterns. These are patterns that I've traded for over twenty years and taught for over ten years.
#1: Morning dip buys:
This is dip buying a big panic near the market open when a stock drops anywhere from 20-40%.
#2: Shorting the first red day:
This can work on a pump-and-dump or a stock that’s been up for seven to 20 days in a row. Then you have that first day of weakness in the candle, and ideally, it finishes near its low. That can be a good time to short as it can precede the morning panic.
#3: Buying a first green day winner:
Ideally, you can use this pattern on an OTC play or an earnings winner. That first green day could also due to a new investor or a new product announcement. But it's one big, green candle in the chart. Maybe it’s breaking out to new highs ... but this pattern should have a big percent gain, big volume, and should close at or near its day highs.
Don’t forget, sometimes I lose. You can never guarantee a profit. Patterns can go in and out of favor. Some days or even weeks they just won’t work. They won’t ALWAYS work, and that’s OK! I’ve built my knowledge account enough to understand when the smartest trade is no trade at all.
So, invest in your knowledge and your preparation.
I have so many video lessons, DVDs, books, webinars, watch lists, commentary - and guess what? Everything is based around these three patterns!
Which of these three patterns do you like the best? What patterns do you look for? Drop a comment below and let me know!

1. Morning Dip Buys
2. Shorting First Red Day
3. Buying First Green Day
3 and 1. I have been watching 1s to learn and it seems they spike again around 10am EST that I've been watching. And I am getting better at first green days. Haven't done any shorts as I am still learning pump and dumps.
Working on setting up my journals
Thanks for another repeat ♡ have your camera man cut your hair while you trade. Lol jk =) cheers!
Hi Tim, pattern number 3 sometimes when stock goes green above 100% it will drop the next day and fail to rebounce based on my observation.
(1) It's awesome that you show every trade!!!!! I think from watching you trade morning panics and spikes I have become comfortable seeing these patterns. I'm looking forward to learning more!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks man
Thank you Tim for all your hard work and staying to continue teaching love you bro
Morning Dip buys are my favorite pattern.
After that it’s buying technical breakouts but we haven’t seen much of those lately.
I love the dip and rip - especially on a first green day. But I also love what I call the "touch and go" off or just below the VWAP.
Any idea if this is for something that was up the day before or in pre market? Im trying to learn. Many stocks just drop at market open, so what indicator before that tells us this will dip and rip?
I would say my favorite is Morning dip buys since I feal more confident with that pattern, second would be buying a first green day winner and last would be shorting on first red days since as of now I'm not that good shorting but I am looking to improve on the short side since I think that there are a lot of money to be made on the short side of a trade.
Thankis for the video TIm!
This a valuable rant. I'm so appreciative of your character. May all of us continue to work our way out of poverty, or at least the mindset of poverty, with your exuberant guidance. Thank you, Tim!
Thank you!
Tim bro, you are above awesome. Thank you for your time to make these videos.
Morning dip buys? Not sure what time the decliner maxes out, but a vertical spike tends to peak between noon and 1PM EST.
I really like #3 pattern Tim… .. buying first Green Day in afternoon because can sit and wait like a sniper for stock to start hitting new highs with catalyst & high volume… seems like good odds … thanks for all your lessons Tim… Gary
i like the number 1. Looks good, ready to take it. thanks for your videos
I pick #1.. I'm still learning with my play account. I've never tried the other too. I'm sure if I keep watching your videos I'll learn. I'm currently just learning the basics
From papertrading over a month and a bit now I feel like I've been following buying the first green day so #3
I know it doesn't count because I haven't invested any money into it yet
But eventually when I get more of the stocks I'm following right than wrong I'll jump in.
Thanks for the help so far hope your back is doing better
How do you read a candlestick chart what does the open and close and high and low mean is that market open market close? I don’t understand what high and low is
Such a great mentor. Thanks for your help.
Love the Morning Dip buys and the First Red Day Patterns
Jamaican Rush here! i like the morning dip buy ive done this pattern a few time but im going to try shorting first red days next
happy to hear it!!
Hey Tim, I’m from India, can you tell me something about how shud I get started in the market here.
Do Tim Challenge students receive Tim Alerts as part of their purchase of the program? And are the Guru Trades on the Profitly app the same as Tim Alerts? Thanks Tim, I was just curious.
Morning panic for me. Short on the way down and long on the way up. 2.5 the share size on the way up depending on the price reduction on the short position.
Awesome 🔥
shorting Tim. thanks a lot sir for the dedication and all the good lessons. Good Karma. god bless, man!
Buying the dip is my favorite of course I like to see a stock gap up with big news but all news isn’t going to make a stock continue green if it’s not good earnings or investors etc. I always look to see if it’s an easy stock to short especially if it is trading off unusual volume. If the stock gets hit heavy with shorts I wait till the volume/momentum dies in look to see where buyers are getting in at on my time and sales and level 2 before I enter most of the time it works for me
Stock above VWAP forms Bullish Pennant, Ascending Triangle and Bullish Flag Pattern. I stay away from any stock under VWAP since I am Long Bias and only looking for Bullish above VWAP.
Well… I don’t really know yet.
I’ve been part time Trading long for serval years but have just started my journey in day trading and studying with Tim Sykes as my teacher in the last three weeks.
So far, I am not familiar with these yet and I am looking for large percent gainers & new highs as my targets.
I have a lot to learn!
Also, just signed up for the trading and investing seminar coming up in Orlando and I am really looking forward to that!
.
I like the idea of number 3. Just starting so not much experience in these yet
Morning Dip buys would be best for this crazy market. Thank you Tim.
You bet
lol, Tim you are a hoot!! I seriously just love watching you because I inevitably laugh!
LOL thanks Laura!
I love dip buys . Thanks Tim
sir, 1st red day is a reliable pattern that works in indian market i just need to wait for green to red signal
Thank you Tim! You are the Real Deal.
Morning Dip buys apparently has the highest. Then the buying the first Green Day winning
Then the second one. Shoot, I want to try them all and I am watching a bunch of your videos. Haven’t started yet !
Where can I get a video on learning all 3 of these strategies?
I still feel uneducated in this omg, man then learning is there but idk maybe I'm just afraid or..something idk but thank you Tim for repetitive teaching man, I would've never been enthused about the stock market if I didn't start studying under you
TAKE A BREAK!! You look exhausted! I dont have a favorite pattern as I'm still studying right now, but I'm close to starting to trade. Day in day out, I study and study some more. I'm in 5 months strong of studying. Learning a ton and loving it! You repeat yourself! Well yeah, valuable information needs to be repeated! Thanks for your dedication to us!! See you in Chicago! Cant wait to get that knowledge from you guys!!
When is the best time of the year to trade?
Where can I get the DVDs and webinars?
would say buy dip buy but I'm mostly red to green, but do like overextended stock catch the drop so somewhere between 1 or 2 :)
Where can I buy that hoodie? Looks like a karma gawa hoodie
1! Tested and it works! not all the time but most!
Morning dip buys have helped me grow my small account!
My favorite pattern right now is Morning Dip Buys because I only have $1,000 in my account right now. I don't know enough about shorting stocks to be confident enough to try that, at least with real money. Although recently I did paper-trade a morning spike, then turned around and shorted the stock on the way back down.
My patterns are 1 and 3. Not ready for shorting yet. :)
My morning dip buys did not work out. I bought a stock when it was 30% down, and then it just went down down down
i believe that stocks that are going up by >100% in pre-market (gap-up short?) is working really well especially if there's no real catalyst, examples of this are $CODX and $MTP. it's a fairly easily predicted short with great reward, or so it seems to me :)
#1. Mornings dip buy. See you in Orlando Tim
late day vwap hold, morning dip buy so far, haven't done any shorting
I’m trying to mess with these morning Dip Buys,
I didn’t cut losses quickly with CODX. Man, it was arrow a thru my soul.
#Thanks4TheVideo
The Incredible R.Y.U. What helps me on the big deeps are wait for the volume to die and look at your time and sales to see where the buyers are stepping in
For me as a beginner new trader, definitely the morning dip buy.
Still trying to learn, but I think I understand #1 the most
Just studying your education I haven't traded yet but they all look good!
3, but I can't short yet. 2 sounds great. Struggling w 1.
I like 1,2, and 3!
I just started..what is "dip buys" and all this other stuff u said. My portfolio is only 7 bucks with robinhood. I want to invest 100 bucks to really start but how?
Lose rh and get webull is your first step
where is the tool for the pattern
Pause at 3:59. Love the channel TIm.
Watching you for years, but I still haven't tried to trade. I'm kinda scared of the cost of the seminars and DVD's. I know it brings value but I'm just sceptical and lacking confidence to commit. Gl to others.
ArchAngel` He has a free 11 hour video that you can find you just look it up!!! I hope this helps!
1. Morning Dip Buy
2. Shorting the first Red Day
3. Buying the first Green Day.
I'm studying now, not yet trading, can't tell right now which one I like most...
Morning Dip Buys is my preference.
I'm not a trader yet but I'm leaning towards the dip buys.
I haven't implemented it yet, but I like the 1st green day👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I've been studying under Tim Sykes and his other students but I have been feeling..still to unprepared to trade
I am choosing 1. Morning Dip Buys, and I know I have to study more because my attempts to do such turn into losers that just keep sinking. So, I'm actually looking forward to learning more about 2. Shorting... because it seems that I'm pretty good at choosing losers... (hence - See my first sentence.) I have tried 3) Buying First Green Day because of the previous close was at or near the hod... but, again, I've chosen tickers that may have had a pop and it looks really good, but the next day does a 180. It seems that after I buy it, the bears take over, and it sinks like a stone... (even with Great News.. which is quite confusing, to say the least!) So.... back to the drawing board for me.... I've got to study more and learn the software too!!! ... And, btw, I don't have a tan either...
I don't know which pattern I like most YET, but what I do know is I will absolutely stay adaptable & flexible.
goood! Love the mindset
1&3
None of those patterns are as exciting as the supernova pattern but at least they happen constantly so you can add up over time

Travis Daigle CDC what is STT and how do you use it to spot dip buys!
